Johannes Brahms의 Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

This study deals with Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78 in order to understand Brahms' compositional intention. Analysis of his musical characteristics based on the life of Brahms can help understanding this Violin Sonata. Johannes Brahms is one of the most representative composers in the Romantic era, and he is a person who has inspired neoclassical music. He walked his way without being disturbed by the flow of the time, and he made important achievements in music history. The results of studying his Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78 are as follows. It is composed of three movements and It is a sonata with a classical style. The 1st movement is composed according to the traditional style of classic era, and has a presentation section, a development section, and a reproduction section. The second movement is composed in three parts, and the third movement is made up of rondo form. In the first movement, the main rhythm type was repeated, consequently the entire movement became unified. The theme melody has Brahms' musical color that can be felt in many other songs such as his symphonies. In the second movement with a slow tempo, is composed of E ♭ Major which is under 3 degrees of G Major. It shows the characteristic of Romantic era. In the three movements of the Rondo form, it reveals clear formality through organic imitation, change, and development of the theme. Although this piece has a classical aspect in the form, it reveals many musical characteristics of Brahms. He used the chromatic augmentation in harmonies, and created many variations using different playing techniques. The combination of rhythm, free hemiola rhythm shows diversity, and beautiful melody developments show the musical characteristic of Brahms.;브람스는 낭만 시대 음악을 대표하는 사람으로, 고전 시대의 형식을 낭만 음악에 적용시킨 사람이다. 브람스는 전통주의 작곡가이면서, 고전 음악의 구조와 질서 안에 자신만의 음악적 색을 구현했다. 그가 작곡한 교향곡, 실내악곡, 협주곡 등의 여러 장르의 음악들은 현대에 이르러도 수없이 연주되며 그 업적을 인정받고 있다. 브람스가 작곡을 하던 당시 독일에는 신독일 악파가 급부상하여, 표제음악으로 많은 사람들의 관심을 받기 시작했다. 그들의 음악에 대항하여 자신의 스타일을 고수했던 브람스는 기교적으로 화려하여 대중의 이목을 끄는 음악을 작곡하는 것보다는 탄탄한 구조 위에 화성적으로 풍부한 소리를 가지는 음악을 만들어냈다. 그가 작곡한 Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78은 완숙기에 작곡되어 브람스 음악의 성격을 정직하게 드러내는 곡이다. 이 곡은 여행 하기를 좋아했던 브람스의 음악 여행 중에 작곡되어 그의 음악적 성격에 자연에서 얻어온 영감까지 더해져 아름다운 선율을 자랑하는 그의 대표적 실내악 소나타 곡이 되었다. 주요 동기들이 악장 구분 없이 사용되어 작품 전체에 통일성이 부여되었다. 형식적인 면에서는 고전 소나타의 형식과 조성의 이동이 거의 그대로 사용되었으며, 그 안에 새롭게 낭만적 특징까지 더해져 더욱 견고한 소나타가 완성되었다. 3 개의 악장으로 구성된 이 곡은 소나타 형식의 1악장, 3부 형식의 2악장, 론도 형식의 3악장으로 되어있다. 전 시대의 기법들을 사용하는 데에만 그치지 않고 모방, 반복, 전위 등의 기법을 다채롭게 사용하면서, 브람스의 음악적 이념을 드러내는 곡이다. 본 논문은 Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78을 분석하여 그의 음악을 고찰한다.
