Change of Scale in Bonus-Malus system

Abstract

With the current trend around the world, Korean financial authority deregulated the tariff structure system in automobile insurance markets. Thus, many insurers need to design their own Bonus-Malus system. As they construct their own system, factors that are taken into account would vary by insurance company, and consequently the insurance premiums would vary too. Since the premium is the most important factor for the insureds when they choose insurer, there would be many insureds who change their insurance company. In this process, new insurer should transfer the policyholder from the scale in former BM(Bonus-Malus) system to new scale in their BM system. The current literature assume poisson frequency in the transition of two different BM systems. In this paper, we also considered negative binomial frequency, and compared their performances with real data.;현재 한국의 금융 당국이 전 세계의 추세에 따라 자동차 보험 시장의 관세 구조 체계를 자율화함에 따라 많은 보험회사들이 자체적인 Bonus-Malus 체제를 설계해야 할 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 각 회사가 자체적인 체제를 설계함에 따라 피보험자의 등급을 책정할 때 고려하는 요소들이 다양할 것이며, 그에 따라 보험료 책정 또한 달라질 것으로 예상된다. 보험료는 피보험자가 보험사를 선택할 때 기준이 되는 중요한 요소 중 하나이기 때문에 보험사를 변경하는 피보험자가 늘어날 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 과정에서 피보험자의 이전 보험사에서의 BM 등급을 새로 변경한 보험사의 BM 등급체계에 맞춰 변경해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 <Denuit at. al, 2007>의 방법을 바탕으로 이러한 과정에서 이전 보험사에서의 BM등급과 같은 성향을 띄는 새로운 보험사의 BM등급으로 피보험자를 이전하는 방법으로 4가지 방법을 이용하여 수행해 보았다.
