In-mediated allylation of alpha-keto esters with allyl halides

Abstract

The chemoselective reaction of alpha -keto esters with allyl halides, propargyl bromides, and allenyl bromide using indium metal afforded alpha -hydroxy-gamma,delta -unsaturated esters in good to excellent yields under mild conditions.
