지식정보사회에서의 회의적 자세를 바탕으로 한 무용창작작품「똑똑한 세포」에 관한 연구

Abstract

오늘날 지식정보사회에서 사람들은 학습하는 과정에서 사회와 타인의 시선을 의식하며 수동적인 행동습관과 제한적인 사고를 가지게 되었다. 높은 지위와 권력, 부의 축적과 같이 외적보상들을 추구하며 학습하고 있는 현대인들의 태도는 스스로를 의미 없는 삶 속으로 몰아넣고 있다. 자신의 생각이나 행동이 아무런 영향력을 미치지 못하는 주체성이 결여된 삶속에서 사람들은 진정 원하는 것을 찾지 못한 채 목적의식 없이 방황하게 되었다. 검사하고 숙고하는 행위를 기본으로 하는 회의적 자세를 통한 학습과정은 인간이 능동적으로 사고하고 주체적으로 판단하며 이를 통해 뚜렷한 삶의 방향성과 목적의식을 가지게 한다. 의심과 질문의 대상을 자신에게 둠으로써 주체성을 찾고 존재목적을 성찰할 수 있게 되며 자신을 보다 나은 자아로 재창조할 수 있게 된다. 동시에 개인의 내적동기에 힘을 실어 삶을 가치있게 살아가도록 유도해주는 원동력이 된다. 또한 타인과 사회에 대한 회의를 통해 타인과 사회를 이해할 수 있는 역할이자 더 나은 사회를 건설하는 가능성을 제공해 준다. 본 연구는 지식정보사회에서 회의적 자세를 바탕으로 안무되어진 무용창작작품 「똑똑한 세포」(2016)에 대한 분석으로 이루어진다. 회의적 자세는 자신과 세계를 인지하고 긍정할 수 있는 힘을 키울 수 있으며 주체적 인간으로 극복할 수 있는 가능성을 제공해준다. 작품은 첨단과학기술과 지식·정보의 시대 속에서 자신의 존재와 학습의 목적성을 망각하고 수동적인 자세로 지식의 양적 습득에 맹목적인 현대인들에게 의심하고 질문하며 스스로 답을 구하는 회의적 사고를 통해 주체성 획득의 가능성과 내면의 성장을 제시하고 궁극적으로 우리 스스로가 주체적인 삶을 영위할 수 있음을 전달하고자 하였으며 주제 및 내용, 장면별 구성, 영상과 오브제의 의미, 이동경로와 움직임을 중점적으로 다루어 안무하였다. 작품의 1장에서는 지식정보사회에서 주체성과 학습의 목적의지가 결여된 현대인의 모습을 표현하고자 부정적인 의미를 지닌 하수 뒤의 제한적 공간에 낮은 조도의 탑 조명을 사용하고 무기력하게 서있기, 눈을 가리는 동작, 지식·정보와 학습을 상징하는 화이트보드 위에 서서 상체를 늘어뜨리는 등의 정적인 움직임을 통해 수동적이고 공허한 현대인의 모습을 나타내었다. 반면에 긍정적이고 희망적인 의미를 지닌 상수 앞 공간에는 역동적인 성장을 상징하는 세포분열 영상을 밝게 비춰서 무대 하수와 상수의 공간 사이에서 차이가 명확히 구분되게 하였다. 또한 작품의 배경이자 주제의미를 함축하고 있는 현대사회와 그 분위기, 인간의 이성과 학습의 욕구를 보여주는 영상을 무대 뒷막에 확대하여 사용하였다. 2장에서는 학습의 의미를 찾고 주체성을 회복하게 되는 계기로 무대 뒷막에 순수한 목적으로 자신의 연구 분야에 집중했던 위인들의 모습이 담긴 영상과 무용수가 마주하도록 하여 회의가 시작됨을 암시하였다. 부정적 의미의 공간인 하수 뒤에서 깨달음의 공간인 무대 중앙으로 오브제를 힘겹게 옮기는 움직임과 이동경로를 통해서 두 공간 사이에서 변화를 표현했으며, 여러 갈래의 길 조명을 통해 긴장감을 고조시켰다. 3장에서는 과거 자신의 태도에 의문을 가지게 되고 회의의 과정에서 학습의 진정한 의미와 자신을 되돌아보는 모습을 다루었다. 무용수는 오브제를 무대 바닥 전체에 해체하고 그 사이를 비틀거리며 다니기, 오브제의 가장자리나 한 면을 쓰다듬기, 오브제 두 장을 들고 위·아래로 교차하기 등 오브제를 적극 활용한 움직임과 이동경로를 사용하여 회의 속에서 괴리감과 혼란스러움을 경험하는 동시에 그 혼란을 넘어서려는 내면의 고통을 표현하였다. 특히, 혼란과 고통의 상태를 강조하기 위해 하수 뒤와 하수 앞에 사각 조명을 이용하고 팔을 꼬아 불편하게 꺾는 동작, 머리를 감싸는 동작, 양팔을 넓게 벌리고 킥이나 점프하는 동작 등 높낮이와 신체의 범위가 크게 축소·확대되는 동작구를 교차 배치하였다. 4장에서는 회의의 결과로 주체적인 학습의 태도를 다짐하고 주체성을 찾게 된 개인의 모습을 다루었다. 회의적 자세를 통해 주체적 지식습득이라는 이상적 모습에 도달한 상태를 표현하기 위해 상수 앞 구역을 설정하였으며 이 때, 지혜와 성숙 또는 희망을 의미하는 노란색의 탑 조명을 사용하여 발전적으로 상승하는 분위기가 나타날 수 있게 하였다. 또한 영상을 조명의 효과로 활용하여 암전된 무대 전체공간에 우주 은하계 영상을 비춰서 현대 지식정보사회의 무한한 지식과 정보의 양, 회의적 자세를 통해 별처럼 빛나는 개인, 세포분열이 완전히 이루어진 상태 즉, 완전한 인간으로 성장하였음을 표현하는 긍정적이고 희망적인 메시지를 담았다. 본 연구는 회의적 자세를 바탕으로 한 무용창작작품「똑똑한 세포」(2016)를 통해 지식정보사회에서 과도한 지식·정보의 양과 수단으로써의 학습과정에서 잃게 된 현대인의 주체성과 목적의식을 자신의 존재에 대한 회의와 본질에 다가가기 위해 의심하는 학습의 과정을 거치면서 궁극적으로 주체적인 삶의 방향으로 이끌어나갈 수 있음을 전하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다.;Today, in the process of learning of knowledge information society, people are often concerned about how the society and others think and formed passive behavior habits and limited thinking. The attitudes of modern-day people who learn and pursue external rewards such as high position, power and accumulation of wealth are cornering people into a meaningless life by themselves. In life absent in subjectivity where one’s idea or behavior completely lost its influence, one wanders around without a sense of purpose in the middle of loss and confusion of one´s true desire. The learning process through skeptical attitude based on the acting of inspection and deliberation allows one to have active thinking and subjective judgment through which one can have a clear directionality of life and a sense of purpose. By placing the object of doubt and question to oneself, one can find one’s subjectivity, contemplate the purpose of existence and recreate a better ego. Simultaneously, it serves as a driving force for inducing a worthwhile life by encouraging power to one’s internal motivation. Moreover, it plays a role in helping the understanding of the society and others through the skepticism about the society and others, and helps construct a better society. This study is carried out by the analysis of 「Smart cell」(2016), a dance work choreographed based on the skeptical attitude of knowledge information society. The skeptical attitude allows one to develop power to recognize and affirm oneself and the world and provides the possibility of overcoming oneself as a subjective being. Through the skeptical thinking of which a modern-day person doubts, asks and seeks the answer, who is normally blind to quantitative acquirement of knowledge based on passive attitude, while forgetting one’s existence and the finality of learning, in the era of advanced science technology and knowledge information, this dance work intended to propose the possibility of subjective acquisition and internal growth and deliver the message of which one can ultimately lead a subjective life. Moreover, the choreography focused on subject, content, composition by scene, the meaning of images and objet, moving route and movement. In Chapter 1 of the work, to express the aspect of a modern-day man absent in subjectivity and a sense of purpose of learning in the knowledge information society, low-degree tower illumination was used in the limited space at the backside of the stage left with negative meaning, and passive and empty aspect was shown through static movements such as standing up powerlessly, motion of covering eyes, hanging down the upper body while standing up on the white board symbolizing knowledge, information and learning. On the other hand, in the frontal space of the Stage Right with positive and hopeful meaning, the video showing cell division symbolizing dynamic growth was brightly illuminated to clearly divide the difference of two spaces between the Stage Left and the Stage Right. Moreover, the video showing the atmosphere of the modern-day society as a backdrop of the work and connotation of thematic meaning as well as human ration and desire of learning was used in an enlarged form in the posterior curtain of the stage. In Chapter 2, as an opportunity of finding the meaning of learning and recovering subjectivity, there is an insinuation of the start of skepticism through the scenes in which great people who had concentrated on their research field with pure purposes face the dancer. Through the harsh movement and moving route shifting the objet from the backside of the Stage Left, the space with negative meaning to the center of the stage, the space of enlightenment, the change was expressed between the two spaces. Besides, through the illumination of multi-forked streets, a sense of tension was raised. In Chapter 3, through the skeptical process showing doubts of one’s past attitude, it deals with a true meaning of learning and one’s retrospective aspect. The dancer used movements and moving route using active utilization of objet such as breaking up objet on the entire stage floor, walking through the fragments, touching one corner or one side of objet and lifting two pieces of objet and cross them up and down, to portray one’s senses of separation and confusion in the middle of skepticism, furthermore, to express one’s internal suffering wising to overcome the confusion. In particular, to highlight the state of confusion and suffering, square lightings were used in the Stage Left, and diverse motions were alternately placed by enlarging and reducing the range of body and the motion height through bending the arm uncomfortably, holding the head and kicking and jumping spreading arms widely. In Chapter 4, it deals with an aspect of a person, who decided to have a subjective learning attitude and found his/her subjectivity as results of skepticism. To express the state of arrival at the ideal aspect of subjective knowledge acquirement based on skeptical attitude, a zone in front of the Stage Right was set. By using the tower illumination meaning wisdom, maturity and hope, it intended to manifest the atmosphere of progressive increase. Furthermore, by applying the video as the illumination effect, the galaxy image was shined in the entire space of a dark change of the stage to deliver positive and hopeful message of which a person reached a shiny state like stars, the state of completion of cell division, in other words, a person grew up as a complete human, through the skeptical attitude in front of infinite quantity of knowledge and information of the knowledge information society. Based on 「Smart cell」(2016), the dance work choreographed based on the skeptical attitude, this study aimed to deliver the message of which a modern-day person is able to ultimately lead his/her life toward the subjective direction, while passing through the learning process of doubting to approach the skepticism and essence of one’s existence with subjectivity and the sense of purpose, which have been lost in the process of learning due to the quantity and means of excessive knowledge and information of the knowledge information society.
