프란츠 카프카의『변신』을 바탕으로 한 무용창작작품「THE RED」에 관한 연구

Abstract

Modern society which change too fast bring the material affluence with development of science technique and media, but in inside, cause more big problem that spiritual poverty. People can not follow the speed of society development and was died out in society, were treated as a machine, was ignored inherent individuality and personality. Therefore people are increasing who feel psychological sense of isolation that loss and loneliness, anxiety about existence and left out, if these go wrong, we have come to an extreme situation of human alienation that lossing themselves and inherent individuality. According to this, people, for lead better healthy life mentally, must establish the essential value of existence of individual, getting out alienation phenomenon and recognizing the lacking existence of own. So I tried to new understanding the importance of human existence that in society, person have independent sight and show individual uniqueness with own voice and not a person as a mean but as having finality and realize the self of true meaning, finding value and mean of independent life. So the researcher choreographed with a human alienation that dealing in creative dance work「THE RED」novel of Franz Kafka, Die Verwandlung. I form total 3 page, based on content that overcoming, isolation, real self that was shown by fictional character, Gregor, who become be alienated from the family and society. This work made with topic that delivering the important of free life and realizing their exist as an exist human getting out the human alienation and by doing so that show the human figure who overcome from the alienation, realizing the existence value by self through work and recovering the independence, and I tried to show the bright human figure who living with independent determination. For this, I analysis the work, concentrating on topic and content, according to the scene stage configuration, migratory routes and movement of dancer, clothes and imagine of lighting. First chapter show human figure of anxiety who was isolated by the society domination and was alienated. To express these content, in alienate space as a center of stage where limit the space, be concentrated most, I use the top light which make the anxious and tension that red boundary. Also in center of stage space, I accent the merit of anxious of human who feel alienate with a image of alienate like a locked through the passive movement of low posture without the way of movement. I tried to mean the clothes as a bridle of society using a red long cloth which mean the warning and taboo, and show the painful human figure effectively, winding up neck of dancer with cloth like choking. Chapter two show the change of human psychology which was maximized, starting resistance to overcome alienation. According to dancer move to out of stage, divide the space of alienation fairly, not lean any side of sewerage and top water, I tried to switch of scene, extending to center of stage which space of resistance which variable and widespread and control whole stage and I light rectangle figure to expanded space. And in way light of narrow rectangle, I tried to show overcoming process by in stages, expanding a light by in stages with big circle which was composed of small circle. Also dancer in resistance space show human figure which be free and maximized human psychology which willing to against the alienation through floating moving route and expanded movement which mainly have speed of stiring hand and application that stiring and scattering the red clothes repeatedly. With use of clothes, make overcoming will as a visualization they show the human figure highlight who desires to free. Chapter 3 tried to deliver message of hopeful human figure to find real self through humanity recovery, overcoming alienation completely. Stage space use the 'space of hope' that diagonal line that extend toward in front of under water that close to audience, in this spaces, we tried to show positive human figure that living independent life through overcoming alienation with movement that step forward slowly and dancer see confidently with high sight according to straight moving route. And in chapter 3, dancer put off the red cloth completely, this tried to visualize human figure who was be freed because of overcoming alienation. Also I tried to highlight confident human figure who recovered independence through shining with way light in 'space of hope', in last scene, I tried at the same time to highlight the topic and deliver the hopeful end using a red light which means the passion. Therefore,「THE RED」express phenomenon of human alienation that people undergo and figure that overcome this. Researcher, through the work, has meaning of research that people who was isolated as a mentally and lost themselves realize value of existence of themselves, overcoming human alienation, and find the mean and value of life with mental health, recovering the identity of true mean as a natural figure of me, suggest that each of us must live an independent life as a host of society.;빠르게 변화하는 현대사회는 과학기술과 매체의 발달로 물질적 풍요를 가져왔으나 그 이면에는 정식적 빈곤이라는 더 큰 문제점을 야기하게 되었다. 현대인들은 급격하게 발전하는 사회의 변화속도를 따라가지 못하고 개인의 고유한 개성과 인격을 무시당한 채 기계처럼 취급받게 되면서 사회에서 점점 도태되어져 간다. 따라서 존재에 대한 상실과 외로움, 불안감이라는 심리적 고독감을 느끼고 내적으로 점점 고립되어 소외를 겪는 현대인이 증가하고 있으며 이러한 정서적 결핍이 심각해지면 진실한 ‘나’의 모습을 잃어버리는 인간소외의 극단적 상황에 이르게 된다. 이에 따라 현대인들은 정신적으로 보다 건강한 삶을 영위하기 위해 소외된 자신의 존재를 인지하여 소외현상으로부터 벗어나 개개인의 본질적인 존재가치를 확립하여야 한다. 따라서 사회에서 개인은 자신들의 목소리로 개개인의 고유성을 당당하게 드러내고 스스로의 삶에 목적성을 가진 존재로서 주체적인 삶의 가치와 의미를 모색하여 진정한 의미의 참된 자아를 실현하는 인간 존재의 중요성을 재인식하고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구자는 무용창작작품 「THE RED」(2012)를 프란츠 카프카(Franz Kafka, 1883-1924)의 소설 『변신(Die Verwandlung)』(1916)에서 다루는 인간소외를 소재로 안무하였다. 사회와 가족으로부터 점점 소외되어져가는 소설 속 주인공 그레고르를 통해 나타나는 ‘소외, 저항, 자아 발견’이라는 내용을 기반으로 하여 총 3장으로 구성하였다. 본 작품은 인간소외로부터 벗어나 실존하는 인간으로서 자신의 존재 인식을 통해 진정한 의미의 참된 자아를 발견하여 주체적인 의지로 삶을 실현하는 희망적인 인간의 모습을 전달하는 것을 주제로 창작되었으며, 작품을 통해 소외로부터 극복한 인간의 모습을 보여줌으로써 자신만의 신념과 생각으로 스스로의 삶을 능동적으로 개척해 나가는 모습을 보여주고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 작품을 주제 및 내용, 장면에 따른 무대구성, 무용수의 이동경로와 움직임, 의상과 조명의 이미지를 중심으로 분석하였다. 1장은 사회로부터 지배당하여 고립되고 소외를 겪는 불안한 인간의 모습을 나타내었다. 이와 같은 내용을 표현하기 위해 가장 집중이 잘되는 무대중심부로 공간을 제한한 ‘소외의 공간’에서 불안과 긴장감을 조성하는 붉은색의 경계가 뚜렷한 탑 조명을 사용하였다. 또한 제한된 무대중심부 공간 안에서 이동경로 없이 낮은 자세의 소극적인 움직임을 통해 갇혀있는 듯한 고립된 이미지로 소외를 겪는 불안한 인간의 정서적 특성을 강조하였다. 의상 또한 경고, 금기를 의미하는 붉은색의 긴 천을 사용하여 사회의 굴레를 상징하고자 하였으며, 천으로 무용수의 목을 조르듯이 감아 고통스러운 인간의 모습을 효과적으로 나타내고자 하였다. 2장은 소외로부터 극복하기 위해 저항하기 시작하면서 극대화된 인간의 심리변화를 나타내었다. 1장에서 제한되었던 ‘소외의 공간’ 인 중앙에서 가변적이고 광범위한 무대주변부로 공간을 확장시켜 상, 하수 어느 공간으로도 치우치지 않게 균등하게 나눈 무대 전체를 모두 아우르는 ‘저항의 공간’으로 장면전환을 시도하였으며, 확장된 공간에 직사각형 모양의 조명을 비추었다. 좁은 직사각형의 길 조명에서 작은 원들로 이루어진 큰 원으로 단계적으로 조명을 확장시켜 극복의지 과정을 단계적으로 나타내고자 하였다. 또한 무용수는 ‘저항의 공간’에서 유동적인 이동경로와 주로 팔을 휘젓는 속도감이 있고 확장된 움직임과 더불어 붉은 천의 의상을 반복적으로 뿌리고 휘두르는 활용을 통해 소외로부터 저항하려는 극대화된 인간의 심리상태와 자유로워진 인간의 모습을 나타내었다. 이러한 의상의 사용으로 극복의지를 시각화하여 자유를 갈망하는 인간의 모습을 부각시켜 나타내었다. 3장은 소외로부터 완전히 극복하여 인간성 회복을 통해 참된 자아를 발견하는 희망적인 인간의 모습을 전달하고자 하였다. 무대 공간은 관객과 가장 가까운 하수 앞쪽으로 뻗어져 나오는 사선의 길인 ‘희망의 공간’을 사용하였는데, 이러한 공간에 길 조명으로 뚜렷하게 비추어 주체성을 회복한 당당한 인간의 모습을 부각시키고자 하였으며, 마지막 장면에 열정을 의미하는 붉은색 조명을 사용하여 희망적인 결말을 전달하는 동시에 주제를 부각시키고자 하였다. 그리고 ‘희망의 공간’에서 직선적인 이동경로에 따라 무용수가 높은 시선으로 당당하게 바라보고, 한발 한발 천천히 걸어 나오는 움직임으로 주체적인 삶을 살아가는 긍정적인 인간의 모습을 뚜렷하게 나타내고자 하였다. 또한 무용수는 3장에서 붉은 천의 의상을 완전히 벗어버리는데, 이는 소외를 극복하여 자유로워진 인간의 모습을 시각화하여 나타내고자 하였다. 따라서 무용창작작품「THE RED」는 현대인이 겪는 인간소외현상과 이를 극복하는 모습을 표현하였다. 이에 본 연구자는 작품을 통하여 사회에서 요구하는 획일화된 틀 속에 자신을 맞춰나가면서 정신적으로 고립되는 현대인이 인간소외로부터 극복하여 스스로의 존재가치를 깨닫고 본연의 ‘나’의 모습으로 정신이 건강한 삶의 가치와 의미를 찾도록 하는데 연구의 의의를 가지며, 무용창작작품「THE RED」를 통해 주체적인 삶을 영위하기 위한 우리의 능동적인 의지는 매우 중요하다는 것을 전달하면서 개개인이 삶의 주인이 되어 자신만의 생각과 신념으로 스스로의 삶을 이끌어 나가고 개척할 수 있어야함을 제시하고자 하였다.
