재구성된 일상의 흔적

Abstract

본 논문은 베개에 남겨진 흔적의 의미를 중심으로 내용적 연구를 진행하고 작업과정의 분석을 통해 본인만의 특징적인 회화구조를 정립하는데 그 목적이 있다. 베개는 수면시간을 통해 생겨난 움푹 파이거나 주름진 형상, 얼룩들을 남기게 된다. 이러한 흔적들은 감성적 지각으로 인해 본인에게 있어 다양한 심리적 양상을 일으키는 특별한 대상이 된다. 베개의 흔적이 만들어지는 수면의 과정은 비물질적이고 순수한 무의식적 행동들이 발현되는 시간이다. 이러한 시간 속에서 만들어진 흔적들은 불안, 초조, 어떤 조짐과 유사한 감성적 지각을 촉발시키게 된다. 흔적을 만들어내는 주체로서 신체는 무의식적 움직임을 통해 의도되지 않은 함축 된 무언가를 표현한다. 신체는 무의식을 내재한 비물질적 세계를 의식하는 주체가 되며 무의식 그 자체가 된다. 본인의 작업은 무의식적인 행위들로 인하여 베개의 흔적이 만들어지는 과정을 조형적으로 전환하고자 하였다. 이는 베개의 흔적이 만들어지는 과정과 유사한 작업과정을 통해 일상의 흔적에서 마주했던 순간의 감정들을 화면에 담아낼 수 있을 것이라는 가정에서 출발한다. 무의식의 발현을 위해 작위성을 축소시키고자 하였으며 이는 우연성의 반복적 행위가 강조된 작업으로 구체화 되었다. 실제 베개의 흔적을 재현하는 과정에서 우연성을 강조하는 표현으로 전환되는 과정은 부조(浮彫)화된 입체가 다시 평면화 되는 방식을 통해 진행되었며 이때 사용되는 한지는 질김, 유연함, 수직 수평적 질료 이동이 가능한 섬유구조의 특징들을 가지고 있으며 본인 회화의 바탕이 되는 재료로서 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 본인은 마치 수면중 무의식적 행위들을 매일 사진으로 기록하듯이 흔적들을 반복적으로 화면에 남기고 있다. 이러한 작업의 형태는 하나는 매일 다른 종이에 또 하나는 매일 같은 종이에 우연적인 현상을 이용하는 두 가지 방식으로 진행되었다. 축적된 결과물들을 평면화 시키고 하나로 배접하는 일련의 작업과정은 시간을 중첩시키는 행위이며 이를 통해 만들어진 결과물은 시간의 퇴적층처럼 매일 일어나는 감성적 지각의 두께이자 일상을 무의식으로 환기하는 누적된 기록물로서 의미를 가지게 된다. 본 논문은 감성적 지각이 무의식과 관련되어 작업을 형성하는 조형적 단서들을 찾아내고, 이러한 조형적 단서들을 일련의 과정들을 통해 화면에 재구성해 내는 본인만의 특별한 회화구조를 정리하였다는 것에 의의를 가진다.;The purpose of this paper is to have my characteristic painting structure.
