FRANCIS POULENC의 ‘Sonata pour Violin et Piano’에 나타난 신고전주의 성향에 대한 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 Poulenc의 생애와 Poulenc의 바이올린 소나타 악보 분석이다. Francis Poulenc (1899-1963)은 프랑스 작곡가로서 오페라, 발레음악, 기악곡, 성악음악, 실내악 등 150여개의 다양한 장르를 작곡했다. 1917년 Eric Satie에 의해 이루어진 프랑스 6인조의 일원으로 20세기 전반 프랑스 음악에서 신고전주의를 이끌며 오늘날 프랑스 음악에 크게 부상하는 주류를 이루었다. 그의 작품은 기본적으로 신고전적인 것이지만, 프랑스적인 세련됨과 우아한 섬세성이 일체가 되어 있다. Poulenc의 바이올린 소나타는 1918년 전쟁 중에 파괴되는 소리에 영감을 얻어 작곡을 시작하였으나 완성하지 못하고, 1940년 Ginette Neveu (1919-1949)의 간절한 요청에 의해 다시 작곡에 착수하여 1942년에 완성되었다. 본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 독주회에서 연주된 작품들 중 Poulenc의 바이올린 소나타를 연구한 것으로 작곡가의 생애와 3악장으로 구성된 바이올린 소나타의 분석을 통하여 곡에 대한 구성과 작곡가가 의도한 음형에 집중한 음악기법에 대해 고찰하고 분석을 목적으로 한다.;This thesis is an analysis of Sonata for Violin and Piano FP.119 by Francis Poulenc(1899-1636), especially studying the coexistence of modern music technique in the 20thcentury and classical music style. Francis Poulenc was a Neo-Classicism french composer in the early 20th century who combined basic classical music with the 20th century modern music. He was heavily influenced by Jean Cocteau and Eric Satie, two of the Six Members in France. The featured characteristics of his music were a concise and simple texture, classical and popular melodies, chromatic harmonies, a variety of rhythms, and counterpoint. He harmoniously mixed the french style of delicate and lyrical melodies. It is only the violin piece in his work, Sonata for Violin and Piano FP.119, was composed of three movements which show the Poulenc’s 20th century style-that is frequent rhythmic change sand chromatic harmonies progression. Neo-classical characteris tics can be also observed from which he frequently used the counterpoint style, the patterns of unity and lyrical melodies. In conclusion, Sonata for Violin and Piano FP.119 by Francis Poulenc(1899-1636) is a Neo-classical piece in which the 20th century modern style of music techniques coexist with the original classic music.
