Abstract
This paper is focused on the transformational aspects by comparing the sound source of gramophone which was recorded into wax by Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob in 1936 and the current one of Gyeong-gi Jabga . For the convenience of comparison, I divide the melody of into several paragraphs and analyze the melody, rhythm, Malbuchimsae, by each paragraph. As a result the following facts are obtained. First, the full music can be divided into three paragraphs based on the chorus except the intro. Each paragraph can be broken down into detailed paragraphs in accordance with the breath of the sound. The first paragraph is composed of five parts and the chorus, the second one is consisting of four parts and the chorus lastly the third paragraph is divided into two parts. Second, the tone of appearance of of Lee Chunhee’s melody includes more ornamentations than Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob’s. That is because Lee Chunhee covers a lot of ornamentations into the melody due to the Sigimsae. Third, it demonstrates that two versions of mutually progress gradually by the review of the distinguishing Sigimsae at the first beginning part of each paragraph, the fine, and overall forms. However there are differences in many detailed ways by Sigimsae such as the location of the appoggiatura(ornamentation from front) and distinction of the vibrato, existence of brief breath, the closing of vibrato in the first paragraph. Lee Chunhee’s melody uses many Ab(Re) on the Chorus, it makes to seem the form has been extended generally. Additionally it is clear that Lee Chunhee splendidly expresses it with Original tune-Major 2nd, Perfected 4th, perfected 5th contrast to Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob’s melody which uses Original tune-Major 3rd of the Sigimsae on the second paragraph. At the third paragraph Lee Chunhee’s melody use the Sigimsae that would wind up the Original tune to the next. As well as it becomes to distinguish that the location of the Siminsae which hits the next tune consistently and the form of ornamentation. Forth of Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob begins with M.M ♩.=62 and slow down to ♩. =58 or ♩.=60 in the latter half. Conversely, of Lee Chunhee keeps M.M ♩.=46. Thus the current is slower than the former form. Two melodies are composed 6-beat of Dodeuri based on the first paragraph to third, 4-beat in the latter half on the chorus. The basis 6-beat melody of Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob emphasizes at the fifth beat and sixth, though the melody of Lee Chunhee stresses at the later part of fifth beat. Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob highlights each syllable, Lee Chunhee accentuates at the back of the third beat at the 4-beat. Two melodies maintain the base of the rhythm however the parts that they underline would be different depending on the breath of the song. by Gu Daegam, Kim Ogyeob and Lee Chunhee present similarity at the beginning of the each paragraph regarding Malbuchimsae which helps to connect rhythms. Nevertheless I confirm that few syllables are added, deleted, and changed additionally Malbuchimsae is changed partly as well.
