욕망이론을 적용한 무용창작작품 「간극(間隙)」에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 욕망이론을 적용한 무용창작작품인「간극(間隙)」에 관한 연구이다. 이 작품은 이화여자대학교 무용학과 실기석사 작품발표회에서 발표한 것으로 2016년 6월 9일에 초연되었다. 무용창작작품「간극(間隙)」은 욕망이 만연한 오늘날의 사회에서 '자신의 욕망이 어디에서 비롯되었는가?'에 대한 의문으로 시작해, 무의식과 관련된 욕망이 연구자 자신의 것인지 혹은 타인의 욕망을 갈망하는 것인지에 관한 간극을 소재로 다룬다. 이에 연구자는 욕망의 대상을 오브제로 상정하여 무용수와 오브제의 거리감으로 간극을 나타내고자 하였으며, 이 간극에서 분열하던 무용수는 욕망의 대상을 마주하고자 환상을 이행하는 것을 작품의 내용으로 상정하였다. 그리하여 작품의 주제는 자신과 타인의 욕망의 간극에서 욕망의 실체를 대면함으로 온전하고 합일된 주체의 모습을 이루는 것이다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 욕망이론을 고찰하고 이를 작품에 적용해 이론과 작품을 연계하여 안무의 타당성을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 본 논문은 문헌을 바탕으로 욕망이론의 토대를 이루는 무의식과 주체론을 살피고 욕망이 형성되는 과정에 관한 연구를 진행하였으며, 욕망이론이 반영된 예술작품들을 분석하여 욕망이 발현된 형태를 고찰하였다. 더불어 본 논문에서 연구된 예술작품들을 통해 '무의식의 발현', '반복 강박적 형태', '환상', '타자의 욕망을 덧입은 주체' 등의 특징을 도출하였다. 이것을 기준으로 무용창작작품「간극(間隙)」의 주제 및 내용, 음악 및 장면구성, 오브제와 의상, 움직임과 이동경로를 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 이끌어냈다. 첫째, 작품의 주제 및 내용에서는 타자의 욕망과 분열하는 주체의 간극을 소재로 욕망의 대상을 마주하고자 환상을 이행하는 내용이 구현되었다. 그리하여 주체로 상정된 무용수와 타자의 욕망을 나타내는 오브제의 간극에서 욕망의 실체를 대면함으로 온전하고 합일된 주체의 모습으로 도달하는 주제를 이끌어 내었다. 둘째, 음악 및 장면구성에서 욕망이론의 주체와 욕망이 형성되는 단계가 작품의 구조에 반영되었다. 작품의 장면별 구조는 음악의 ABA 작곡 형식을 따라 욕망과 주체가 형성되고, 분열되고, 다시 본래의 단계로 회귀하는 단계로 안무되었다. 따라서 '타인의 욕망을 덧입은 무용수가, 타자의 욕망을 갈망하는 과정을 통해, 다시 본래의 주체를 대면'하는 장면별 의미가 도출됨으로 욕망이론과 작품이 구조적으로 연계되었다고 할 수 있다. 셋째, 오브제와 의상을 통해 '주체와 타자의 간극과 합일'을 극명하게 시각화 하였다. 욕망을 나타내는 노란색의 의상과 순수성을 나타내는 은색 오브제의 상징적 의미와 색채를 통해 상반되지만 조화를 이루도록 제작하였다. 또한 작품의 주제와 결론으로 도달하기 위해 오브제와 무용수가 이질적인 욕망과 주체를 나타내는 것이 아니라 합일의 가능성을 내포하도록 제작하였다. 넷째, 무용수의 움직임과 이동경로를 분석한 결과 '무의식의 발현', '반복 강박적 형태'의 움직임과 동선이 나타났다. 또한 무대의 상·하수 끝 지점을 직선으로 연결해 형성되는 거리로 간극을 재현하였으며, 간극을 환유하는 반복적인 움직임으로 강박적 형태를 드러내어 욕망이 또 다른 욕망으로 대체되는 장면을 연출하고자 하였다. 즉 무용창작작품「간극(間隙)」은 주제 및 내용, 음악 및 장면구성, 오브제와 의상, 움직임과 이동경로에 있어 욕망이론을 적용한 작품을 제작하였다. 따라서 욕망의 본질에 대한 의문점에서 시작하여 타인의 욕망과 분열된 주체의 간극을 통해 다시 합일의 주체를 형성하는 과정이 작품에 나타났다. 이에 따라 작품과 이론을 연계하여 안무를 구성함으로써, 연구자 자신의 진정한 주체를 발견하고 나와 타인의 관계를 포용하는 삶을 살 수 있는 메시지를 전달하기에 본 논문의 의의가 있다.;This thesis is about desire theory applied to newly choreographed work「Gangeuk(間隙)」. This work was premiered on June 9th, 2016 at Ewha Womans University's Master's presentation of work of dance department. Newly choreographed work「Gangeuk(間隙)」 starts with doubt about 'Where is one’s desire derived from?' in today's society, where desire is rampant, and deals with a desire related to unconsciousness belongs to whether the researcher, oneself's or longing on others's desire, handled on regarding to the and subject's divided gap material. A dancer who was fragmented in this gap, postulated following fantasy as the content of artwork in order to confront the object of desire. Therefore, the theme of artwork is to achieve the image of subject, which is intact and united by confronting the true nature of desire within the gap of desire of oneself and others. Its purpose is to reveal the validity of chronography by associating the dance work and theory, examining and utilizing desire theory. This thesis investigated unconsciousness and subject theory made foundation of desire theory based on literature and proceeded with the study regarding process of desire formation. With this background, the study analyzed the work of art reflected on desire theory, and considered desire's type and form that is manifested quality. Furthermore, through researched works of art of this thesis, we deducted characteristics of 'unconsciousness of revelation', 'repeated compulsive form', 'illusion', 'put on other's desire subject', analyzed the Newly choreographed work 「Gangeuk(間隙)」's examining the theme and content, music and scene composition, object and costumes, movement and moving route results are as follows. First of all, in terms of the theme and content of dance work, the message of following fantasy to confront the object of desire based on subject's gap that is fragmented from others' desire was embodied. Therefore, it derived the theme of reaching the image of subject that is intact and united, by confronting the true nature of desire in object's gap that shows desire of dancers and others who are proposed as subject. Second of all, music and scene constitution process of a dance work used structure reflected on steps being formed desire and subject in desire theory. A structure of dance work's each scene is formed to desire and subject according to music ABA composition form and it is divided and it is choreographed to go back to originally level step. Therefore, 'In forming process of subject, subject put on other's desire subject encounter original subject through process of longing other's desire' the significance of each scene is deducted, the desire theory and a dance work can be structural linked. Third of all, through an object and costume, 'subject and other's gap and solution' is clearly visualized. Yellow costume which represents desire and silver which represents purity which color is symbolical to an objet and directed to make harmony. Also, to arrive to the subject of a dance work and content of a conclusion, an objet and dancer is not showing different in kind desire but manufactured to involve to union's possibility. Fourth of all, the result of analysis on movement of a dancer and moving route is 'unconsciousness of revelation', 'repeated compulsive form''s movement and moving line appeared. Also, showing gap through the distance making of the first part of a stage space connected to top and bottom's end spot in a straight line and repeated movement have metonymy gap of distance showing scenes of desire is substituted by other desire. In other words, newly choreographed work「Gangeuk(間隙)」is manufactured by the use of music, scene composition, movement, moving route, an objet, costume are all made from desire theory. This dance work started with the doubt of an essence of desire and it is again handled formation of the whole subject through other's desire and division on subject's gap. Accordingly, the study is meaningful in that it conveys the message of life that embraces the relationship with others and discovers the authentic subject of the researcher, by oneself, through composing choreography, associating the dance work and theory.
