부와 모의 양육행동이 남녀 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The main purpose of the study was to examine the effects of paternal behaviors and maternal parenting behaviors on delinquency of boys and girls adolescents' including a mediating role of moral disengagement. A total of 771 middle school students (360 boys and 411 girls) participated in this study. They responded to questionnaires that included measures of paternal behaviors and maternal parenting behaviors, moral disengagement and delinquency by themeselves. Data were analyzed by t-test, correlation, structural equation model (SEM) using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. The main findings of this study were as as follows: First, paternal and maternal parenting behaviors did not have a direct effects on adolescents' delinquency. Second, maternal parenting behaviors had an indirect effect on adolescents' delinquency through moral disengagement. Adolescents who perceived affectionate, ratonal maternal parenting behaviors showed lower level of moral disengagement, and lower level of moral disengagement contributed to adolescents' delinquency. Lastly, multi-group analysis revealed that there were significant gender differences in indirect pathways from paternal and maternal parenting behaviors to adolescents' delinquency through moral disengagement. For boys, maternal parenting behaviors influenced adolescents' delinquency through moral disengagement, and for girls, paternal parenting behaviors influenced adolescents' delinquency through moral disengagement. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the importance of moral disengagement as a mediator between paternal parenting behaviors, maternal parenting behaviors and adolescents' delinquency. And there were significant gender differences in pathways between boys and girls. These findings suggest that intervention programs of adolescents' delinquency need to focus on differential aspects based on gender of adolescents. Especially, the findings that boys were influenced by maternal parenting behaviors and girls were significantly affected by paternal parenting behaviors supported the opposite sex linkage hypothesis. ;본 연구의 목적은 부와 모의 양육행동 및 도덕적 이탈이 청소년의 비행에 영향을 미치는 경로와 이러한 경로에서 남녀 청소년의 성차를 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 부산광역시에 위치한 중학교에 재학 중인 771명의 남녀 중학생(남: 360명, 여: 411명)으로 질문지법을 이용한 자기보고를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 부와 모의 양육행동은 Schaefer (1959)의 이론을 토대로 오성심과 이종승(1982)이 개발한 검사를 임선화(1988)가 재편성한 후, 반복되는 문항을 간추린 오정희와 박중규(2007)의 척도를 사용하였고, 도덕적 이탈은 Bandura 등(1996)이 개발한 도덕적 이탈 척도(Mechanisms of Moral Disengagement Scale [MMDS])를 우리나라 청소년에게 적합하도록 서미정과 김경연(2006)이 번안 및 수정한 척도를 사용하여 측정하였으며, 청소년의 비행은 오프라인비행과 온라인비행이 포함된 김효수 등(2010)의 척도를 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석하기 위하여 구조방정식 모형(Structural Equation Modeling [SEM])을 분석하였고, 간접효과의 유의성을 검증하기 위해 부트스트래핑(bootstrapping)방법을 설정하여, 성차를 살펴보기 위한 다중집단분석(multiple group analysis)을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 따른 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저, 부와 모의 양육행동은 청소년의 비행에 직접적인 영향은 미치지 않았으나, 모의 양육행동이 도덕적 이탈을 통해 청소년의 비행에 간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 청소년 자녀가 어머니의 양육행동을 애정적, 합리적으로 지각할수록 도덕적 이탈 수준이 낮았으며, 도덕적 이탈 수준이 낮을수록 청소년의 비행도 낮았다. 다음으로, 부와 모의 양육행동이 도덕적 이탈을 통해 청소년의 비행에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 성차가 나타났다. 남자 청소년의 경우에는 어머니의 양육행동을 애정적, 합리적으로 지각할수록 도덕적 이탈이 낮았으며, 이는 남자 청소년의 비행 감소로 이어졌다. 반면, 여자 청소년의 경우에는 아버지의 양육행동을 애정적, 합리적으로 지각할수록 도덕적 이탈 수준이 낮았으며, 이는 여자 청소년의 비행 감소로 이어졌다. 본 연구는 부와 모의 양육행동이 도덕적 이탈을 통해 청소년의 비행에 영향을 미치는 경로를 확인하였고, 그 경로에 있어 성차를 발견하였다. 또한 청소년 비행에 영향을 미치는 선행변인으로 환경적 요인인 부모의 양육행동과 개인 내적요인인 도덕적 이탈의 영향력을 함께 살펴봄으로써, 청소년의 비행에 대한 도덕적 이탈의 상대적 영향력을 확인하였으며, 이를 통해 청소년 비행의 예방 및 감소를 위해 도덕적 인지 측면의 중요성을 확인하였다. 아울러, 부모의 양육행동을 부와 모로 구분하여 측정함으로써 청소년의 비행에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 부모의 상대적 영향력을 확인하였으며, 남녀 청소년의 비행에 이르는 경로에 있어 이성부모의 양육행동에 대한 영향력을 확인하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 이러한 결과를 통해 본 연구는 청소년 비행의 예방 및 감소를 위한 이성부모의 애정적, 합리적 양육행동에 대한 부모교육프로그램과 청소년의 도덕적 인지 훈련 및 개입의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
