César Franck Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major에 대한 연구 분석

Abstract

세자르 프랑크(César Franck 1822~1890)는 19세기 후반 낭만 대표적인 작곡가로 오르가니스트이자 음악학 교수인 종교 음악가였다. 그는 실내악, 교향곡 등 순수 기악곡 발전에 큰 공헌을 하였으며, 프랑스 음악에 중요한 토대를 마련하였다. 그의 바이올린 소나타는 베토벤, 브람스의 곡들과 함께 3대 바이올린 소나타 곡이다. 본 논문에서 다룰 프랑크의 Violin Sonata in A Major는 그의 후기 낭만 작품이자 유일한 바이올린 소나타로 그의 교향곡 d단조(César Franck-Symphony in d minor , Op. 48)와 마찬가지로 순환 기법으로 작곡되었다. 프랑크만의 대위법적인 진행과 리듬의 확대와 축소, 반음계적인 화성을 사용한 고전 형식과 구조를 중요시 하는 작곡 스타일을 기반으로 낭만주의 시대 특징인 순환 기법이 각 악장에 A, B, C 3개의 순환동기로 변형, 반복, 결합하면서 전체적인 곡에 구조적인 통일성을 이루고 있다. 조성에 있어서도 단순한 5도 구조가 아닌 3도 관계조를 사용하면서 후기 낭만주의의 색체적인 화성과 자유로운 전조를 사용하여 화려하게 작곡된 곡이다. 형식면에서도 고전시대의 일반적인 소나타 3악장 구성에서 벗어나 4악장으로 작곡되었으며, 바이올린 소나타이지만 피아노의 비중 또한 크며, 절묘한 고전주의 음악형식과 낭만주의 음악의 특징이 두드러진 이곡은 바이올린 소나타로 작곡 되었지만 다양한 솔로 악기로 편곡하여 연주될 만큼 음악적 가치가 뛰어난 작품이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 프랑크의 생애와 시대적 배경, 그의 바이올린 소나타를 중점적으로 분석하여 곡 전체에 걸쳐 나오는 순환동기들을 살펴보고 조성의 변화와 음악적 특징들을 정리하여 작곡가가 의도하는 것을 이해하고 곡을 연주하는데 도움을 주기 위한 것을 목적으로 한다.;Cesar Franck (1822~1890) is a representative composer in the era of late romanticism and religious musician as a professor of musicology. He influenced instrumental music such as chamber and orchestral music, so that he could form the basis of French music. His Violin Sonata is the one of the three major violin sonatas among the Beethoven and Brahms. In this thesis dealing with Late work of Frank, <Violin Sonata in A Major> is his representative piece and the only violin sonata, which shows cyclic form same as in Cesar Franck-Symphony in d minor , Op. 48. Based on His style of counterpoint progress, expansion and reduce of rhythm, chromatic chord of classical form, and structure-centered, as the feature of the romanticism era, the cyclic form is using from every movements has 3 cyclic form -A,B,C- with transformation, repetition and combination so that it makes a unity of this piece. In tonality, he used 3rd related keys, not just simple 5th. This piece is splendid and composed with colorful harmony in late romanticism era and free modulation. In formality, this piece is out of the frame of normal sonata 3 movements form in classical period and composed 4 movements formation, accompany of the piano has importance though it’s a Violin sonata. This Violin sonata based on classical music form and romanticism characters, supposed to compose for violin but arrange a lot to another solo instrument music because of it’s high musical value. Thus, in this research analyze the life of Frank and his background of the era with his violin sonata, search for cyclic motives in the whole music and arrange of musical features and change of tonality, so that can understand composer's intention and help to play this music.
