한국어 지시화행에서 나타난 공손성의 이해와 사용 연구

Abstract

The purpose of the study Female Marriage Immigrants to know politeness in Directive Speech acts and verified competence of produce proper sentence for conversation. Discourse competence was usually studied at Speech act strategy, and Korean politeness was mainly focused on Honorifics in Korean studies. But, Honorifics are just part of politeness of Korean language so that Female Marriage Immigrants need more practical study in Korean language school. The organization of the dissertation is as follows. In chapter I, the purpose and motivation of the study are explained. Review of previous research on the Directive Speech acts and politeness acquisition. And the Korean language study of Female Marriage Immigrants made a general comment. Through the review made range of this study as request, demand, suggestion of Directive Speech acts. In chapter II, the theoretical framework is presented. There are two parts: the first part is on features of Directive Speech acts. Second part is Politeness and rage of politeness in discourse. Polite strategy and factors of Directive Speech acts are also classified. In chapter III, research methods are detailed. The procedures and the results of the first and the second pilot researches are described, and the problems emerged from the pilot studies and alternatives to avoid the problems are illustrated. The the main research is presented in detail including participants, instruments, methodologies to collect and analyze the data. In chapter IV and V report the results of the main research. Chapter IV is the analysis of the understanding of politeness of directive speech act and compare Female Marriage Immigrants from Vietnam and China with Korean natives and students who study Korean language for general purpose. According to the result, Vietnam and China Female Marriage Immigrants and students with general purpose good at understanding Honorific which take lessons in Korean language class. They make Honorific to significant standards for determine the range of politeness of directive speech acts. Especially '-시-' and '-아/어 주다' are most powerful standards. But besides students with general purpose, Vietnam and China Female Marriage Immigrants are shows better awareness of impolite directive speech acts. Chapter V is the analysis of the work out of directive speech act by Discourse Completion Test. This analysis also compare Female Marriage Immigrants from Vietnam and China with Korean natives and students who study Korean language for general purpose. The work out of Female Marriage Immigrants is not related with understanding they showed in chapter IV. Female Marriage Immigrants made request like demand, and use directive strategy too many times. Female Marriage Immigrants was better at using strategy than general korean students, but worse at using factors of politeness. Chapter VI is a conclusion. This chapter sums up the result of the study and implications, limatations, and suggestions for future research are presented. This study has its significance in that regulates a degree of politeness and feature of factors with politeness and reviewed in detail. Also that found the 195 competence of pargmatics were not much developed after a intermediate level 1 even linguistic knowledge such as words and grammars are learned. And the Education of Korean Language for foreigners needs more pragmatic lessons not the strategy but expression from a intermediate level.;본 연구는, 여성결혼이민자들이 지시화행의 공손성을 습득하여 이해하고 사용하는 능력을 살피고 취약한 부분을 찾아 앞으로의 한국어 교육에 반영하는 데 목적을 두었다. 그간 한국어 교육에서 화용 공손성 연구는 화행 전략 습득 연구의 일부분으로 다루어지거나 대우법 위주로 이루어져왔다. 특히 한국어 학습자들과 한국어 모어 화자들의 전략 사용을 비교한 연구들이 많았는데 화행전략을 구성하는 요소들에 대해서는 연구가 부족했다. 공손성 문제는 전략 차원에서만 주로 다루어져 전략을 실현하는 표현들 외에 공손성에 영향을 주는 장치들은 거의 다루어지지 않았다. 그러나 여성결혼이민자들과 같이 한국어 모어 화자들 속에서 생활하는 한국어 학습자들은 원만한 대인관계를 유지하기 위해서 전략뿐만이 아니라 공손성에 영향을 주는 다른 언어적 장치들에 대해서도 알아야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지시화행의 공손성을 상세히 규명하고 여성결혼이민자들의 이해와 산출을 다루었다. 본 연구에서는 일상생활에서 꼭 필요하지만 청자의 체면을 위협할 가능성이 있는 지시화행의 공손성과 공손 장치에 대해 규명하여 여성결혼이민자들의 한국어 습득에 도움이 되고자 하였다. 공손성은 화행의 구성에 따라 정도가 달라진다고 보아, 공손성의 정도에 영향을 미치는 언어적 요인으로 공손 전략과 공손 장치를 규정하고 이에 대한 여성결혼이민자들의 이해와 산출을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 구성을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. Ⅰ장에서는 본 연구의 목적과 필요성을 밝히고 본 연구의 주제와 관련된 선행 연구들을 살펴보았다. 그 다음 지시화행 중에서도 화자에게 이익이 전제되어 있지만 청자의 거절 가능성이 있어 상황과 청자에 맞는 적절한 발화로 발화의도를 성공시켜야 하는 지시화행의 요청, 요구, 제안화행을 연구 범위로 잡았다. 연구 문제는 여성결혼이민자들이 요청, 요구, 제안화행의 공손성 정도와 공손 장치에 대해 얼마나 알고 있는지와 실제로 산출한 지시화행은 이런 이해도가 얼마나 반영되어있고 선호하는 전략과 장치는 어떠한지 보고자 하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 본 연구의 이론적 배경을 살피었다. 본 연구는 지시화행의 공손성에 대한 고찰이므로, 지시화행의 특성을 살피고 공손성과 공손성의 정도, 공손 장치에 대한 연구자들의 개념과 이론적 틀을 조사하면서 필자의 견해를 제시하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 연구 방법에 대하여 상세하게 기술하였다. 1차와 2차에 걸쳐 진행된 예비 실험의 절차 및 내용과 함께 실험 결과에서 드러난 문제점에 대한 대안도 함께 제시하였다. 본 실험에는 예비 실험의 결과가 반영되었으며 본 실험의 절차와 내용, 실험 도구들에 대해 타당성을 논의하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 실험 결과 분석을 통하여 지시화행 공손성에 대한 여성결혼이민자들의 이해도를 살피었다. 분석 결과, 여성결혼이민자들은 공손성 판단에 상대대우법과 선어말어미 ‘-시-’를 가장 강력한 기준으로 삼고 있었으며 일부 높임 어휘를 제외한 공손 장치에 대한 인식이 매우 부족하였다. 그러나 일반 목적 학습자들에 비하여 공손 전략 표현을 잘 인식하여, 공손 장치가 많이 사용되지 않은 지시화행의 공손성 정도에 대한 이해도는 한국어 모어 화자들과 비슷하게 나타나기도 하였다. Ⅴ장에서는 여성결혼이민자들의 지시화행 산출을 분석하여 선호하는 공손 전략과 공손 장치를 살펴보았다. 여성결혼이민자들은 앞선 지시화행 공손성의 이해 실험에서는 여러 전략에 대해 알고 있었으나 산출에서는 청자의 의지나 능력을 묻는 전략이나 명시적 전략 등 특정 전략에 치우쳐 사용하는 경향을 드러내었다. 또한 공손성 판단의 기준으로 선어말어미 ‘-시-’등을 중요하게 생각하고 교체 공손 어휘들에 대한 이해가 높았던 것과 달리 산출에서는 누락된 경우가 많아, 이해와 산출이 제대로 연계되지 않고 있다는 것이 드러났다. Ⅵ장에서는 본 연구의 결과들을 정리하여 요약하고, 본 연구의 의의와 한계를 밝혔다. 본 연구는 이제까지 다루어지지 않았던 공손성의 정도를 규정하고 공손 장치를 정리하여 산출뿐만 아니라 이해와의 연관성도 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 것이다.
