Abstract
The lyrical work of the famous poet Jeong-ju Seo makes use of traditional Korean imagery, enlarging its possibilities of expression. Subject matter is often taken from old myths and well-known folk tales, for example the famous love-story of Chunhyang. These themes are expressed in a lyrical language which combines metaphor and metonymy in complex structures. The present paper analyzes the metaphorical structure of two poems, making use of Benjamin Hrushovski's reference frame theory.
