dc.description.abstract | Though garment simulation is now one of the important elements in broad range of digital contents, general users do not know well enough how to design a virtual costume that meets some requirements of its specific clothing pattern. In particular, hanbok-the Korean traditional costume- has many different characteristics against western ones in the aspect of its pattern design and of draping. This paper presents a knowledge-driven approach for supporting hanbok draping simulation without knowing how to design hanbok. Based on the analysis of designer's knowledge, we defined multi-level method of measurement construction according to the body shape features of different virtual actors. An experimental system is developed in the form of a Maya plug-in so that we can assure that time and effort for hanbok modeling is reduced and made easy. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004. | - |
