Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사과정 졸업연주 곡목인 J. P. Rameau Gavotte With Variations, L. v. Beethoven Piano Sonata in E Major, Op.109, E. Grieg Piano Sonata in e minor, Op.7, S. Prokofiev Sarcasms Op.17에 대한 작품해설이다. Jean Philippe Rameau(1683-1764)는 바로크 시대의 가장 중요한 프랑스 작곡가, 음악 이론가이다. J. P. Rameau의「Gavotte With Variations」는 1716년 작곡된 <Nouvelles suites de pieces de clavecin>에 포함되어 있는 곡이고, 주제와 6개의 변주곡으로 이루어져있다. 원래 하프시코드를 위한 이 곡은 J. P. Rameau의 잘 알려진 작품 중 하나이며 변주곡 장르의 좋은 예이다. Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827)은 32곡의 피아노 소나타를 작곡했다. 후기에 속하는 5개의 피아노 소나타는 내면적 감정 표출에 의한 낭만주의 경향이 두드러지는 작품들이며, 그 중에서도 「Piano Sonata in E Major, Op.109」는 후기소나타에서 보이는 특징들이 잘 나타나있다. 총 3악장으로 구성되어있고, 1악장은 환상곡풍의 소나타, 2악장은 느린 악장이 아닌Prestissimo, 3악장은 주제와 6개의 변주곡으로 되어있다. Edvard Grieg(1843-1907)는 19세기 노르웨이를 대표하는 낭만주의 작곡가이다.「Piano Sonata in e minor, Op.7」은 그리그의 유일한 피아노 소나타이며 4개 악장으로 이루어져 있는데, 1악장은 Allegro moderato의 소나타 형식으로 제시부, 발전부, 재현부, 코다로 구성되어있고, 2악장은 andante molto의 A-B-A'형식, 3악장은 Alla Menuetto ma poco piu lento의 미뉴엣-트리오-미뉴엣 형식, 4악장은 molto allegro의 소나타 형식으로 되어 있다. Sergey Prokofiev(1891~1953)는 러시아 작곡가로 20세기 피아노 음악사의 중요한 위치를 차지한다. 그의 음악적 성향은 활동시기와 지역에 따라 3시기로 나뉘는데, 그 중 그의 초기 작품 활동 시기에 쓰인 「Sarcasms Op.17」은 5개의 소품으로 이루어진 모음곡으로서, 그의 고전적 요소(The Classical element), 현대적 요소(The Modern element), 토카타적 요소(The Toccata element), 서정적 요소(The Lyrical element), 괴기함적 요소 (The Grotesque element)들을 잘 활용하여 작곡된 곡이다.;The purpose of this graduate recital program annotation is to advance understanding in performances of 4 pieces. The pieces selected for the recital are J. P. Rameau Gavotte With Variations, L. v. Beethoven Piano Sonata in E Major, Op.109, E. Grieg Piano Sonata in e minor, Op.7, S. Prokofiev Sarcasms Op.17. Jean Philippe Rameau(1683-1764) was one of the most important French composers and music theorists of the Baroque era. J. P. Rameau's 「Gavotte With Variations」is a work of <Nouvelles suites de pieces de clavecin>,which has a theme and six variations. This work, originally meant for harpsichord, is one of Jean Philippe Rameau's better known pieces. Although, this is a fine example of the of the theme and variations genre. Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827) had written 32 piano sonatas. The five late Piano Sonatas are remarkable for showing a tendency to romanticism by expressing internal emotions. Above all, 「Piano Sonata in E Major, Op.109」exhibits the characteristics of late Piano Sonata very well. This sonata consists of 3 movements. The first movement is a sonata-allegro form of fantasia style, The second movement is Prestissimo and sonata allegro form, different from typical second movements of slow tempo. The third movement has a theme and 6 variations. Edvard Grieg(1843-1907) was one of the most representative composers of romantic music in the nineteenth century in Norway. This traditional sonata consists of four movements, namely, the first movement, Allegro moderato, is composed of exposition-development-recapitulation and coda; the second, andante molto, is in the A-B-A′ pattern, the third, Alla Menuetto ma poco piu lento is composed of minuet-trio-minuet and the fourth movement, molto allegro, like the first, is of the traditional sonata form. Sergey Prokofiev(1891~1953) is a Russian composer and prominent place in the twentieth century. His musical tendency is divided into three periods according to his musical activity and region.「Sarcasms Op.17」that belongs to his early works is made up five morceaux. It demonstrates the five elements that are The Classical, The Modern, The Toccata , The Lyrical, and The Grotesque elements.
