무용전공자의 다문화무용교육에 대한 인식 조사 연구

Abstract

The objective of the study is to research and analyze the recognition of dance major students on multicultural education and multicultural dance education, and to examine problems of multicultural dance education and also to suggest base materials required for invigorating multicultural education and multicultural dance education based on the research. In order to achieve the research goals, a survey was conducted with 450 undergraduate and graduate students in 4 universities located in Seoul and 1 university located in Kyungki-do and 440 questionnaires were collected. Among them, total 426 questionnaires were used for result analysis as 14 undependable or omitted questionnaires were excluded. The result of the analysis can be listed as follows. Firstly, most of the dance major students experienced indirect multicultural education. The respondents who answered to be aware of multicultural education said that they came to know about it through university class or mass media. But among the dance major students who had experienced direct multicultural education other than university curriculum, 70% of them was found to have no experience of receiving multicultural education and that only part of the dance major students had some experience through elective subjects, seminar and symposium. It was also found that they recognize the members of multicultural family as the subject of multicultural society in Korea, and recognition of homosexuals, disabled persons and prodigies as members of multicultural society was very low. Among 59% of them responded to have interest on multicultural education and recognized the necessity of multicultural education, and the difference in recognition of multicultural education depending on sex, grade, major, experience showed significant difference on each question. As a result of surveying the dance major students’ understanding of multicultural dance education, most of the students had basic understanding of multicultural dance education and only minority had misconception of it. Moreover, most of them recognized that multicultural dance education is necessary and responded that it is one of the ways to overcome unfamiliarity of other cultures and to understand and embrace various cultures. It was revealed that the obstructive factors of multicultural dance education are lack of systematic method in multicultural dance education, insufficiency of embracing multicultural dance education in current education curriculum and related materials. The goal of multicultural dance education is to enable society to have positive experience cultural diversity with respect and cooperation of members who come from different cultures, and the effect of multicultural education is to recognize and care cultural diversity and to accept diversity of cultures through mutual interaction with other cultures. The students responded that multicultural dance education has educational effect to make people to have active interest in multicultural society in Korea. Third, as the methods to vitalize multicultural education, there were Korean education for multicultural families and social atmosphere recognizing and considering other cultures. As the methods to vitalize multicultural dance education, there were multicultural experience program by dance education, teacher training for multicultural dance education and subject education for awareness change. Furthermore, the place of opportunities to understand the field should be prepared. Based on the results, program grafting multicultural education onto multicultural dance education and the contents should be developed, university dance specialists who can practice in the field of dance education should be cultivated, professional lecturers of multicultural dance education should be released by interdisciplinary studies for practice of multicultural dance education and development of studying materials and multicultural dance education should be practiced as an art education.;본 연구의 목적은 대학 무용전공자의 다문화 교육과 다문화무용교육에 대한 인식을 조사 및 분석하고, 조사 결과를 바탕으로 다문화무용교육의 문제점과 다문화 교육 및 다문화무용교육의 활성화 방안에 필요한 기초 자료를 제시하는 데 있다. 이와 같은 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울 소재 4개 대학과 경기 소재 1개 대학의 무용학과 재학생과 대학원생 450명을 대상으로 설문지를 배포하여 총 440부를 회수하였다. 그 중 불성실하게 응답하거나 조사 내용을 누락한 설문지 14부를 제외하고 결과분석에 사용된 설문지는 총 426부였다. 설문 조사를 통해 얻은 결과를 종합적으로 정리하여 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학 무용전공자들은 대다수가 다문화 교육을 간접적으로 경험하였다. 다문화 교육에 대해 알고 있다고 응답한 무용전공자들은 학교 수업 또는 언론 매체를 통해 다문화 교육을 알게 되었다. 그러나 대학 교과과정, 대학 교과과정 외에 다문화 교육을 직접적으로 경험한 대학 무용전공자 중 70%가 교육 받은 경험이 없었으며, 대학 무용전공자 일부만 일반 개설과목, 세미나와 학술대회를 통해 다문화 교육을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 한국의 다문화 사회를 구성하는 대상자는 결혼이주여성, 다문화 가정, 다문화 가정 자녀로 인식하고 있으며, 동성애자, 장애인, 영재는 다문화 사회의 구성원으로 낮은 인식을 나타냈다. 또한 무용전공자들의 59%가 다문화 교육에 관심이 있고, 다문화 교육이 필요하다 인식하고 있으며, 무용전공자의 성별, 학년, 전공, 무용경력에 따라 다문화교육 인식은 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 대학 무용 전공자들의 다문화무용교육 이해도 조사 결과, 대다수의 무용 전공자들이 다문화무용교육을 기본적으로 이해를 하고 있으며, 다문화무용교육의 오 개념을 가지고 있는 응답자는 소수인 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 다문화무용교육은 필요하다고 인식하고 있으며, 필요한 이유에 대해 움직임은 타문화에 대한 이질감을 극복하고 다양한 문화를 이해할 수 있는 방법 중 하나이기 때문이라고 응답하였다. 다문화무용교육의 장애 요인은 다문화무용교육의 체계적인 방법과 현행 교육과정의 다문화무용교육의 수용 부족, 다문화무용교육과 관련된 자료 부족인 것으로 나타났다. 다문화무용교육의 목표는 다양한 문화를 지닌 구성원의 협동과 존중으로 사회 공동체 전체가 타 문화를 긍정적으로 경험하게 하는 것이며, 다문화 무용교육의 효과는 문화 다양성을 인정하고 배려하며 타문화와의 상호작용을 통해 한국 다문화 사회의 적극적 관심을 갖게 하는 교육적 효과가 있다고 응답하였다. 셋째, 다문화 교육의 활성화 방법으로는 다문화 가정을 대상으로 한 한국어 교육과 타 문화를 인정하고 배려하는 사회분위기 조성으로 나타났다. 다문화무용교육의 활성화 방법으로는 무용교육을 통한 다문화 체험 활동프로그램과 다문화무용교육을 위한 교사 연수 및 인식 전환을 위한 교과교육이 실시되어야 하며, 현장을 이해할 수 있는 기회의 장이 마련되어야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 살펴 볼 때, 대학의 무용(학)과는 대학 무용전공자들이 다문화교육과 다문화무용교육을 통합한 프로그램과 콘텐츠를 개발하여 무용교육의 현장에서 실천할 수 있도록 교육하고, 다문화무용교육 실천을 위한 학제 간의 연구와 학습자료 개발을 통해 다문화무용교육 전문 강사를 배출하여 예술교육으로써의 다문화무용교육 실천 및 확대에 기여해야 할 것이다.
