글램패션의 표현 특성을 활용한 패션 스타일링 연구

Abstract

패션은 다양한 사회적 요소들과 시대적 상황을 반영하는 것으로 과학과 대중 매체 등 다양한 매스미디어의 발달은 정형화 되지 않은 새로운 스타일과 유행을 선도한다. 더불어 현대 사회에서 패션은 개인의 가치관, 취향, 성격 등 지극히 개인적인 성향을 시각적 요소를 통해 하나의 이미지로 창출하는 역할을 하고 개인의 이상향과 사회적 위치 또한 표현하고 있어 오늘날 패션 스타일링의 역할은 확대되고 있다. 최근 과학기술의 발달로 인한 경제적 풍요는 인간의 정신적 가치에 대한 새로운 질문을 던지며 과거에 대한 회귀로 이어졌는데, 이러한 복고주의적 성향은 현대 패션에 있어 새로운 디자인 영감이 되고 재해석을 통해 새롭게 등장하고 있다. 특히 하위문화는 기존세대의 문화에 반하는 가치관을 통해 새로운 문화를 형성하고 이 특성을 대변하는 새로운 패션 스타일을 창조하였으며 그 시대에 유행했던 대중음악은 하위 집단의 정체성과 상호연관적인 특성을 갖고 있다. 이러한 과거시대의 산출물들은 현대 패션에 있어 새로운 영감이 되어 하위집단의 본래의 성격은 사라졌지만 패션의 미적요소들로 활용되면서 현대 패션에 차용되고 있다. 특히 1970년대 발생한 글램록(Glam Rock)은 그 이전의 대중음악이 보여준 스타일과는 달리 시각적인 자극을 중심으로 전례에 없는 스타일을 선보였으며, 이를 통해 탄생한 글램패션은 차후에 발생하는 패션 트렌드에 지대한 영향을 주어 오늘날 패션에 리바이벌(revival)되어 새로운 미적 가치를 창출하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 현대패션에 있어 시각적 연출 요소가 풍부한 글램패션의 특성을 연구하고 그 표현 특성을 도출하고 활용하여 현대적 감각의 글램패션 스타일링을 제시함으로써 스타일링 분야에 있어 표현 영역이 확대되는 것을 목적으로 두고 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 각종 선행연구 자료와 단행본, 자료 검색을 통하여 패션 스타일링의 개념과 표현 방법에 대해 살펴보고 글램패션에 대한 정의와 발생배경 및 글램패션에 나타나는 표현 특성을 연구 하였다. 이를 토대로 글램패션의 패러디성이 강한 여성성에 대한 과도한 표현 특성을 극단적인 여성성의 상징인 코르셋과 뷔스티에 아이템으로 연결하여 현대 글램패션에서 나타나는 양성성, 장식성, 퇴폐성, 미래성의 표현 특성에 따라 3테마로 나누어 6점의 재해석된 글램패션스타일링을 제시하였고, 자극적인 모델 연출과 강렬한 공간 연출을 통해 시각적 효과가 뛰어난 글램패션의 스타일링을 연출 하였다. 본 작품 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현대 패션은 여러 트렌드가 공존하여 나타나며, 패션은 미의식과 더불어 수많은 상징성을 내포 하고 있으며 현대인들은 개인의 니즈에 맞게 이를 수용한다. 따라서 현대 패션에서 스타일링 개념은 더욱 중요시 되고 있으며 패션 스타일리스트의 역할 또한 확대 되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 선행 연구를 통해 초기 글램패션을 과도한 여성에 대한 집착과 패러디성이 강한 기괴한 장식의 표현, 환영적인 미래적 감성 표현으로 추출 할 수 있었고 이러한 특성들은 현대 글램패션에서도 양성성, 장식성, 퇴폐성, 미래성의 표현 특성으로 연결되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 윙숄더 디테일로 남성의 넓은 어깨를 강조한 테일러드 코트와 재킷 아이템들로 남성성을, 과도한 프린지 디테일과 스트랩 장식을 활용한 전위적인 뷔스띠에와 코르셋 아이템들로 여성의 섹슈얼을 표현 하고 이를 조화시켜 글램패션의 양성성을 연출할 수 있었다. 넷째, 메탈릭한 컬러가 가공된 소재와 빛의 반사 효과를 가진 글리터한 소재, 파이톤 가죽, 페이던트 가죽, 메시 소재와 애니멀 프린트등 퇴폐적이고 장식성이 강한 소재와 문양을 활용한 의상과 액세서리는 과시적이고 화려한 이미지를 제공하여 글램패션 스타일링에 있어 뛰어난 연출 요소임을 알 수 있었다. 다섯 째, 블랙과 중채도의 퍼플계열, 브라운과 레드계열의 색상을 중심으로 실버와 골드, 고채도의 메탈릭 핑크, 레드 색상을 액센트로 하여 절제와 강조를 통한 고급스러운 현대적 감각의 글램패션 이미지를 연출할 수 있었다. 또한 각 작품의 테마별 배경 색채를 그린, 레드, 블루로 선택하고 강렬한 조명을 활용해 화려했던 글램록 뮤지션들의 무대 분위기를 재현 하여 완성도 높은 글램패션 스타일링을 연출할 수 있었다. 여섯 째, 글리터한 블루, 골드, 핑크를 주 컬러를 활용한 메이크업으로 화려하고 강렬한 글램패션의 이미지를 제시할 수 있었다. 또한 각 작품테마 의도에 따라 글램록 뮤지션의 심볼 메이크업과 헤어를 패러디하고 기괴한 페이스 페인팅과 헤어장식을 활용하여 장식성이 강한 글램패션의 특성을 표현할 수 있었다. 일곱 째, 연구 주제의 특성에 맞는 중성적인 이미지의 모델을 선택하여 화보 촬영을 진행하고 모델이 각 컷 마다 글램패션의 표현 특성인 양성성, 장식성, 퇴폐성, 미래성을 표현 할 수 있도록 작품 의도를 설명 하였다. 이와 같은 작업으로 모델의 연출력을 통해 효과적인 이미지의 작품 결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 컨셉 의도에 따른 모델 선정과 작품의도에 따른 모델의 연출 능력은 스타일링 화보에 중요한 요소임을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 하위 문화였던 글램이 현대 패션 스타일링에 있어 풍부한 표현적 요소임에 주목하여 글램패션에 대한 연구를 통해 표현 특성을 분석하고 활용하여 현대적인 글램패션 스타일링을 제시하였다. 본 논문을 통하여 글램패션에 대한 연구가 확대되고 이를 바탕으로의 스타일링 분야에서 연구가 확대되고 지속적인 발전이 이루어지기를 기대한다.;Fashion is something reflected by various social elements and situations of that time, and development of science and various mass media leads new unstandardized styles and trends. Furthermore, as fashion of modern society performs a role to create personal inclination such as a person’s values, taste, and personality with a image of visual elements and also expresses ideal type and social status of a person, the role of fashion styling today is expanding. Economic affluence thanks to development of recent scientific technology has cast a question about human psychic value and led to regression of the past. This trend of retro style is newly emerging through inspiration of new designs and its reinterpretation in the field of modern fashion. Particularly, subcultures forms a new culture with values against existing generations and creates a new fashion style to represent this characteristics. Popular music of that time shows characteristics of identity and correlation with subgroups. This deliverables of the past become a new inspiration of modern fashion. Though original characteristics of subgroups disappear, aesthetic elements of the fashion are borrowed and used for modern fashion. In particular, Glam Rock in the 1970’s showed an unprecedented style of visual-stimulation-centeredness unlike styles shown from previous popular music. Glam fashion derived from Glam Rock has a great influence on subsequent fashion trends and creates a new aesthetic value since it revives as a fashion today. In this respect, this study is aimed to work on the characteristics of Glam Fashion full of visual display elements of modern fashion and to expand expressive range of styling field by drawing and using the characteristics of the expression and by suggesting Glam Fashion styling of modern sense. The content and method of this study was to examine the concept of fashion styling and the expressive method through various previous researches and books and data search and to work on the definition of Glam Fashion, background of occurrence, and its expressive characteristics. On this basis, as the excessive expressive characteristics about the femininity of strong parody of Glam Fashion were connected with corset and bustier items as symbols of extreme feminity, 6 pieces of reinterpreted Glam Fashion styling were suggested by dividing them into 3 themes according to the expressive characteristics of androgyne, decorativeness, decadence, and futurity shown from modern Glam Fashion. Glam Fashion styling with excellent visual effect was displayed by sensational model presentation and exquisite spacial presentation. The results of this study are as follows. First, modern fashion coexists with diverse trends and fashion involves numerous kinds of symbolism as well as aesthetic consciousness. Modern people accept them according to their needs. Therefore, it was found that concept of modern fashion styling was considered more important and the roles of fashion stylists was also expanding. Second, the early phase of Glam Fashion was concluded as excessive obsession on women, expression of eccentric ornament of parody, and illusory future emotional expression by previous researches. It was revealed that these characteristics were connected with the expressive ones of androgyne, decorativeness, decadence, and futurity shown from modern Glam Fashion. Third, androgyne of Glam Fashion was displayed by harmonizing masculinity of tailored coat and jacket items with manly wide shoulder emphasized by wing shoulder detail and sexual expression of feminity with antiform bustier and corset items of using excessive fringe detail and strap ornament. Fourth, it was revealed that clothes and accessaries of using materials and patterns full of decadence and decorativeness, such as materials processed with metalic colors, glittering material with effect of reflecting light, Python leather, patent leather, mesh material, and animal print provided flamboyant and fancy images and they were excellent elements for fashion styling. Fifth, luxurious and modern sense of Glam Fashion image were displayed by moderation and emphasis with colors of black and purple-line of middle saturation and brown and red-line at the center and with colors of silver and gold, metalic pink of high saturation, and red as accents. In addition, green, red, and blue were selected as background colors of each work according to themes and atmosphere of the stage was realized by Glam Rock musicians who used to be showy by using intense illumination, which enabled Glam Fashion styling to be displayed with high completion. Sixth, fancy and intense image of Glam Fashion was presented by makeup of using main colors of glittering blue, gold, and pink. Besides, symbolic makeup and hair style of Glam Rock musician were parodied according to intentions of each work theme and characteristics of Glam Fashion with strong decorativeness were expressed by using eccentric face painting and hair ornaments. Seventh, after selecting a model with androgynous image according to the theme of this study, photo shoot was performed and the intentions of works were explained for the model to represent expressive characteristics of Glam Fashion of androgyne, decorativeness, decadence, and futurity on each cut of photo. Thanks to the model’s production ability from these works, results of works with effective image was achieved, It was revealed that selection of a model according to concept intention and the model’s production ability according to work intention are important elements for styling photo. In this respect, this study paid attention to the fact that Glam which used to be a subculture was an abundant expressive element for modern fashion styling and suggested modernistic Glam Fashion styling by analyzing and using its expressive characteristics through the research of Glam Fashion. It is expected that this study can contribute to expansion of Glam Fashion research, and extension and consistent development of styling research on this basis.
