음악교과와 타 교과 간 통합교육 실태분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to suggest a solution which helps to promote integrated curriculum between music education and other subjects by analyzing its present circumstances. A survey which inquires the present circumstances about integrated courses between music and other subjects was conducted to music teachers. The analysis was focused on teachers’ various recognition based on demographic data such as gender, middle school and high school, and so on so forth. 106 on-duty music teachers whose schools are in Incheon were the survey target and the data from 103 of them were analyzed. Prior to this, 5 people including scholars and music teachers from Department of Education in Incheon were pre-surveyed. The questionnaire includes two parts. One asks about the teacher’s general information including gender, whether he/she is a middle or high school teacher, private or public school, career as a teacher, and the teacher’s education level. The other asks them questions about the actual environment of integrated curriculum in the field. Statistical data was investigated by categorizing by general standards of the respondents. To achieve more meaningful data, the collected data has gone through cross analysis process and multiple choice types were processed via descriptive statistics by adopting χ²(Chi-square). Questions which use a 4-point Likert scale were t-tested and analyzed through one-way ANOVA. The findings are as follows: Music teachers tend to aware that integrated curriculum is generally necessary. On the other hand, lack of relevant programs, resources, and education system for teachers is the main reason integrated curriculum is not widely operated in the field. Teachers from private schools and high schools were less participated in relevant teaching program and thereby suffers from preparing the materials. When it comes to the integrated curriculums involving music and some other subjects, the number of other subjects was quite limited. Integrated area was also biased against listening only. Vague definition of the integrated curriculum and pessimistic expectation about students’ participation are the main point of issue. To resolve the issue, it is recommended that developing proper programs by integrated curriculum experts from a variety of subjects and areas as well as distributing them. Periodic training for new teachers and teachers from private schools should be actively supported. Also related terms should be well organized to avoid them from being equivocal. It is also required to improve interest of integrated curriculum along students.;본 연구의 목적은 음악교과와 타 교과 간 통합교육의 실태를 분석함으로써 음악교과와 타 교과와의 통합교육이 보다 더 활발히 운영될 수 있도록 발전방안을 모색하는 데에 있다. 이를 위하여 음악교사를 대상으로 음악교과와 타 교과 간 통합교육 실태에 대한 설문조사를 실시하고 성별, 학교 급 등 인구통계학적 데이터를 기준으로 인식의 차이가 있는지 분석하였다. 본 연구는 현재 인천지역에서 근무하고 있는 음악교사 106명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 총 103부를 최종으로 분석하였다. 본 설문은 실시하기에 앞서 인천동부교육청 소속 장학사 및 음악교사 5명을 선발하여 예비검사를 실시하였다. 연구의 도구로 사용된 설문지는 성별, 학교 급, 학교 설립유형, 교사 경력, 소지 학위 등 교사들의 일반적 특성을 묻는 문항과 교과 간 통합교육의 실태를 알 수 있는 문항으로 구성되었다. 자료 분석은 SPSS Statistics 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 교사의 성별, 학교 급별, 학교 설립유형별, 경력별, 학위별에 따라 내용별로 기술통계를 산출하여 해석하였다. 응답한 내용은 응답율의 차가 교사의 성별, 학교 급별, 학교 설립유형별, 경력별, 학위별로 유의미한 지를 밝히기 위하여 교차분석을 실시하고 카이검증(χ²)적용하여 분석하였으며 다중응답문항은 다중응답 교차분석을 실시하였다. 또한 리커트식 4단계 척도를 사용한 문항에서는 t-검증과 일원변량분석(One-Way ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 음악교사들이 음악과 타 교과 간 통합교육의 필요성에 대한 인식은 높게 나타난 반면 프로그램과 지도 자료의 부족, 교사 교육의 부재 등의 이유를 통해 실제 교육현장에서 음악과 타 교과 간 통합교육 지도는 활발히 운영되지 않고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 사립학교의 교사와 고등학교 교사의 경우 더욱 통합교육과 관련된 교사 교육에 참여한 경험이 적었으며 지도 자료의 확보에도 더욱 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 음악교과와 타 교과 간 통합교육 시 특정 교과 위주의 통합이 이루어지고 있었으며 통합 영역 역시 감상영역에만 치중되어 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 더불어 다소 포괄적인 의미를 포함하는 언어로 명확한 의미전달에 어려움이 있다는 점과 통합교육에 대한 학생들의 관심도가 낮을 것이라고 예상 하는 등의 문제점이 드러났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 음악교과와 타 교과 간 통합교육 활성화를 위해서는 통합교육 관련 전문가를 중심으로 보다 다양한 과목과 영역에서 접근하는 통합교육 프로그램과 자료를 개발하며, 개발된 지도 자료를 공유할 수 있는 방법 마련의 필요성이 제기되었다. 더불어 경력이 많지 않은 초임교사와 사립학교의 교사를 중심으로 주기적인 교사 연수가 이루어질 수 있도록 지원해야 함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 명확한 의미전달을 위해 교과 간 통합교육에 대한 용어의 정리가 이루어지며, 음악과 타 교과 간 통합교육에 대한 학생들의 관심을 높일 수 있는 방법이 연구되어지기를 기대한다.
