대학생의 성인애착이 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 성인애착(애착 불안, 애착 회피)이 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향에서 인지적 정서조절 전략(적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략)의 매개적 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 총 300명의 대학생을 대상으로 질문지법을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 대학생의 성인애착을 측정하기 위해 Brennan, Clark과 Shaver(1998)가 개발하고 Fraley, Brennan과 Waller(2000)가 수정한 친밀한 관계에서의 경험-개정판(Experiences In Close Relationship-Revised [ECR-R])을 김성현(2004)이 번안한 척도를 사용하였다. 인지적 정서조절 전략을 측정하기 위해서 Garnefski, Kraaij와 Spinhoven(2001)이 개발한 인지적 정서조절 전략 척도(Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire [CERQ])를 김소희(2004)가 번안한 척도를 사용하였다. 대인관계문제를 측정하기 위해서 홍상황 등(2002)이 타당화한 한국판 대인관계문제원형 척도-단축형(Short form of the Korea Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex scale [KIIP-SC])을 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램으로 t검정과 상관관계를 분석하였고 SPSS PROCESS Macro v.2.16.3 프로그램으로 다중매개모형(multiple mediator model)을 분석하였으며 간접효과의 유의성을 확인하기 위해 부트스트랩핑(bootstrapping)을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 대한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 성인애착이 대인관계문제에 미치는 직접적 영향에서 애착 불안과 애착 회피 모두 대인관계문제에 유의하게 영향을 미쳐, 애착 불안과 애착 회피 수준이 높은 대학생일수록 대인관계문제를 더 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 애착 불안이 애착 회피보다 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향력이 상대적으로 더 큰 것으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 대학생의 성인애착이 인지적 정서조절 전략에 미치는 영향은 유의하였다. 애착 불안과 애착 회피가 높을수록 대학생들은 적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략을 더 적게, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략을 더 많이 사용하였다. 또한 애착 불안과 애착 회피의 영향력에 있어서, 애착 회피보다 애착 불안이 적응적, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략에 모두 더 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 인지적 정서조절 전략이 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향도 유의하였다. 적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략을 많이 사용할수록, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략을 적게 사용할수록 대인관계문제 수준은 낮아졌다. 마지막으로, 대학생의 성인애착이 대인관계에 미치는 영향이 인지적 정서조절 전략에 의해 매개되었다. 즉, 애착 불안과 애착 회피가 높을수록 적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략은 덜 사용하고 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략은 더 사용하였고, 그 결과 높은 대인관계문제를 보였다. 본 연구는 대학생의 성인애착과 대인관계문제의 관계에서 인지적 정서조절 전략의 매개적 역할을 확인하였으며, 애착 불안과 애착 회피가 인지적 정서조절 전략과 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향이 차이가 있음을 밝혔다. 본 연구의 결과는 애착 불안 및 애착 회피와 같은 불안정 애착으로 대인관계문제를 호소하고 있는 대학생들의 적응을 위한 개인 상담, 집단 상담, 대인관계를 주제로 한 교육 및 훈련 프로그램의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.;The main purpose of this study was to examine relations among undergraduate students’ adult attachment, cognitive emotion regulation strategies, and interpersonal problems. In addition, mediating effects of cognitive emotion regulation strategies on the relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal problems were explored. A total of 300 undergraduate students (182 male and 117 female) participated in this study. They completed a questionnaire regarding their adult attachment, cognitive emotion regulation strategies and interpersonal problems. Data were analyzed using SPSS program 22.0 and SPSS Process Macro v2.16.3 program. The main results of this study were as follows: First, undergraduate students’ adult attachment was significantly related to interpersonal problems. Students who had higher levels of attachment-related anxiety and avoidance experienced more interpersonal problems. Attachment anxiety had a greater influence on interpersonal problems than attachment avoidance. Second, adult attachment was significantly associated with cognitive emotion regulation strategies. The higher attachment anxiety and avoidance, the less the adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and the more maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies were used. Third, cognitive emotion regulation strategies were significantly related to interpersonal problems. The more adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and the less maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies were employed, the lower level of interpersonal problems. Forth, cognitive emotion regulation strategies partially mediated the relations between attachment-related anxiety and avoidance and interpersonal problems and mediating effects were significant. This study highlights the importance of adult attachment in interpersonal relationships for undergraduate students. Based on the results from this study, it would be important to further develop programs to help reduce the interpersonal problems of undergraduates at the counselling and educational environment.
