SSI 주제 합의회의 형식 토론수업에서 나타나는 외국어 고등학교 학생들의 집단 의사결정 과정 탐색

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 SSI 주제 합의회의 형식 토론 수업에서 나타나는 집단 의사결정 과정을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 서울 지역 A 외국어 고등학교 1학년 3개 학급, 18 모둠, 78명 학생을 대상으로 진행된‘배아줄기세포 연구 허용 여부’에 대한 SSI 주제 합의회의 형식 토론 수업을 참관하였다. 참관한 모든 수업 내용은 녹음 및 녹화되었고 이는 전사를 거쳐 문서화 되었다. 수업 전사본 외에 학생들이 작성한 수업 활동지, 조별 합의문과 개별 글쓰기 등을 수집하였고 이 자료들은 집단 지성 준거 틀을 이용하여 분석되었다. 연구결과, 집단 의사결정 과정을 다양성 측면에서 바라보았을 때 모둠 구성원들은 주제에 대하여 다양한 입장을 가지며, 여러 가지 관점에서 문제를 바라보는 모습을 보여주었다. 이어 집단 의사결정 과정을 독립의 측면에서 바라보았을 때 타인의 영향에 흔들리지 않고 각자 자신의 의견을 자유롭게 말하는 민주적인 모습이나 자신의 주장을 다른 조원들에게 강요하고 자신과 다른 입장의 의견은 무시하는 비민주적인 모습이 나타났다. 또한, 분산의 측면에서 집단 의사결정 과정을 바라보았을 때 집단 내 구성원들은 각자 고유한 역할을 가지고 의사결정 과정에 영향을 주었다. 구성원들은 다른 조원들에게 과학적 지식과 토론의 모범적 태도를 안내하는 모습, 상대방의 의견을 경청하며 호응해주는 모습, SSI 주제에 집중하여 수업에 몰입하는 모습들을 보여주었다. 또 집단 의사결정 과정을 통합의 측면에서 바라보았을 때 조원들은 상대방을 논리적으로 설득하려는 과정, 상대방이 제기한 근거의 타당성을 확인하는 과정, 자신들의 입장을 협력적으로 강화해가는 과정을 보이며 의사결정을 해나갔다. 이 연구의 결과는 구성원의 다양한 경험과 특성이 서로 독립적으로 표현되고 집단 구성원 간의 상호작용을 통해 통합될 때 합리적인 집단 의사결정이 이루어지는 것을 보여주었다. SSI 주제에 대한 집단 의사결정 과정의 이러한 이해는 SSI 교육을 구성하는데 있어서 지식적 기초를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.;The purpose of this study is to understand the collective decision-making process in the SSI discussion class. To this end, the researcher observed a SSI discussion class for the first three classes of students in the first grade of the A foreign language high schools, 18 groups, and 78 students. The whole class was recorded and documented after transcribed. In addition to group agreements, and individual writing sections were collected and the data was also analyzed together with the documented class transcription. As a result of the study, SSI theme consensus discussion group, when viewed from the aspect of diversity, showed active interactions with various viewpoints on the topic and looked at problems from various perspectives. When we looked at the process of group decision making from the standpoint of independence, all the members who showed active interaction showed their participation in activities with their own voices. Also, when we look at the process of group decision making in terms of differentiation, members in the group have their own roles and influence the decision making process. In the case of the group with active argumentative activities, the role of guiding the exemplary attitude of scientific knowledge and discussion appeared, and it was also seen that they were immersed in the class by concentrating on SSI theme and listening to their opinions. In addition, when the group decision-making process is looked at from the perspective of integration, the process in which the team members actively persuade the other party, the process of confirming the validity of the grounds raised by the other party, It showed the process of making decision making while strengthening. Based on the results of this study, it is believed that expressing the diverse experiences and characteristics of the members independently and judging them according to individual criteria influences the group interaction to be active and to make rational group decision making. Understanding group decision-making processes is expected to contribute to the development of democratic citizens who make reasonable decisions by constructing the right teaching-learning methods and contents in constructing SSI education.
