스마트러닝을 활용한 한국어 말하기 학습용 애플리케이션 구성 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 이미 존재하는 수많은 교수자료들을 학습자의 요구에 맞게 재사용하기 위해 기존 교수자료를 하나의 콘텐츠로 보고 스마트러닝 콘텐츠로 변환하는 것이다. 그리고 면대면 수업 상황에서 기존교재가 지닌 말하기 교육∙학습을 위한 교실 내 환경의 한계를 보완하기 위해 스마트러닝을 적용하여 이를 보조해 줄 수 있고 학습자의 말하기 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 모바일 애플리케이션을 구현하는 데에 연구의 목적이 있다. 제 2언어로서 외국어를 학습하는 학습자들의 궁극적인 목적은 학습한 언어로 어려움 없이 의사소통하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 시중에 여러 교재가 이미 시판되어 있으며 한국어 교육 관련 교재 또한 다양하게 나와 있다. 다양한 교재와 정보기술의 발달에도 불구하고 한국어교육은 이러한 환경을 충분히 활용하지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제는 다음으로부터 기인하는 것으로 보인다. 첫 째, 말하기 능력 향상을 위한 한국어 교재와 전문 교수자료의 종류가 다양해지고 있음에도 불구하고 교사간의 교류 부족으로 인해 자료의 부족함을 토로하며 새로운 교재 개발로만 해결할 뿐 제대로 활용되지 못하고 있다. 둘 째, 현재 시판되고 있는 애플리케이션은 영어 위주로 개발되어 있으며 한국어 교육∙학습 애플리케이션의 개발은 미비한 상태이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 한국어 말하기 학습용 애플리케이션을 제안하고자 한다. 이는 기존 한국어 말하기 교재의 재사용성을 높이는 방안을 스마트러닝에 적용하고, 교실 내의 면대면 수업 환경의 한계를 보완하여 학습자의 말하기 능력을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 본다. 선행연구 자료를 검토하여 스마트러닝에 관련된 연구들을 살피고 스마트러닝의 개념과 특징, 의사소통중심 교수법 그리고 교재의 재사용성에 대한 개념을 알아보았다. 또한 한국어 말하기 학습용 애플리케이션을 구현하기 위해 애플리케이션의 유형과 시장의 현황을 분석하고 이를 기반으로 한국어 학습용 애플리케이션을 분석하였다. 먼저 한국어 교육 애플리케이션을 부교재 혹은 보조수단으로 설정하여 학습목표와 학습내용, 평가의 단계에 따라 분석하였다. 이를 기반으로 한국어 학습용 애플리케이션 분석과 설계를 한 후 의사소통 향상을 위한 한국어 말하기 학습용 애플리케이션 구현 화면 예시를 통해 교육적 효율성을 검토하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 성과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어 말하기 학습을 위한 스마트러닝을 제안하였다. 전 세계적으로 널리 보급된 스마트 기기와 정보통신 기술의 발달로 인한 변화가 한국어 교육에도 영향을 미치고 있으며 변화를 통해 다양한 인프라를 활용한 언어 학습이 가능함을 보였다. 둘째, 한국어 말하기 학습용 애플리케이션을 개발하기 위해 새로운 자료를 개발하는 수고로움과 비효율적인 방법을 배제시키고, 기존 교수자료를 하나의 콘텐츠로 보고 스마트러닝 콘텐츠로 변환하는 것에 주목하였다. 셋째, 입∙출력 활동이 가능한 기능을 구현하여 기존 교수자료를 기반으로 하여 종이로 된 교재에는 없었던 기술적인 측면을 활용하여 음성인식 기능과 역할극 기능을 통해 학습이 가능하도록 하였다. 이 기능을 사용하여 학습자가 말하기 학습을 혼자서도 능동적으로 가능하게 하여 의사소통능력 향상을 위한 실현 가능한 애플리케이션을 설계하였다. 추후 보완되어야 할 사항들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본고에서 구현한 예시는 ‘서강 한국어’의 한 부분만을 응용한 설계에 불과한 만큼 지속적인 연구와 개발을 통해 다양한 교재의 대화영역이 연결되어 재사용 학습할 수 있도록 개발∙보완되어야 한다. 둘째, 기술적인 측면을 접목시켜 좀 더 다양하게 교재를 응용 할 수 있는 방안과 콘텐츠 유형을 개발해야 한다. 증강현실이나 가상현실을 이용한 다양한 애플리케이션이 시판되어 있는 만큼 교육적 차원에서 연구되어 학습의 효율을 높일 수 있는 방안 마련이 시급하다. 셋째, 실제 학습자를 대상으로 애플리케이션 사용에 대한 타당성을 검증하는 과정을 거치지 못해 학습 효과를 검토하지 못하고 구현에 그쳤다. 이러한 제한점들을 보완하여 후에 이러한 주제에 대한 애플리케이션 개발을 할 연구자들이 보다 발전 된 연구∙개발해야 할 것이다.;The purpose of the study is to convert many existing teaching materials into smart learning contents to reuse according to needs of learners. And, in order to supplement the classroom environment for speaking education in face-to-face teaching situations, smart learning will be applied and mobile application implemented to improve speaking skills of learners. The ultimate goal of learners who study who study a second language is to be able to communicate in that language without difficulty. To achieve such goal, there are many textbooks available in the market, and many books on Korean languate education have been published as well. Despite development of various textbooks and information technology, Korean language education did not fully use such environment. This problem seems to arise due to the following reasons : First, despite increasing diversity of Korean language textbooks and teaching materials, to improve speaking skills, teachers are still complaining about lack of materials due to insufficient exchange and only try to develop new text books without using existing ones. Second, applications that are available in the market currently are focused on English, and there are not many Korean learning applications that are available at the monet. For that reason, in this study, and application for learning Korean speaking skills was proposed. This can help improve learners' speaking skills by applying a way to improving face-to-face classroom environment. Previous research on smart learning was reviewed to examine the concept and characteristics of smart learning, communication-oriented teaching method, and reusability of existing Korean speaking textbooks to smart learning and improving face-to-face classroom environment. Also, to implement an application for learning Korean speaking skills, types and market status of applications was analyzed and Korean learning applications were analyzed based on the result. First, applications for Korean language education were set as a supplementary textbook or tool before analyzing them according to learning goal, content and evaluation level. Based on the result, analysis and design of Korean language applications was performed and educational efficiency was reviewed based of the examples of Korean speaking applications to improve communication skills. This study led to the following results: First, smart learning for Korean speaking skills was proposed. the worldwide change with smart devices and IT development has also influenced Korean language education, and various tools can be used for learning languages. Second, the study focused on converting existing teaching materials into a smart learning content, by excluding the work and inefficiency involved with developing a new material for the application. Third, the application used input and output activities that did not exist in paper textbooks to enable vice recognition and role-play function. By using this function, learners can learn speaking skills on their own to improve communication skills. The following will need to be improved in the future: First, the example used in this study was only based on a part of 'Seogang Korean', and continuous research and development will be needed to support reusing various textbooks. Second, technological aspects need to be incorporated to use the textbooks in more diverse ways and develop content types, As applications based on augmented or virtual reality are available, it is urgent to develop a way to improve learning efficiency. Third, the study did not test feasibility of the application with actual learners. Further research will need to supplement these limitations to develop relevant applications.
