정서조절곤란과 음주동기가 문제음주에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 사무직 직장인을 대상으로 하여 정서조절곤란과 음주동기, 문제음주간의 구조적 관계를 알아보는 것이다. 선행 연구들을 토대로 하여, 정서조절곤란과 문제음주의 관계를 음주동기가 매개할 것이라는 가설을 세웠다. 이를 검증하기 위해 리서치회사 ‘엠브레인’을 통해 모집된 19세 이상이며 평생 음주경험이 1회 이상 있는 사무직 직장인 220명을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 실시하였다. 연구를 위해 사용된 척도는 한국판 정서조절곤란 척도(Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale; K-DERS), 음주동기 척도, 한국형 알코올장애 간이선별검사(Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test; AUDIT-K)이다. 설문을 통해 수집된 자료에 대해 기술통계와 상관분석을 실시하였고, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 주요 변인들에 대한 성차가 확인되어 연구모형에 대한 다집단 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주요 변인 간 상관분석 결과 정서조절곤란은 음주동기 및 문제음주와 정적 상관이 있었다. 음주동기와 문제음주 간에도 유의한 정적 상관이 확인되었다. 정서조절과 음주동기, 정서조절과 문제음주의 상관보다 음주동기와 문제음주간의 상관이 더 크게 나타났는데, 이는 음주동기가 문제음주를 매개하는 최종 경로라는 사전 연구들과 맥락을 같이한다. 둘째, 주요 변인들 간의 성차가 나타나는지 확인하기 위하여 독립표본 t검정을 실시하였다. 검정 결과, 정서조절곤란, 음주동기, 문제음주 모두에서 성별에 따른 평균차이가 유의하였다. 즉, 남성이 여성에 비해 문제음주정도가 높고, 음주동기가 높으며 정서조절곤란을 더 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 구조방정식 모형 검증 결과, 연구모형이 양호한 적합도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 정서조절곤란과 음주문제의 관계를 음주동기가 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 부트스트랩 절차를 사용하여 간접효과를 검증한 결과, 정서조절곤란이 음주문제를 경유하여 문제음주에 미치는 간접효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 위 결과는 정서조절곤란은 높은 수준의 음주동기 및 문제음주와와 관련이 있고, 높은 음주동기는 문제음주와 연관이 있음을 의미한다. 또한, 주요 변인들의 관련 연구모형에 대하여 성별에 따른 다집단 분석을 실시한 결과 성별에 따라 유의한 차이를 보이는 경로는 발견되지 않았다. 본 연구를 통해, 사무직 직장인들의 정서조절곤란과 문제음주의 관계에서 음주동기의 매개효과를 발견하였다. 이를 통해 정서조절곤란과 문제음주간의 관계를 발견하였을 뿐만 아니라 전 연구들에서 문제음주를 예측하는 주요 변인으로 여겨졌던 음주동기의 중요성을 재확인하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구결과를 활용하여 각 기업체에 속해있는 상담기관에서 문제음주를 보이는 사무직 직장인들의 정서조절곤란, 음주동기를 파악하고, 치료적 개입에 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 주요어: 음주동기, 문제음주, 정서조절곤란;The purpose of the study is to examine the relationships among emotional dysregulation, drinking motives and problem drinking. Based on previous studies, this study hypothesized mediation model of mediating mechanisms of drinking motives in the relation between emotion dysregulation and problem drinking. The data were collected through a written survey with 220 female and male office workers. The participants completed Alcohol Use disorder Identification Test(AUDIT), Difficulties in Emotional Regulation Scale(K-DERS), and Drinking Motives Questionnaire. To test the hypothesis, structure equation model(SEM) was used. Major findings of this study are as follows: First, there were significant correlations among emotional dysregulation, drinking motives and problem drinkings. Second, there are higher emotion dysregulation, drinking motives and problem drinking on male office workers than female office workers. Third, drinking motives partially mediate the relationship between emotional dysregualtion and problem drinking. In conclusion, this study suggest that emotional dysregulation is related to upper level of problem drinking and drinking motives that can contribute to problem drinking. Lastly, implications, practical use, limitations and suggestions for future study were discussed. Key words: Drinking Motives, Problem Drinking, Emotional Dysregulation
