대학생의 관계지향성이 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 관계지향성과 대인관계문제 간의 관계를 정서표현양가성이 매개하는지를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 서울시와 경기도에 소재한 대학교의 대학생들 250명을 대상으로 자기보고식 질문지 조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 관계지향성은 Robins 등(1994)이 제작하고 이민규(2000)가 번안한 성격 양식 질문지(Revised Personal Style Inventory; PSI-Ⅱ)를 사용하였으며, 정서표현양가성은 King과 Emmons(1990)가 개발한 정서표현양가성 질문지(Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire; AEQ)를 최해연과 민경환(2007)이 번안하여 타당화한 AEQ-K를 사용하였다. 대학생의 대인관계문제를 측정하기 위해 홍상황 등(2002)이 구성한 한국판 대인관계문제검사 원형척도의 단축형(Short form of the KIIP Circumplex scales; KIIP-SC)을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 변인들 간의 상관관계를 산출하고, t검정 및 단순회귀분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 따른 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 본 연구에서는 대학생의 관계지향성과 대인관계문제 간의 관계를 밝힐 수 있었으며, 그 과정에서 정서표현양가성이 매개하는 것을 확인하였다. 정서표현양가성은 전체 대학생의 관계지향성과 대인관계문제의 하위요인 중 “사람들에게 향함”의 문제를 부분 매개하였고, 관계지향성과 대인관계문제의 하위요인 중 “사람들에게 맞섬”과 “사람들에게서 멀어짐”의 문제 간의 관계를 완전 매개하였다. 즉, 대학생의 관계지향성이 높을수록 정서표현양가성이 높으며, 이로 인해 더 높은 수준의 대인관계문제를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 대학생의 대인관계문제를 하위요인 별로 성에 따른 차이를 살펴본 결과, 남자 대학생들의 정서표현양가성은 관계지향성과 대인관계문제 하위요인 중 “사람들에게 향함” 간의 관계를 부분매개 하였고, 관계지향성과 대인관계문제 하위요인 중 “사람들에게 맞섬” 간의 관계를 완전매개 하였다. 한편, 여자 대학생들의 정서표현양가성은 남자 대학생들과 마찬가지로 관계지향성과 대인관계문제 하위요인 중 “사람들에게 향함” 간의 관계를 부분 매개 하였고, 관계지향성과 대인관계문제 하위요인 중 “사람들에게 향함” 간의 관계를 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 상담 장면에서 남녀 대학생들이 호소하는 대인관계문제의 양상을 구체적으로 확인하고 대학생들의 내적인 성향과 정서표현성을 고려하여 대학생들의 적응력을 높이기 위한 방안을 마련하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.;The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of sociotropy , as perceived by university students, and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness on their interpersonal problem. A total of 248 university students (127 males and 121 females) living in Seoul and Gyonggi responded to questionnaires, which included items related to sociotropy, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and interpersonal problem. The data was analyzed by t-test, correlation analysis and regression analysis with mediation effect. The primary results of this study were as follows: First, university students' sociotropy was correlated with ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and interpersonal problem. It was suggested that person with high level of sociotropy experienced more emotional expressive conflict and interpersonal problem that person with low level of sociotropy. Second, male and female university students' ambivalence over emotional expressiveness partially mediated the relation between sociotropy and move toward other people, one of the interpersonal problem's subtypes. Male university students' ambivalence over emotional expressiveness has fully mediated the relation between sociotropy and move against other people, one of the interpersonal problem's subtypes. And female university students' ambivalence over emotional expressiveness has fully mediated the relation between sociotropy and move away from other people, one of the interpersonal problem's subtypes. According to gender difference, different interpersonl problems were appeared. This study's results may provide some important suggestions for interpersonal problems in university students by increasing understanding of multiple dimensions according to their internal tendency and emotional expressiveness.
