자유학기제 미술과 주제선택 프로그램이 중학교 1학년의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

2016년 중학교 교육과정에서 전면 시행된 자유학기제는 그간 학교교육의 한계로 제기되었던 입시위주의 교육과 청소년의 낮은 행복지수 등의 문제점을 해결하고, 학생들의 꿈과 끼를 찾는‘행복교육’을 목표로 도입되었다. 자유학기동안 학생들은 지필고사의 부담에서 벗어나 자신의 적성과 소질에 맞는 진로를 탐색하고 계획할 수 있는 시간을 갖게 된다. 자유학기제가 정식 반영된 「2015 개정 교육과정」에서는 학생들의 자아정체성을 확립하고 자신의 진로와 삶을 개척하는 자주적인 인간을 육성하기 위하여 자기주도 창의학습과 창의성, 인성, 의사소통능력 등의 미래지향적 역량을 강조하며 미래사회가 요구하는 역량을 갖춘 인재를 배출하는 것을 목표로 한다. 때문에 미술교과에서도 학생들의 진로발달과 진로성숙에 도움을 주고, 2015 개정 교육과정에서 요구하는 인재를 배양하기 위하여 학생들의 자아탐색 및 진로탐색이 중심이 되는 미술교육 프로그램을 더욱 다양화시키고 체계화시킬 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 중학교 1학년 학생들이 자신의 진로를 능동적으로 탐색하고 미래를 설계하여 준비할 수 있는 자유학기제 프로그램 개발을 위해, 자유학기제의 자율과정 중 가장 학습자 중심으로 운영되는 주제선택 활동에 활용이 가능한 미술과 주제선택 프로그램을 연구 개발하고 이를 적용하여 자유학기제 주제선택 프로그램이 학습자의 진로성숙도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구목적을 달성하기 위한 연구방법은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자유학기제의 개념과 기본적인 정책사항을 살펴보고 이를 토대로 진로교육의 개념 및 필요성과 중학생 시기의 진로성숙도에 대하여 알아본다. 또한 그것을 실현하는 미술과 중심의 진로교육의 의의와 그 중요성을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 강원도 강릉 소재의 H중학교 1학년 학생 중 자유학기제 미술과 주제선택 프로그램을 수강하고 있는 76명의 학생을 대상으로 시행한 미술 관련 진로 선호도 및 미술 프로그램 선호도 조사와 미술교육과 연계한 진로교육의 필요성을 바탕으로, 진로성숙의 발달을 위한 자유학기제 미술과 주제선택 프로그램을 설계하였다. 셋째, H중학교 1학년 학생 중‘미술 알아보기’반을 수강하고 있는 24명의 학생을 대상으로 2016년 11월부터 2017년 1월까지 12차시의 프로그램을 적용하였으며, 자유학기제 미술과 주제선택 프로그램이 중학교 1학년의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 한국직업능력개발원(2012)에서 개발한 진로성숙도 검사를 이용하여 사전·사후 진로성숙도를 측정하였다. 넷째, 연구가 끝난 후 본 연구자와 미술교사의 평가, 동료 학생들의 평가를 토대로 작품을 분석하여 실기 질적 평가를 진행하였으며, 수집된 진로성숙도 사전·사후 검사 자료를 SPSS VER 19.0 프로그램을 사용하여 대응표본 t-test 검증을 분석하고 본 프로그램의 유의미성을 파악하여 결론을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 사전·사후 검사결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자유학기제 미술과 주제선택 프로그램에 참여한 학생들의 사전과 사후 진로성숙도 전체를 비교했을 때 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났고, 대응표본 t-test검증결과 유의미한 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 진로성숙도 영역에서 태도영역의 총점 및 세 가지 하위영역의 평균이 사전검사의 평균보다 상승하였으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보여 본 프로그램에 참여한 H중학교 1학년 학생들의 계획성과 직업에 대한 태도, 독립성 태도가 모두 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 진로성숙도 영역 중 능력영역의 총점 및 네 개의 하위영역의 사후검사 평균이 사전검사 평균보다 상승하였으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 본 프로그램에 참여한 학생들의 자기성찰 능력과 합리적 의사결정 능력, 정보탐색 및 희망직업에 대한 지식이 실제적으로 증가하였음을 확인할 수 있다. 넷째, 진로성숙도 영역 중 행동영역의 사후검사의 평균이 사전검사의 평균보다 증가하여 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나, 학생들의 진로탐색 및 준비행동능력이 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 종합해보면, 본 연구에 참여한 H중학교 1학년 학생들의 진로성숙도 사전·사후 검사결과 학생들의 진로성숙도가 모든 영역에서 향상되어 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였으므로 본 프로그램의 설계에 대한 검증 확인을 할 수 있었으며, 프로그램이 중학교 1학년 학생들의 자아성찰 및 자기이해, 진로탐색과 진로계획을 가능하게 한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 자유학기제 미술과 주제선택 프로그램은 학생 스스로가 주체가 되어 자아를 이해하고 표현하며 진로를 결정할 수 있다는 점에서 기존의 진로교육이 가진 한계를 극복하고 미술교과를 통한 진로교육의 활용 가능성을 제시한다. 본 프로그램을 통해 학생들이 꿈과 끼를 찾고 자신의 미래를 설계하며 깊이 있는 고민과 성찰의 과정에서 올바르게 진로를 선택할 수 있는 기회가 마련되길 바란다.;Free semester conducted under 2016 middle school education was adopted in order to solve education focused on university entrance, which has been limit of school education and low happiness exponent. Also, it aimed ‘happiness education’, which searching dreams and talents of students. During free semester, instead of being burdened with paper tests, students are able to explore and plan their career paths based on aptitudes and talents. 2015 revised curriculum with free semester allows students to establish their ego identities. In order to grow independent people who can develop themselves and their goals, it aims at developing talents with capacities our society lrequires and focuses on future-oriental capacities such as creativity, personality, communication skill. Therefore, art helps students in career development and route bloom. In order to culture talent suitable for 2015 revised education process, there has been need for variation and systemization of art education program focusing on students’ self search and career development. Therefore, this research tries to develop free semester program for students in 1st year in middle school to actively explore and plan for future. For this, art theme selection program usable for theme selection activity based on educators under free semester course liberalization is developed. It aims to analyze the influence of free semester theme selection program on course maturity. The research methods are following. First, analyze concept and policy of free semester system. Then, based on the analysis, search for career maturity of middle school period and the necessity and concept of career education. Moreover, significance and importance of art centered education have been examined. Second, a survey has been conducted among 78 1st grade students in H middle school locared in Gangneung, Gangwon Province who are participating in free semester art theme selection program. This survey was about their preferences on art career and art program. Based on the survey and the importance of career education related with art education, free semester theme selection program for career development has been established. Third, 12th program has been applied to 24 1st grade students in H middle school taking ‘Art Exploration’ class from November 2016 to January 2017. Furthermore, pre-to-post career maturity has been measured with career maturity inventory by Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (2012) in order to investigate the influence of free semester art thee selection program on career maturity of 1st year students in middle school. Finally after the research, examination on practical skill and quality has been conducted by analyzing pieces based on evaluation of students, teachers and researchers. Collected career maturity inventory results are analyzed with SPSS VER 19.0. Then matching sample t-test examination is analyzed. A conclusion is drawn after analysis and investigation of program’s significance have been conducted. The result of pre-to-post examination is as following. First, statistically significant difference was seen when comparing pre and post career maturity of students participating in free semester art theme selection program. The analysis of matching sample t-test showed significant effects. Second, in career maturity field, the average of attitude and subordinate scopes increased than pretest average and showed significant gap. This indicated students in H middle school who participated in the program had increased independence and attitudes toward career. Third, average result of skill field in career maturity and other four fields increased than pre-test and this showed students who participated had increased in ability of self-examination, information exploration and knowledge on desired jobs. Fourth, the average of post examinations in the behavior field has increased and indicated their course exploration and preparation skill have increased. Overall, as a result of career maturity pre-to-post inventory, career maturity of students has increased in all fields. It showed significant gap and led analysis examination of the program to be done. Also, it has been shown that the program allows students in 1st year in middle school to self-examine, understand, explore career and plan for future. Free semester art theme selection program lets students to be themselves and choose career and express themselves. This shows the possibility of applying career education through art and overcoming the limits of original career education. I expect students can not only plan their futures and discover their dreams and talents but also chance of choosing the right career through the period of self-examination through this program.
