Antonín Dvořák의 <Zigeunerlieder> Op. 55에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 체코의 대표적인 민족주의 작곡가인 드보르작(Antonín Dvořák, 1841-1904)의 연가곡 <Zigeunerlieder(집시의 노래)> Op. 55에 대한 연구이다. 19세기 후반 유럽은 각국에서 커다란 정치적 변화가 일어난 시기이다. 합스부르크 왕가의 몰락으로 유럽 전역은 독립과 민족의 해방을 목표로 하는 움직임이 나타나기 시작하였다. 당시 독일, 이탈리아, 프랑스를 중심으로 절정을 이루고 있던 낭만주의 음악에 대항하여 유럽 주변 국가들의 작곡가들은 자신의 국가에 대한 강한 민족적인 특성이 담겨있는 독창적인 음악을 만들게 되었다. 이것이 19세기에 나타난 민족주의 음악이다. 러시아를 비롯하여 동, 북유럽의 작곡가들이 민족주의 음악에 앞장섰다. 드보르작은 체코 출신의 작곡가로서 서유럽 음악의 작곡기법을 따르면서 자국의 민속적인 소재를 사용하여 음악을 작곡하고 세계에 널리 알렸다. 그의 음악에는 보헤미아의 춤곡 리듬, 민속선율, 민속 악기에서 비롯된 드론베이스와 유사한 반주음형 등의 특징이 많이 나타난다. 1880년에 작곡된 드보르작의 <Zigeunerlieder(집시의 노래)>는 보헤미아의 서정시인 헤이독(A. Heyduk,1835-1920)의 7편의 시에 가사를 붙인 연가곡으로 그의 민족주의 색채가 가장 잘 나타나는 작품 중 하나이다. 이 작품을 연구하기 위하여 먼저 시를 분석하고 시와 반주부의 연관성, 리듬과 음계의 특징 그리고 가사에 대한 표현 등을 살펴보았다. 이 연구를 통하여 드보르작의 <Zigeunerlieder (집시의 노래)>는 집시들의 자유분방한 생활과 자유를 갈망하는 정신의 시를 음악으로 잘 표현하였고, 정열적이고 흥겨운 무곡풍의 리듬과 집시악기를 음형으로 표현하는 등 피아노 반주부의 색채적인 화려함이 다채롭게 사용되면서 민족적인 특성이 잘 드러난 작품임을 알 수 있다.;This thesis focuses on <Zigeunerlieder> Op. 55, composed by Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904), Nationalism composer from Czech Republic. The Nineteenth Century is the era of major political transitions; downfall of Habsburg Empire triggered the liberation movement throughout the European countries. Composers around the Europe, especially from Eastern and Northern European countries, begun to employ nationalistic aspects in their musical pieces against the Romantic music, which reached its peak during that time, and introduced the Nationalism in music. Antonín Dvořák, born in Czech Republic, created his very own style of music, blending elements of traditional Western European composing style and national sprits of Czech Republic. His music displays Bohemian dance rhythm and similar accompaniment motif to drone bass that was originated from national instruments. Dvořák’s <Zigeunerlieder>, composed in 1880, is a song cycle with a motif from a Bohemian Romantic poet, A. Heyduk’s seven poems, and it is one of the pieces that well displays nationalistic color. Prior to the study of the musical piece, the original poem was analyzed, and the connection with the accompaniment, and the expression of the lyrics were reviewed. The research has shown that <Ziguenerlieder> effectively expressed the freewheeling lifestyle of Gypsies, and their poems craving liberty. This piece also exhibits Nationalistic color by employing diverse characteristics including passionate and joyful rhythm of dance music styles.
