독해력 향상을 위한 초급 한국어 끊어 읽기 기준 선정 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 한국어 초급 학습자들의 효율적인 읽기를 돕기 위한 고민에서 시작하였다. 한국어를 처음 배우는 학습자들이 시작 단계에서부터 한국어의 문장 구성을 바르게 이해하고 올바른 읽기 습관을 가질 수 있도록 한국어 끊어 읽기의 기준을 선정하는 데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 1장에서는 연구의 목적과 필요성에 대해 밝히고 이와 관련한 선행 연구를 살펴보았다. 독해력 향상을 위한 끊어 읽기 지도 연구에서 끊어 읽기가 읽기의 이해도, 흥미도, 향상도 측면에서 매우 유용한 방법이며 독해력 향상에 도움이 됨을 밝혔다. 한국어 끊어 읽기 방법을 논의한 연구에서는 끊어 읽기의 방법으로 형태적, 통사적, 담화적 쉼의 위치에서 끊어 읽기 등을 제안하고 있으나 학습자가 스스로 적용할 수 있는 끊어 읽기의 방법을 구체적으로 논의한 연구는 매우 적어 이에 대한 필요성을 확인하고 연구 문제를 선정하였다. 2장에서는 먼저 독해력의 개념과 중요성에 대해 알아보고 독해력에 영향을 주는 요인에 대해 살펴보았다. 이는 문장 구조에 대한 이해, 구문 지식에 관한 것으로 독자는 의미 덩어리를 통해 글의 예측력과 통사 구문 및 의미 관계에 대한 지식을 갖게 되는데 이러한 의미 덩어리를 인지하는 방법으로 많은 연구에서 끊어 읽기를 제시하였다. 이에 끊어 읽기의 개념과 중요성을 정리하고 끊어 읽기의 기능과 기준을 살펴 본 연구의 기반을 마련하였다. 3장에서는 연구 방법에 대해 기술하였다. 대학 기관에서 사용하는 한국어 초급 교재에서 읽기 텍스트 10개를 발췌하여 연구 자료를 구축하고 전문가 집단을 구성하였다. 자료 분석은 문헌연구에 따른 끊어 읽기의 적용과 한국어 교사의 끊어 읽기 위치 조사 및 문헌연구와의 비교를 통해 이루어졌다. 4장에서는 문헌연구의 열 가지 기준이 실제 한국어 초급 읽기 자료에 어떻게 적용되었는지를 기준별로 살펴보았다. 또 한국어 교사의 끊어 읽기 위치를 살펴보고 이를 문헌연구와 비교하여 어떠한 공통점과 차이점이 있는지를 분석하였다. 최종적으로 이 둘을 종합하여 한국어 끊어 읽기의 기준을 선정하고 이를 다시 한국어 초급 학습자들이 이해할 수 있는 쉬운 언어로 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 한국어 초급 학습자들이 끊어 읽기의 규칙을 익혀 능동적이고 주도적인 한국어 읽기 학습이 이루어지기를 기대한다.;The purpose of this study is to help learners of elementary level of Korean learn read effectively. This study aims to set slashing criteria of reading Korean so that the learners who learn Korean for the first time can correctly understand the composition of Korean sentences and have proper reading habits. In Chapter 1, the purpose and necessity of the research and previous related studies were examined. It was investigated that slashing is a very useful way to improve reading comprehension, interest, and improvement in the research on instructing the slashing reading skill. In a study discussing how to read Korean by slashing, this study proposes to slash while reading at the position of morphological, syntactic, and discourse resting points; however, there are few studies that specifically discuss the method of slashing that can be applied by learners by themselves, so this study identifies the need for this and selected it as the research topic. In Chapter 2, this study first explores the concept and importance of reading comprehension, and examines the factors that influence reading comprehension. This is related to understanding of sentence structures and knowledge of syntax; readers having predictive power for reading and knowledge about syntactic structures and semantic relationship, slashing has been suggested in many studies as a method to perceive semantic chunks. Therefore, the concept and importance of slashing are reviewed and this became the basis of the study. In Chapter 3, describes the research method of this study. Among textbooks of elementary level used by university institutes, 10 texts were extracted, and the research data were collected and a group of experts were formed. The data analysis was done through application of the method of slashing according to literature study and the comparison of a Korean teacher's slashing position and literature study. In Chapter 4, this study examined how ten criteria of the literature study were actually applied to reading materials of Korean. In addition, the points where Korean teachers slash were investigated and this study compared them with the literature study to see what common points and differences exist. Finally, the two were combined to select the criterion for slashing when reading Korean and presented it as an easy language that can be understood by learners of elementary level. Through this study, it is expected that elementary level learners of Korean language learn and practice the rules of slashing so that they can achieve active reading.
