중학생의 부모애착과 또래관계의 질의 관계

Abstract

중학생의 또래관계는 심리사회적 발달과 적응을 예측하는 중요한 요인으로, 이 시기의 또래관계에 영향을 주는 환경적, 개인 내적 요인들에 대한 연구의 필요성이 대두되었다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 부모애착이 초기 청소년기에 해당하는 중학생의 또래관계의 질을 예측하는데 있어 중요한 변인이라는 기존 연구들을 바탕으로, 부모애착과 또래관계의 질의 관계를 살펴보고, 그 관계에서 감사성향과 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절이 매개역할을 하는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 경기, 충청에 위치한 중학교 4곳에 재학 중인 중학교 1, 2, 3학년 403명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 기반으로 먼저 각 변인들의 기술통계분석과 상관분석을 실시하였고, 각 변인들의 구조적 관계를 확인하기 위해 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였으며, 부모애착과 또래관계의 질의 관계에서 감사성향과 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 매개효과 유의성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상관분석을 실시하여 변인들 간의 상호관련성을 확인한 결과 부모애착, 또래관계의 질, 감사성향, 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 모든 변인들 간 상관이 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 부모애착, 또래관계의 질, 감사성향, 적응적 인지적 정서조절 간에는 정적인 상관이 나타났으며, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절은 부모애착, 또래관계의 질, 감사성향과 부적인 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 부모애착과 또래관계의 질의 관계를 감사성향과 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절이 매개하는 연구모형을 설정하여 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시한 결과, 모든 경로가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 부모애착에서 감사성향으로 가는 경로가 가장 강력하게 나타났다. 셋째, 부모애착과 또래관계의 질의 관계에서 감사성향과 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 매개효과를 검정하기 위해 부트스트래핑(bootstrapping)을 이용한 매개효과분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 부모애착과 또래관계의 질의 관계에서 감사성향, 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 각각의 단순매개효과가 유의할 뿐 아니라, 감사성향과 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 감사성향과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절을 순차적으로 거쳐 또래관계의 질에 이르는 이중매개효과 또한 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 종합해보면, 부모애착은 중학생의 시기에도 안전기지의 역할을 하여 또래와의 관계를 탐색하고 갈등을 해결하는 데에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라, 자기와 타인, 타인과의 관계에 대한 내적작동 모델을 형성하여 감사의 대상을 인식하고, 도움의 의도를 파악하며, 감사를 느낄 수 있는 역치를 형성하는 기반으로 작용하여 중학생의 감사성향을 발달시키는데 영향을 주었다. 또한, 감사성향은 적응적 인지적 정서조절을 촉진하고 부적응적 인지적 정서조절을 억제시켜 또래관계의 질을 증진시키는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 중학생 시기에도 부모와의 애착이 또래관계의 질에 영향을 미치는 기제임을 확인했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한, 부모 애착이 또래관계의 질에 미치는 영향과 감사성향 및 적응적 인지적 정서조절, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 이중매개효과를 확인함에 따라 중학생의 또래관계 증진을 위한 효과적인 개입방안을 마련하는데 본 연구를 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.;The purpose of this study was to identify the relation among Parent Attachment, Gratitude Disposition, Cognitive Emotion Regulation and Quality of Peer Relationship. The study participants(403 middle school students) were drawn from Gyeonggi and Chungcheong regions. The data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation, Structural Equation Modeling by SPSS 18.0 and M-Plus 7.0. The results of the study were as follows: First, There were positive correlations among parent attachment, gratitude disposition, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and quality of peer relationship, but there were negative correlations among parent attachment, gratitude disposition, maladaptive cognitive emotion, and quality of peer relationship in middle school students. Second, the examination of structural relation among the major variables showed that all the paths were significant. Especially, the path from parent attachment to quality of peer relationship was the most powerful. Third, the result indicated that the mediating effect of gratitude disposition, adaptive emotion regulation, and also maladaptive emotion regulation between parent attachment and quality of peer relationship was respectively statistically significant, as well as the dual-mediated effect of gratitude disposition, adaptive emotion regulation, and maladaptive emotion regulation between parent attachment and quality of peer relationship was significant. These results showed that gratitude disposition, adaptive emotion regulation, and maladaptive emotion regulation should be included and examined in designed a intervention program for middle school students who had peer relationship problems. Findings in this study also exhibited the direction for future research of relation between parent attachment and quality of peer relationship.
