Abstract

This thesis is a study on graduation performance program for completion of master's course. The purpose of the study is to examine the life and musical characteristics of each composer, Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924), Joaquín Rodrigo (1897-1945) and Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880), and to understand their work in order to apply it to their performance and for better performance. Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) is a composer who influenced the France music from 19th to 20th century. His music is composed of noble beauty, delicate poetic sensibility, and subtle musical progress that are considered to be the implementation of French culture through sound. Gabriel Fauré expresses the beauty of the poetry used as the lyrics in a musical lyricism through simple martian progression, various 7 chords, and the use of concise accompaniment. Four of his works, <Après un Rêve>, <Lydia>, <Les Berceaux> and <Nell>, which will be covered in this thesis. The music of Rodrigo (1897-1945) features a lot of traditional and conservative Spanish writing. In his music, he uses Spanish rhythm and folk materials, lyrical and monotonous melodies, and has a strong nationalistic color and aims for a nationalistic musical style. In this thesis, I have studied the most popular work of his works, 『Cuatro madrigales amatorios』, focusing on his musical characteristics and composition of lyrics. ​Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880) influenced opera bouffe and operetta, as a representative opera composer of 19th century Europe. His opera is characterized by adding lively and satirical elements to his work through pleasant and fun everyday conversations. In this thesis, I will examine the overall contents of his opera 『Les contes d'Hoffmann』 and look into his musical characteristics, focusing on aria 「Les aiseaux dans la charmille」.​;본 논문은 본인의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주 프로그램에 대한 연구이다. 연구의 목적은 프로그램을 구성하고 있는 작곡가 포레(Gabriel Fauré, 1845-1924), 로드리고(Joaquín Rodrigo, 1897-1945), 오펜바흐(Jacques Offenbach, 1819-1880)의 각 작곡가별 생애와 음악적 특징을 살펴봄으로써 그들의 작품을 이해하고 연주에 적용하여 더 나은 연주를 목적으로 한다. 포레(Gabel Fauré, 1845-1924)는 19-20세기 프랑스음악에 많은 영향을 준 작곡가이다. 그의 가곡음악은 소리를 통한 프랑스 문화의 구현이라고 평가될 만큼 고상한 아름다움과 섬세한 시적 감성, 미묘한 음악적 진행으로 이루어져 있다. 포레는 가사로 사용되는 시의 아름다움을 단순한 화성진행, 다양한 7화음, 간결한 반주의 사용을 통해 음악적으로 서정성 있게 표현하였다. 이 논문에서 다루게 될 <꿈꾸고 난 후에 (Après un Rêve)>, <리디아 (Lydia)>, <요람 (Les Berceaux)>, <넬 (Nell)>의 네 작품은 포레의 이런 음악적 특징을 잘 보여준다. 로드리고(Joaquín Rodrigo, 1897-1945)의 음악은 전통적이고 보수적인 스페인 작법이 많이 남아있는 것이 특징이다. 그는 그의 음악에서 스페인 춤곡 리듬과 민속적 재료들, 서정적이고 단조로운 멜로디 등을 사용하여 국민주의적 색채를 강하게 띠고 있으며 민족주의적인 음악양식을 지향하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 그의 작품들 가운데 가장 인기 있는 작품 『4개의 사랑의 마드리갈 (Cuatro madrigales amatorios)』을 중심으로 그의 음악적 특징과 가사에 맞는 작곡법 등에 대해 살펴보았다. 오펜바흐(Jacques Offenbach, 1819-1880)는 19세기 낭만주의후기의 대표적인 오페라부파 작곡가이다. 그의 오페라는 유쾌하고 재미난 일상적인 대화를 통해 작품에 생동감을 더 하며 풍자적 요소를 가미하는 것이 특징이다. 본 논문에서는 그의 오페라 중 대표적인 작품 『호프만의 이야기 (Les contes d'Hoffmann)』의 전반적인 내용을 살펴보고 극중 아리아 <인형의 노래 (Les oiseaux dans la charmille)> 를 중심으로 그의 음악적 특징에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
