서초구 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)에 대한 영아교사의 인식 및 개선요구 분석

Abstract

서초구와 서초구육아종합지원센터에서는 영아반 교사를 대상으로 특화된 교육과정을 제공하고, 이수자에게 인센티브를 제공함으로써 서초구 관내 어린이집 보육 수준을 향상시키고자 2015년부터 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)을 운영하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 2015년부터 2016년 현재까지 3회에 걸쳐 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)을 수강한 영아교사의 인식 및 개선요구를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 통해 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)의 개선방안을 마련하고, 향후 효과적인 운영을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 의의가 있다. 이와 같은 목적에 따른 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)에 대한 영아교사의 인식은 어떠한가? 2. 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)에 대한 영아교사의 개선요구는 어떠한가? 본 연구는 2015년부터 2016년 진행된 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)에 참석한 수강생 183명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구에 사용된 설문지는 선행연구 및 문헌을 토대로 전문가의 자문을 받아 연구자에 의해 제작되었다. 총 25문항(하위문항 포함 30문항)으로 일반적 배경 및 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본) 수강 관련 10문항, 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)에 대한 인식 3문항과 요구 12문항(하위문항 포함 시 17문항)으로 구성되어있다. 수집된 자료는 문항별로 빈도, 백분율을 구하고, 필요한 경우 평균, 표준편차를 산출하였으며, 중복응답 문항은 케이스 백분율을 산출하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)을 수강한 영아교사 대다수가 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)이 필요하다고 인식하고 있었고, 그 이유로 과반 수 이상이 영아교사로서의 전문성 신장을 위해서라고 응답해 필요성에 대해 매우 긍정적이라는 것을 알 수 있다. 반면 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)이 필요하지 않다고 응답한 영아교사들은 내용이 도움이 되지 않기 때문이라고 하였는데, 이들의 수강 시기는 2015년부터 2016년에 걸쳐 대체로 고른 분포를 보여 특정 기수에 몰려 있지는 않았다. 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)의 각 교과목별 목적에 대해서는 대체로 전문지식 습득, 영아 지도기술 향상 등 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 실천적 지식이나 기술 습득이라고 인식한 반면, 직업 윤리 확립, 자기계발 동기 부여, 자긍심 획득에는 큰 의미를 두지 않았다. 둘째, 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)을 수강하기 적절한 시기는 '영아반을 맡기 시작할 때'라고 과반 수 이상이 답하였으나, '영아반을 맡기 전' 언제라도 수강 시기로 적절하다고 응답한 비율 또한 과반수에 가깝게 나타났다. 적절한 시간대로는 현재와 같이 주말 시간대를 선호한 비율이 가장 높았다. 총 48시간으로 진행되고 있는 교육시간에 대해서도 현재와 같이 유지되기를 희망하는 의견이 과반 수 이상이었으나, 현재의 시간이 적절하지 않다고 응답한 영아교사들은 대체로 시간 단축을 요구하였다. 또한 현재 이수자에 한해 지급되는 인센티브에 대해서는 대다수가 인센티브의 금액 인상이나 지급기한 연장에 대한 의견을 제시하여 현행제도에 개선이 필요하다고 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 희망하는 교육 형태로는 현장 적용이 가능한 실제적인 방법을 위주로 하되, 교과목의 특성에 따라 이론적 강의를 병행하는 방법을 선호하였다. 희망하는 강사진은 영아반 경력이 많은 교사, 전 현직원장, 보육관련학과 전공 교수 순으로 선호하였고, 공통적으로 현장 사례중심으로 교육 받기를 희망하였다. 이상의 결과에 기초하여, 영아반 보육교사 전문교육과정(기본)의 효율적인 운영으로 영아교사의 전문성 향상과 처우개선이 가능하도록 하는 수요자 맞춤형 교육제공과, 행정적 지원 등을 시사점으로 제시하였다.;Seocho-gu and Seocho Support Centre for Childcare have operated a specialized educational curriculum(basic) for infant care teachers (referred to as the 'teachers') since 2015 to increase a quality of childcare centers in Seocho-gu jurisdiction by providing educational curriculum specialized for the infant care teachers and giving an incentive to those who complete the course. This research is aimed to understand the perception and requiring improvement from the teachers who were offered to take the specialized education curriculum (referred to as the 'curriculum' three different times from 2015 to 2016. This can suggest ways to improve the quality of the specialized educational curriculum and offer fundamental information for efficient operation in the future. Therefore, the questions based on the aim are as follows; 1. What are the teachers' perceptions about the specialized educational curriculum? 2. What are the required improvements for the specialized educational curriculum? This research was conducted by 183 participants who had attended the curriculum between 2015 and 2016. The researcher prepared the questions based on precedent survey and related references with professional advices. A total of 25 questions (30 questions including subordinate questions) are as follows; 10 questions related to general background and the curriculum, 3 questions related to the teachers' perception and 12 questions about required improvement of the curriculum (total 17 questions including subordinated questions). Collected information is calculated into percentage and counts by the questions. Standard deviation is also calculated in need and multiple responses are analyzed by case percentage calculation. The analyzed result of this research can be summarized as followings. First, most of the participants who took the curriculum were aware of the need for the specialized education on the grounds of improving professionalism as an infant care teacher. For this, more than half are assumed to positively recognize the need of the curriculum. On the other hand, those who responded negatively found the curriculum to be unhelpful. The period when the curriculum was taken was evenly divided from 2015 to 2016 not focused on the particular group. The purpose of taking each class was mostly to acquire practical information and skills such as professional knowledge and higher quality of teaching skills for infants that can be applied in the field while establishment of professional ethics, motivation of self-development and increase of confidence were not considered as much. Second, more than half of the participants suggested taking the curriculum "when starting the infant class". While the remainder of the participants suggested to take the curriculum "before starting the infant classes". The time most preferred for the taking the class was the weekend. More than half of the participants wanted to maintain the 48 hours requirement while others suggested for shorter hours for the curriculum. Furthermore, based on the variety of opinions, the incentives given to those who completed the curriculum are considered to be improved in some parts. The parts include higher payment and extended period of incentive pay. The participants preferred learning practical skills that can be applied to the field however; they also wanted to take theory depending on the type of the classes. The instructors preferred were relatively as follows; the experienced instructor in infant classes, the former-present principal, and professors majored in childcare relative department. In general, the participants hoped to focus on the practical teaching skills with case-study. Based on the grounds above, this research suggests administrative support and a customized education to improve professionalism and conditions with efficient to operation of the specialized educational curriculum.
