Program Annotation

Abstract

본고는 석사과정 졸업 연주회 프로그램을 연구한 논문으로 각 작품의 작곡가, 가사, 곡의 특징을 분석하여 곡에 대한 이해를 도모하고자 하였다. 특히 작품의 가사가 곡의 음악적 특징에 어떻게 반영되어있는지를 중점적으로 분석하였다. 비발디(Antonio Vivaldi, 1678-1741)는 바로크 시대의 대표적인 작곡가이다. 모테트인『하늘과 땅의 주여(O qui coeli terraeque serenitas, RV 631)』는 라틴어의 가사로 되어있는데, 하나님께 소망을 기도하고 현세의 덧없음을 이야기하는 종교적인 내용을 표현하고 있다. 이 작품은 한 개의 레치타티보로, 두 개의 다 카포 아리아(da capo aria), 리토르넬로(ritornello) 형식의‘알렐루야’로 구성되어 있다. 레치타티보는 레치타티보 세코 형태로 말하는 억양에 기초를 두어 작곡되었고, 두 개의 아리아는 빠르기와 분위기에서 대조를 이루고 있다. 클라라 슈만(Clara Schumann, 1819-1896)은 19세기의 독일의 대표적인 여성 피아니스트이자 낭만주의 시대의 작곡가이다. 헤르만 롤렛(Hermann Rollet, 1819-1904)의 시에 곡을 붙인『유쿤데에 의한 여섯 개의 가곡(Sechs Lieder aus Jucunde, Op.23)』은 자연에서 보고 느낀 것을 표현한 작품인데, 여섯 개의 가곡은 유절형식, 변형유절형식, 통작형식으로 작곡되었다. 이 곡은 피아니스트로 활동하였던 그녀의 화려한 반주부가 돋보이는 곡인데, 특히 제2곡과 제6곡에서 아르페지오로 연주되는 반주부가 특징적이다. 에이미 비치(Amy Beach, 1867-1944)는 미국의 대표적인 여성 피아니스트이자 작곡가이다. 그녀는 보스턴 그룹의 일원으로 미국에서만 수학하고, 낭만음악을 바탕으로 미국적인 음악을 만들고자 노력하였다. 로버트 브라우닝(Robert Browning, 1812-1889)의 시에 의한『세 개의 브라우닝 가곡(Three Browning Songs, Op.44)』은 낭만주의 음악의 영향을 받아 호소력 있는 선율을 바탕으로 자연과 사랑에 대한 인간의 내면적인 감정을 이야기하고 있다. 앙브루아즈 토마(Ambroise Thomas, 1811-1896)는 19세기 후반, 프랑스 서정주의 오페라(Opera Lyrique)의 대표적인 작곡가이다. 서정주의 오페라인『햄릿(Hamlet)』은 19세기 초반 벨칸토 오페라의 영향을 받아 콜로라투라 소프라노를 여주인공으로 하였다. 4막의 ‘저의 꽃을 여러분에게!(Partagez-vous mes fleurs!)’는 연인 햄릿에게 버림받아 광란의 상태가 된 오필리아의 아리아이다. 경쾌한 왈츠, 표현적인 발라드, 실성한 웃음과 울음의 반복은 정신을 놓아버린 오필리아의 상태를 표현하였다. 이 광란의 아리아는 연주자의 화려한 음색과 테크닉을 발휘 할 수 있는 곡이다.;This study aims for a better performance and an understanding of songs, focusing on the program of the graduation recital for master’s degree of the author, by studying the composers’ lives, works, lyrics and musical formats. Antonio Vivaldi(1678-1741), a leading composer of the Baroque era, composed 12 motets. 『O qui coeli terraeque serenitas, RV 631』, which is one of his motet works, has religious lyrics in Latin. It consists of two da capo arias, a brief recitative and ‘Alleluia’. Two arias are written in da capo aria and ‘Alleluia’ is written in Ritornello form which was a typical style during baroque period. The two arias have opposite characteristics in their tempo and mood. Clara Schumann(1819-1896), the wife of Robert Schumann(1810-1856), was a well-known German female pianist and composer at the same time during 19th century. She was one of the most representative Romantic composers. She chose ‘Jucunde’, poem of Herman Rollet(1819-1904) as texts for 『Sechs Lieder aus Jucunde, Op.23』, which expresses nature and its related emotions and ideas. And she often adopted chromatic scale, word painting and nonharmonic tones. Being as a pianist, she appears her a natural talent for music through her impressive accompaniment. Amy Beach(1867-1944) was the first American woman pianist and composer. she was well-known person who composed symphonies, operas, chamber music, songs, and etc. She was a member of Boston group whose intent was to find the style of American music. 『Three Browning Songs, Op.44』is one of her major works. It is very expressive and it follows Post-Romantic style. The songs show exceptional sense concerning the colorful harmony that expresses emotion. Ambroise Thomas(1811-1896) is one of leading 19th century opera composer. The genre of 『Hamlet』 is an Opera Lyric. Ophelie’s aria ‘Partagez-vous mes fleurs!’, which appears in act 4, expresses her emotional state of misery. Her lover, Hamlet, has left Ophelie, who then leaves for the countryside. So she was very sad, got emotional and finally she ended up with her life. She cries and laughs repetitively. This aria is long and requires the singer to perform high level of techniques and dramatic expression of emotions.
