화장시설 실내공간의 조명 연출에 관한연구

Abstract

화장장은 각국의 환경적 문화적 특징에 맞추어 발전해왔다. 하지만 불에 태운다는 화장의 특성 때문에 화장을 주 장법으로 하는 국가에서도 화장이라는 장법 자체보다는 화장장이라는 장소에 대하여 부정적인 이미지를 벗어날 수 없었다. 선진 국가들은 이미 이러한 사실을 인지하고, 화장장 건축물의 변화를 통하여 화장장에 대한 긍정적 인식개선을 의도했다. 현재는 화장장이라는 공간기능을 넘어 외부적으로는 지역사회와 소통하며, 내부적으로는 고인에 대한 추모와 함께 유족들의 정서적인 위로를 위한 새로운 문화공간으로서의 변화의 중심에 서있다. 우리나라의 경우 화장기술은 꾸준히 발전되어 왔지만 공간 구성이나 공간의 의미에 대한 표현은 최근에 들어서야 서서히 변화하는 추세이다. 하지만 신축되지 않은 기존의 화장장은 그 공간이 과거에 머물러있어 공간을 이루는 요소 중 하나인 빛은 화장장 공간에 필요한 감성적 요소가 결여된 채 방치되고 있는 실정이다. 화장장이라는 특수한 목적의 공간으로서의 공간임에도 불구하고 일반 건축물과 다를 바 없는 빛 환경을 조성하고 있다. 즉 공간의 의미나 특성의 표현보다는 단순한 조도 조절의 기능만을 행하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 앞으로의 화장장의 발전에 앞서 화장장 공간의 빛의 연출에 초점을 맞추어 진행되었다. 실내공간에서의 빛의 연출 특성을 분석하여 화장장 공간에 맞춘 빛의 연출 요소를 도입함으로서 장례공간으로서의 정체성과 함께 이용자 중심에서 고인의 부재에 관한 상실감으로부터 긍정적인 분위기로의 환기에 이르는 공간 디자인 제안을 목적으로 한다. 이를 목표로 본 연구의 내용과 구성은 다음과 같은 과정으로 진행되었다. 제 1장에서는 본 논문의 배경과 목적, 연구의 방법과 내용을 서술한다. 제 2장에서는 실내공간에서의 빛의 개념과 표현특성에 관해 고찰한다. 제 3장에서는 화장장의 빛의 연출 방법과 국내외 화장장 사례분석을 통하여 빛의 연출특성과 요소를 활용한 공간디자인의 적용 가능성을 검토한다. 제 4장에서는 2장의 연구와 3장의 사례분석을 바탕으로 빛의 표현특성을 적용한 화장장 공간디자인 방법을 제시한다. 제 5장에서는 본 연구에서 조사·분석한 내용을 바탕으로 결론을 도출한 후 연구의 의의와 앞으로의 연구방향에 대해 제시하였다. 그 결과를 종합하자면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공간에 유입되는 빛의 양과 질에 따라 빛의 특성이 달라진다. 조명의 연출에 따라 공간을 이용하는 이용자의 심리 뿐 아니라 행동의 변화까지 의도 할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 화장장 공간의 빛 연출은 단순 화장시설이 아닌 장례공간으로서의 정체성을 상징한다. 공간의 조도조절의 기능을 넘어서 상징적인 표현을 통하여 단순 화장시설이 아닌 장제공간으로서의 정체성을 나타내고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 화장장은 장제공간의 마지막 절차로서 화장장 방문객 뿐 아닌 고인을 고려한 공간계획이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통하여 빛의 연출요소 및 빛의 특성을 도입한 화장장 공간을 제안함에 있어 화장장을 이용하는 유족에게 공간의 체험을 통해 고인에 대한 추모와 함께 슬픔을 이겨내고 승화시키도록 도와주는 공간을 연출할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 앞으로 계획되는 화장장 공간에 빛의 개념을 도입하여 보다 발전된 장제 공간으로서의 디자인 제안에 본 연구의 의의가 있다 하겠다.;Cremation has developed keeping pace with environmental and cultural characteristics of each country. However, even people who live in a country where cremation is widely used have a negative image of crematory. Advanced countries recognized that crematory has a negative image and attempted to improve recognition for crematory by changing buildings of crematory. It is time that crematory should be used to communicate with local community and used as cultural space where family of the deceased commemorate the memory of a deceased person. Cremation technique has continued to develop. For Korea, in recent years, construction of space and expression of meaning of space have changed slowly. However, space of existing crematory remains unchanged and light which is one element composing space left unattended with absence of emotional element which is required for crematory. Light used for crematory is similar to that used for general buildings. Light used for crematory does not express the meaning and characteristics of space properly. This study focused on lighting display in crematory based on above mentioned problems. The purpose of this study is to propose design of crematory from positive atmosphere to ventilation by analyzing characteristics of light in indoor space and introducing display of light which is suitable for crematory. This study is organized as follows. In chapter 1, background, objectives, method and content of this thesis are described. In chapter 2, concept and characteristics of lights in indoor space are considered. In chapter 3, applicability of space design that uses characteristics and elements of light by analyzing method of displaying light and cases of crematory at home and abroad. In chapter 4, method of designing crematory that characteristics of lights are applied based on research in chapter 2 and case analysis in chapter 3 is presented. In chapter 5, conclusion of this study is drawn based on research and analysis and significance of this study and further research are presented. Findings of this study are as follows. First, characteristics of light vary depending on amount and quality of light that enters space. Display of light influences feeling and behavior of people who use space. Second, display of light in crematory symbolizes identity as funeral space beyond crematory. It was found that display of light may help crematory express identity as funeral space through symbolic expression. Third, crematory needs consideration and plans from space planning to construction as the last procedure of funeral space. This study found that display of light helps family of the deceased commemorate the memory of a deceased person and sublimate sorrow by providing comfortable space. This study is significant in that it suggests a better design by introducing light into crematory.
