대학생의 심리적 부모화와 갈등해결전략의 관계

Abstract

효를 중시하는 한국 문화에서 자녀의 부모역할은 암묵적으로 자연스럽게 기대되는 경우가 많다. 그런데 부모화 경험을 많이 한 자녀들은 성인이 되었을 때 연인이나 친한 친구와 같은 친밀한 대상과의 관계에서 갈등상황을 적절히 해결하는 것에 어려움을 느낀다는 선행연구 결과가 제시되었다. 성인기의 주요 지지적 자원인 연인, 친한 친구와 건강한 관계를 유지하는 것은 매우 중요하지만 이에 대한 연구는 부족한 것으로 보인다. 부모화와 갈등해결전략의 관계를 직접적으로 살펴본 연구는 소수이며 부모화가 어떠한 경로로 갈등해결전략에 이어지는지를 살펴본 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 심리적 부모화 경험이 갈등해결전략으로 가는 경로를 살펴봄으로써 이 같은 상황에서 심리적 고통을 경험하는 부모화된 자녀들의 치료적 개입에 대한 자료를 제공을 하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울 소재 대학교에 재학 중인 654명의 대학생을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였으며, 구조방정식 모형 분석방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 심리적 부모화 경험이 긍정적 갈등해결전략으로 가는 경로에서 애착 회피의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 둘째, 심리적 부모화 경험이 부정적 갈등해결전략으로 가는 경로에서 애착 불안과 정서표현 양가성을 순차적으로 매개하는 이중매개효과가 유의하였다. 셋째, 심리적 부모화 경험이 부정적 갈등해결전략으로 가는 경로에서 애착 회피와 정서표현 양가성을 순차적으로 매개하는 이중매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이 같은 결과는 부모화 경험을 많이 한 자녀들이 친밀한 관계에서의 갈등을 해결하는데 어려움을 겪는 경우 불안정 성인애착과 정서표현 양가성을 다루어줄 수 있는 개입이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다.;The primary purpose of this study was to examine the mediation effects of insecure adult attachment and ambivalence over emotional expression on the relationship between psychological parentification and conflict resolution strategies. There have been only a few studies regarding the relationship between psychological parentification and conflict resolution strategies, and no research has yet been done to investigate how the experience of being parentified leads to the use of certain strategies in conflict situations. In order to examine the hypotheses, structural equation modeling was conducted using data collected from 654 college students. The results indicated that there was a signification mediation effect of avoidant attachment on the relationship between psychological parentification and positive conflict resolution strategies. Also, there was a significant dual mediation effect of anxious attachment and ambivalence over emotional expression on the relationship between psychological parentification and negative conflict resolution strategies. Moreover, there was a significant dual mediation effect of avoidant attachment and ambivalence over emotional expression on the relationship between psychological parentification and negative conflict resolution strategies.
