Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회 프로그램에 대한 연구로서 각 작품의 음악적인 배경과 특징 및 연주에서 필요한 표현 방법들에 대한 작품 해설이다. J. S. Bach는 오페라를 제외한 모든 음악 분야의 작품을 작곡하였고 창작 시대동안 매우 다양하게 음악 양식을 연구하였다. 그의 작품들은 여러 나라들의 음악을 하나로 융합해 보여줄 정도로 함축적이고 창의적이다. 응집력이 있으면서도 독특한 주제, 풍부한 음악적 악상들, 추진력 있는 강력한 리듬, 형식의 확실성, 웅장하고 균형 있는 구조, 가사의 뜻이 내재된 상징적인 음형의 사용, 음악의 세세한 표현 등 그의 곡에는 많은 음악적 특징이 있다. L. Ronald는 영국작곡가로 음악적인 표현 기법의 정착에 있어서 그의 작품들은 지연적인 성공을 이루지 못했다. 20세기 초 이래로 영국의 가곡은 3가지 부류로 형성되는데, 그 첫째 범주는 모범적인 곡들로, 목소리는 돋보이게 효과적으로 잘 만들어졌지만 음악적인 가치는 거의 없는 곡들이고, 두 번째 범주는 순수하게 실험적인 곡들로, 대체로 다소 어색하게 쓰였으나 실용성을 중요시한 현대음악정신에는 일치되는 곡들이며, 세 번째 범주는 Schubert나 Debussy와 같이 영감적인 수준의 곡은 아니지만 독특한 개성과 음악적인 장점을 지니는 곡들이다. 그 중 A Cycle of Life는 세 번째 범주에 해당되는 작품으로 각 곡들마다 특징적인 멜로디를 가지고 있다. S. V. Rachmaninoff는 동시대의 작곡가들에게서 느낄 수 있는 현대음악의 특징을 보이지 않고, 쇤베르크가 창안한 12음기법의 수용과 Debussy의 독창적인 방법을 거부했다. 라흐마니노프는 음악의 낭만성과 서정성을 강조했고, 쇼팽과 리스트의 ‘노래하는 선율(Singing melody)'이라는 부드러운 선율과 풍부하고 아름다운 음향에 그의 음악적 특징을 집중시켰으며, 림스키코르사코프, 차이코프스키 등의 러시아 작곡가들에게 영향 받아 진취적이고 풍부한 선율과 화려한 음향을 바탕으로 서정적이고 사색적인 작품을 썼다. G. Bizet는 19세기 프랑스의 음악을 대표하는 작곡가임과 동시에 국민오페라라는 새 장르를 창조했다. 그의 가곡들은 리듬적인 측면에서 다양하고 독특한 화성을 가지고 있었지만 극음악에서 더 뛰어난 소질을 보였다. 플룻과 하프를 함께 사용하여 프랑스 음악의 절도 있는 색채적 효과를 주고 프랑스어를 극의 대사로서 음악과 밀접하게 연결시켰다. 또 이국적인 요소를 단순한 색채로 취급하지 않고 극적 분위기의 조성에 활용함과 등장인물의 성격을 묘사하는 특징이 있다. ;I have so far taken a look at the composers and the features of their music, time setting, contents of lyrics, and the technique within my Master’s course graduation performance program. J.S. Bach (1685~1760) is the last and the greatest composer of Baroque music in Germany, and through his music I was able to feel the past that contained the features of religion and the modern music which stressed on emotion, as well as the music style that was prevalent in Europe back then. 『cantata BWV149 Gottes Engel weichen nie』 is in an articulated style which sounds like a piece of dance music, and the joy of victory could be seen. 『cantata BWV211 “Ei! Wie schmeckt der Coffee süße”』 showed the state of period back then in Germany, and satiric elements of Bach and diverse musical styles are well expressed. L. Ronald (1873~1938) is an English composer of the modern 20th Century, who used simple and familiar melody lines to show the melodic and romantic lyricism of 19th Century. I took a look at the love song, A CYCLE OF LIFE. Seasonal features, and the composer’s love and life of the season were well reflected, allowing the harmony to be felt. 『Down in the forest』 made a use of recitativo which showed that Ronald had also worked as an Opera conductor, and the accompaniment was especially played not as a supporting role but as a significant role to stand out being a solo, and the harmony of the singer and the pianist allows better performance. S. V. Rachmaninoff (1873~1943) is a Russian composer who was also the most famous pianist in the early 20th Century. He was the last composer of Romantic, having well expressed the musical features of Russia in his songs. He did not use complex chords or melody, enabling us to see the factors of a melodious music that contained simple melody and inartificial material in which I could feel the traditional, tender, and pure music. As I looked through the Russian songs, the emotion and melody seemed quite similar to those of Korea’s, and the overall mood was weighty and gloomy. G. Bizet (1838~1875) is a French composer who showed talent in Opera. The features of characters within the play were well expressed in his music, and much exotic impressions were made. Multifarious melodies and dramatic expressions excelled any other work. Within this paper, the aria 『Je dis que rien ne m’ épouvante』 from a play had a prominent melody line that was lyrical and appealing just like the nature of ‘Micaëla’ from the play, which is unlike other arias that have powerful, captivating melody. These compact stage composition and description of characters showed Bizet’s unusual talent, and the fact that he had closely amalgamated the refined composition technique and French with the song as the lines of the play stands out.
