The use of mobile technology has transformed how young generations learn. Children do not hesitate to pick up a smartphone or a tablet PC to access information regardless of time and place. Studies also prove that learning with mobile technology helps young students direct their own study, interact with others more actively, access extra information, show improved research analysis skills and readily engage in problem solving and critical thinking. However, as these young learners become more accustomed to learning with mobile technology, teachers experience stress from incorporating it into teaching. This is called technostress. Technostress occurs when an individual feels an inability to deal with the use of new technology in a healthy manner and is caused by five technostress creators: techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty. Many researchers have measured the level of technostress via these five creators in various contexts. However, there is a lack of studies investigating the predictive power of technostress creators in job satisfaction and teacher efficacy of primary school teachers in Korea. Job satisfaction and teacher efficacy are two critical constructs in forming the attitude of teachers, which in turn affects the performance of learners; therefore, it is critical to see how technostress creators predict the two constructs. Thus, the research questions for this study are as follows: (a) Do the five creators of technostress (techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty) predict job satisfaction of primary school teachers in Korea? (b) Do the five creators of technostress (techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty) predict teacher efficacy of primary school teachers in Korea? In order to gather data for the seven variables—namely the five technostress creators, job satisfaction, and teacher efficacy—, instruments from prior studies were adapted and administered online to 164 primary school teachers in Korea. Multiple regression analysis indicated that techno-complexity alone predicted both job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. The findings yield some implications to the educators and managers of Korea’s primary school, especially for those who plan to introduce mobile technology (e.g., digital textbooks) into the classrooms. To avoid technostress, teachers need to understand how mobile technology operates, how it can be used for teaching, and how effective it is for students. It is increasingly difficult to avoid incorporating mobile technology into teaching as more learners turn to it for learning. With adequate training and a forum to learn and share about the use of mobile technology in the classroom, the level of technostress in primary school teachers in Korea can be reduced. In turn, job satisfaction and teacher efficacy will be enhanced.;정보통신기술과 모바일 테크놀로지의 급속한 발전은 교육현장에 놀라운 변화를 가져왔다.
