Abstract

본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회 프로그램을 중심으로 각 작품마다 작곡가의 생애와 성악 작품 경향을 살펴본 후 시대의 상황과 작품의 경향에 따른 작품의 특징을 살펴본다. 그 후 작곡가의 시에 대한 해석과 그에 따른 가사와 연관된 음악적 표현들의 특징을 분석함으로써 실제 연주 시 곡에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다. 본 논문에서 논의하는 곡들은 퍼셀, 슈베르트, 리스트, 뚜리나의 작품이다. 퍼셀은 영어를 가곡의 언어로 사용하였다. 그는 중요한 시어가 관객들에게 잘 전달되기를 바라였고 따라서 그는 영어 단어의 뉘앙스를 살리기 위해 단어의 악센트 및 발음과 음악의 박자에 따라 정해진 규칙적인 셈여림이 일치하도록 작곡하였다. 또한 연극에도 관심을 가졌으며 연기배우의 감정이 관객들에게 영향을 끼친다고 믿어서 연극에서 사용되는 음악을 작곡할 때, 연극배우들의 감정을 그대로 악보에 옮기기 위해 연극배우의 대사 리듬을 거의 그대로 곡에 사용하였다. 그리고 그는 바로크 시대의 가사그리기 기법을 사용하여 감정을 특정한 음형으로 나타냈다. 슈베르트는 독일어를 가곡의 언어로 사용하였다. 그는 시와 음악을 잘 조합하기 위하여 가곡의 형식에 신경 썼다. <Der Hirt auf dem Felsen>은 목동의 외로움, 사랑하는 이에 대한 그리움, 밝은 미래의 도래에 대한 기대를 담고 있다. 이 곡은 목동의 심리 변화, 즉 외로움-그리움-기대감 순으로 선율이 변하는 통절 형식의 가곡이다. 또한 이 곡은 클라리넷이 함께 연주되는 곡으로 클라리넷은 피아노와 함께 곡의 분위기를 미리 제시하고, 메아리를 묘사하며 심리 변화가 있을 때마다 자연스럽게 연결해주는 역할을 한다. 리스트는 다양한 언어를 가곡의 언어로 사용하였지만 본문에서 다룰 가곡은 프랑스어로 이루어진 가곡이다. 그는 여러 문학가들과 교류하며 문학에 많은 영감을 받았다. 이러한 관심은 그가 작곡을 할 때 문학과 음악을 결합하는 시도로 이어졌다. 그는 시의 구조에 맞는 가곡의 형식을 채택하였으며, 시어의 억양을 표현하기 위해 리듬과 선율, 셈여림에 신경 썼다. 또한 피아노 반주도 시의 분위기를 표현하는데에 도움을 주기 위해 분위기에 어울리는 음형으로 작곡하였다. 그는 연주자가 시의 분위기와 맞는 음색으로 표현해주기를 원하여서 그는 악보에 그에 상응하는 음악기호를 상세히 적어놓았다. 투리나는 스페인어를 가곡의 언어로 사용하였다. 투리나가 활동하였던 19세기 후반부터 20세기 초반에는 민족주의 사조가 부흥하였다. 투리나도 민족주의 작곡가 중 한 명이다. 그는 자국 스페인 민족의 특성을 음악에 반영하고자 하였다. 그의 연가곡《노래 형식의 시(Poema en forma de canciones Op.19》는 캄포아모르(Ramon de Campoamor, 1817-1901)의 4개의 시에 붙여진 작품으로 ‘사랑’이라는 주제와 부합한 5개의 연가곡이다. 그의 고향인 안달루시아 지방의 연주관행, 스페인 민속 춤곡의 리듬, 선법 등을 음악에 활용하여 향토색이 짙은 작품이다. 또한 투리나는 가곡에서 시를 중시하였고, 특히 중요한 시구는 반복하거나 피아노 반주를 통해 강조하였다.;This thesis concentrates on the graduate recital program from the completion of the master’s degree. I have analyzed works of Purcell, Schubert, Liszt and Turina. For each piece, I will analyze the composer's interpretation of the poem and the characteristics of the musical expressions associated with the lyrics. Purcell used English as the language of the song. He hoped that the important poetry would be conveyed well to the audience. Therefore, when he compoesed, he took care to match the accents and pronunciations of the words and the rhythm of the music to express the nuances of English words. He was also interested in theater. And he believed that the actor's emotions affect the audience. As he composed the music used in the play, he used the rhythm of the actor 's dialogue almost as it is so that he could transfer the emotions of actors to the score. He also used the word painting technique of the Baroque era. Schubert used German as the language of song. He paid attention to the form of the song in order to make a good combination of poetry and music. Der Hirt auf dem Felsen contains the loneliness of the shepherd, the longing for the beloved, and the expectation of a bright future. He used a through-composed form in which the melody changes according to the contents of the poem in order to describe the psychological change of the shepherd. This song is also played with clarinet. The clarinet presents the atmosphere of the song with the piano in advance, describes the echo. plays a role in connecting naturally whenever there is a psychological change. Liszt used various languages ​​as the language of the lyrics but the song to be covered in this thesis is a French song. He interacted with many writers and was inspired by literature. This interest led to an attempt to combine literature and music in his composition. He adopted the form of the song according to the structure of the poem, and paid attention to the rhythm, melody, and dynamic to express the accent of the word. He also composed the piano accompaniment suitable for the mood of the poem. He wanted performer to express a tone that matched the atmosphere of the poem, and he wrote down music notes in detail. Turina used Spanish as the language of song. In the late 19th and early 20th, nationalism was popular. Turina is one of the nationalism composers. He wanted to reflect the characteristics of his native Spanish in music. He wrote a song cycle 《Poema en forma de canciones, Op.19》. It is a work attached to four poems of Campoamor(Ramon de Campoamor, 1817-1901). He melted Andalusia's playing practices, the rhythm of Spanish folk dance, mode into his song cycle.
