쿠사마 야요이의 작품 이미지를 응용한 부조적 패션 일러스트레이션 연구

Abstract

현대사회의 패션디자인은 획일화된 문명 속에서 자아표출도구로써, 개개인의 심리와 욕구 등을 반영하며 여러 사회문화에서 다양한 요소들을 끊임없이 적용하려는 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 추세를 바탕으로 패션 일러스트레이션 분야에서도 시각적 예술분야로까지 발전의 가능성을 확대해 가고 있다. 또한 패션 일러스트레이션 작품 역시 패션과 예술의 경계를 넘어 새로운 기법들을 요구받고 있으며 그 예술적 가치를 인정받고 있다. 패션 일러스트레이션은 개성 있는 순수예술 분야에서 작가와 작품의 교류를 통해 패션 디자인 분야에 순수예술을 접목시켜 다양한 패션 이미지에 반영하고 있다. 최근 순수예술 분야에서는 예술과 대중성을 동시에 지니고 있는 쿠사마 야요이의 작품이 주목 받고 있으며, 패션이미지의 상품들과 접목되어 우리에게 새로운 패러다임을 제시하고 있다. 또한 쿠사마 야요이의 작품들은 영화, 문학, 패션디자인 등 다양한 분야에 이르기까지 자유롭게 경계를 넘나들며 작품세계를 확장시켜 가고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 쿠사마 야요이의 2000년대 작품을 중심으로 독특하고 유니크한 조형적 특성을 응용하여 부조적 패션 일러스트레이션을 제작하고자 한다. 특히 기하학적인 원의 형태와 점, 자유곡선에 의한 반복적인 선, 높은 명도와 채도에 의한 강력한 색채대비에 의한 조형적 특성을 깊이감과 입체감을 강조한 부조적 기법으로 표현하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 패션 이미지를 시각적 예술로까지 영역으로 확대시키고, 이를 통해 현대적 감각의 패션 일러스트레이션에 다양한 표현 방법을 제시 하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법으로는 학위논문, 단행본, 문헌연구, 인터넷, 패션정보 ,전시 관람 등의 실증적 자료를 토대로 쿠사마 야요이의 작품세계와 부조적 입체기법에 관하여 고찰하고 분석 하였다. 이를 통해 2000년대 이후 작품 속 점, 선, 면, 색채에서 보여지는 독특하고 고유한 조형적 특성을 나누어 분석하고 쿠사마 야요이 작품을 응용한 현대 디자인 사례를 조사하였다. 또한 기법에 있어서 부조적 패션 일러스트레이션을 표현하고자 이론적으로 고찰하여 부조적 기법개념과 정의, 종류와 특징을 분석하여 부조적 기법을 응용한 패션 일러스트레이션 사례를 연구 하였다. 위와 같은 이론적 고찰을 통해 총 8점의 작품제작을 하였다. 작품제작 과정으로는 부조적 패션 일러스트레이션에 접목한 다양한 사례를 연구, 분석하여 작품제작을 하고자 컴퓨터 일러스트 프로그램(CS6)으로 사용하여 D.T.P출력 시트지로 아크릴판에 접착시켜 레이저 커팅으로 된 형태를 표면에 붙임으로써 부조적 입체감을 표현 할 수 있어서 다양한 재료의 가능성과 모티브 효과를 극대화 시키고자 하였다. 이론적 고찰과 작품 제작을 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 쿠사마 야요이의 작품에서 보여지는 독특하고 유니크한 상징적 모티브의 조형적 특성은 현대 패션디자인과 패션 일러스트레이션 분야에 응용함으로써, 다양하고 개성있는 차별화된 표현과 방법에 있어서 적합하였다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 단순화된 모델의 얼굴과 인체 실루엣 이미지는 쿠사마 야요이 작품의 조형성과 접목되어 현대적 감각인 패션 일러스트레이션으로서 표현이 가능하였다. 셋째, 쿠사마 야요이 작품의 색채는 면과 면 사이에 테두리가 없어 강한 색채 대비로도 형상 구분이 뚜렷하게 나타나 명쾌하고 간결한 이미지의 패션 일러스트레이션으로 표현 할 수 있었다. 넷째, 패션 일러스트레이션의 표현기법에 있어서 모티브 이미지를 D.T.P로 시트지에 출력하여 아크릴판에 접착한 후 레이어링 하여 레이저 커팅 기법을 사용하였다. 그 결과 평면의 단조로움을 탈피하고 깊이감과 입체적 부조감을 부여할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 쿠사마 야요이의 작품을 패션 일러스트레이션에 응용함에 있어 다양한 모티브 활용에 전환점을 얻을 수 있었고 D.T.P 출력 시트지로 아크릴판에 붙여 레이저 커팅으로써 부조적 입체감의 활용은 소재의 영역을 넓혀 예술에 있어서 다각적인 측면으로 적용이 가능함을 제시 할 수 있었다. 또한 패션 일러스트레이션의 분야에 있어서 새로운 소재와 부조적기법의 응용은 끊임없는 시도로 폭넓은 연구가 계속되기를 기대한다.;Modern lift the area of fashion is changing and becoming extended to culture, society, and various sectors over the period.
