부모가 지각하는 부부갈등이 유아의 문제행동에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purposes of this study was to investigate the effects of marital l conflict on preschoolers' problem behavior through the parenting stress and negative parenting behaviors. This study used the fifth wave data of the Panel Study of Korean Children (PSKC). Data were analyzed using t-test, correlation, and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). The primary findings of this study were as follows: First, the paths from marital conflict to parenting stress were significant and positive. Second, when parents perceived more parenting stress, they displayed more negative parenting behaviors toward their children. Third, maternal negative parenting behaviors significantly increased preschoolers' internalizing problem behavior and externalizing problem behavior. Forth, the paths model indicated parental conflict, parenting stress and negative parenting behaviors affected preschoolers' problem behavior. In conclusion, the results indicated that the mediation effects of parenting stress and negative parenting behaviors were significant between parental conflict and preschoolers' problem behavior. Findings from this study can be used as a source in developing intervention programs for parenting behavior.;본 연구의 목적은 부모가 지각하는 부부갈등, 양육스트레스 및 부정적 양육행동이 유아의 문제행동에 어떠한 경로를 통해 영향을 미치는지 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소에서 수행하고 있는 한국아동패널 5차년도(2012년 조사)의 1,141가구를 대상으로 연구를 실시하였다. 부부갈등은 Markman, Stanley와 Blumberg(1994)가 제작한 부부갈등 척도를 정현숙(2004)이 번안한 것을 사용하여 측정하였고 부모의 양육스트레스는 김기현과 강희경(1997)이 개발한 양육스트레스 척도 중 ‘부모역할 수행에 대한 부담감 및 디스트레스’척도를 사용하여 측정하였다. 부모의 부정적 양육행동은 조복희 등(1999)의 양육스타일(The Parental Style Questionnaire [PSQ])척도를 참고하여 육아정책연구소(2012)에서 자체 제작한 척도를 사용하여 측정하였고, 유아의 문제행동은 Achenbach Rescorla(2000)가 개발한 유아용 행동평가척도(Child Behavior Checklist: CBCL 1.5-5)를 오경자와 김영아(2009)가 번역하고 타당화하여 표준화한 한국판 유아행동평가척도 K-CBCL 1.5-5를 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 t-검정, 상관관계분석, 간접효과의 유의성은 부트스트랩핑 방법을 이용하여 검정하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지와 어머니 모두 부부갈등을 높게 지각할수록 양육스트레스를 더 경험하였다. 둘째, 아버지와 어머니 모두 양육스트레스 수준이 높을수록 부정적 양육행동을 더 보였다. 셋째, 아버지의 부정적 양육행동은 유아의 내면화 문제행동과 외현화 문제행동 모두에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못한 반면, 어머니의 부정적 양육행동은 유아의 내면화 문제행동과 외현화 문제행동 모두에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 부부갈등, 양육스트레스 및 부정적 양육행동이 유아의 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 경로를 탐색한 결과 부모의 성별에 따라 간접적 영향에 차이를 보였다. 즉 아버지가 지각하는 부부갈등은 양육스트레스를 통해 부정적 양육행동에 간접적 영향을 미쳤으나 유아의 문제행동까지 이르지 못하였고, 어머니의 경우 어머니가 지각하는 부부갈등이 양육스트레스를 매개로 부정적 양육행동에 간접적 영향을 미쳤고 더 나아가 유아의 문제행동에도 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 종합해보면, 본 연구는 부부갈등이 양육스트레스와 부정적 양육행동을 통해 유아의 문제행동에 순차적으로 영향을 미쳤음을 밝혔다. 또한 이러한 경로에서 부모의 성별에 따라 간접적 영향에서 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구는 아버지와 어머니를 모두 포함한 부모변인이 유아의 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다는 의의를 갖는다. 본 연구의 결과는 유아의 문제행동에 대한 조기개입과 부모관련 중재프로그램관련 연구에 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
