dc.description.abstract | Dermatofibroma is a common benign dermal tumor characterized by a proliferation of fibroblast-like spindle cells. Over the years, more than 25 clinicopathologic variants of dermatofibroma have been recognized and recently additional erosive and ulcerated variants have also been reported. A 32-year-old woman presented with an ulcerative nodule on the scalp. This skin lesion first appeared about 2 months ago and histopathologic examination revealed proliferation of factor XIIIa-positive spindle cells with central necrosis. In this review, we report a rare case of ulcerated dermatofibroma and review the relevant literature. | * |
