중다대응분석을 이용한 PISA 2012 분석

Abstract

경제협력개발기구(OECD)는 2000년부터 3년을 주기로 국제 학업 성취도 평가(The Programme for International Student Assessment)를 시행하고 있다. 우리나라는 2000년 이후 꾸준히 PISA에 참여해오고 있으며, 계속해서 최상위권의 성적을 유지하여 국내외에서 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구는 PISA의 5번째 주기였던 PISA 2012의 자료를 이용하여 각 국가별로 학생들의 읽기, 수학, 과학 영역별 소양에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 살펴보고, 국가별 차이점에 대해 알아본다. 연구 방법으로 탐색적 자료분석과 t-검정, 분산분석을 이용하여 학생들의 점수에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인을 살펴본다. 그리고 다차원의 변수들 사이의 복잡한 관계를 저차원의 공간상에 표현하여 한 번에 시각적으로 파악할 수 있는 중다대응분석(Multiple correspondence analysis)을 이용하여 우리나라와 멕시코 사이의 상이한 점을 살펴보았다.;From the year 2000, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has been implementing the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in every three years. Korea has been constantly participating in the PISA ever since 2000, receiving domestic and international attention on its effort of maintaining the highest ranking. This study utilizes the PISA 2012, which happened to be its fifth cycle, to examine the variables that have influence on international students with their skills in reading, mathematics and science, and to explore the difference among the countries. The methods used in this study were an EDA, a T-test, and an F-test in purpose of inspecting variables that have statistical significance on students’ scores. Then, in order to explore the difference between Korea and Mexico, the study involved a multiple correspondence analysis which provides visual understanding on complex relationships of multi-dimensional variables through representing the relationships on a low-dimensional space.
