발달장애인의 차별경험이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

Abstract

발달장애인이란 「발달장애인법」에서 지적장애와 자폐성장애로 정의한다. 2015년 11월 발달장애인법의 시행을 앞두고 발달장애인들에 대한 정확한 이해와 이들의 사회통합을 위한 마음으로 본 연구를 시작하였다. 발달장애인에게 중요한 것은 자아존중감이다. 사회적으로 만연한 차별의 경험들은 자아존중감에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤을 것이고, 이들에게 심리적으로 부정적인 요인들이 만연해 있다면 이는 사회통합으로 가는 큰 장애가 될 것이라고 생각했다. 따라서 본 연구는 발달장애인이 차별을 경험함으로써 낮아지는 자아존중감을 완화시키기 위해서 생활만족도의 매개효과를 검증해 보았고, 이러한 변수간의 관계에서 근로소득 유무의 조절효과를 검증해 보았다. 본 연구의 분석자료는 장애인고용패널 제5차년도(2012년) 데이터이다. 분석대상은 총 213명의 발달장애인으로 제5차년도 조사에서 추적 및 조사에 성공한 지적장애인 189명과 자폐성장애인 24명이었다. 자료의 통계분석은 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 18을 사용하였다. 장애인고용 패널자료를 이용하여 발달장애인을 대상으로 매개효과와 조절효과를 구할 수 있는 구조방정식을 이용하였다는 점은 다른 연구와의 큰 차별성이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발달장애인이 겪는 차별경험은 자아존중감에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 발달장애인이 겪는 차별경험이 자아존중감에 미치는 경로모형에서 생활만족도는 완전매개 되었다. 셋째, 다중집단 분석결과, 이러한 변수 간의 관계는 근로소득 유무에 따라 달라졌다. 구체적으로 생활만족도가 자아존중감에 미치는 경로에서 근로소득 유무에 따른 조절효과가 나타났다. 근로소득 유무에 따라 상이한 결과를 근거하여 발달장애인을 위한 실천적 함의를 제시하였다. 주제어: 발달장애인, 차별경험, 생활만족도, 자아존중감, 근로소득, 구조방정식;Developmental disability is defined in the "Developmental Disabilities Act" in intellectual disabilities and autistic disorders. Self-esteem is important for peoples with developmental disability. Experience of discrimination prevalent in society are thought to occur a negative impact on self-esteem. In addition, if a psychologically negative factors prevailing thought, it will be a big obstacle going to social integration. Therefore, this study was to verify the mediating effect of life satisfaction in order to mitigate the lowered self-esteem is developed by experienced discrimination. The fifth year(2012) data of Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled were analyzed in this study by structural equation modeling. The study sample was a total of 213 peoples with developmental disability. The survey of the fifth year was conducted by 189 peoples of intellectual disability and 24 peoples of autistic disability. Statistical analysis of the data was used SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18. The big difference with the other studies investigated the SEM of the effects and adjust effect parameters for hiring disabled persons using panel data of peoples with developmental disability. The results of this study were as follows. First, the discrimination experienced by peoples with developmental disability had a negative impact on self-esteem. Second, the impact of the discrimination experiences on self-esteem was fully mediated by the life satisfaction. Third, in the multi-group analysis, the relationship among variables was different depending upon the presence or absence of the earned income. Specifically, there was a moderating effect of earned income in the path impact of life satisfaction on self-esteem. this study suggested practical, policy implications for peoples with developmental disability.
