골프 중계방송 시청저하에 미치는 요인 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the unsatisfying factors for the decline in rating of the golf relay broadcasting, helping understand the problems of the TV golf relay broadcast, and improve it. To achieve the purpose of this study, 300 viewers aged from 20 to 60 years who are living in Seoul and Kyunggi-do were sampled for this study. 281 of total 300 subjects were utilized for data analysis. In this study, the frequency analysis was used for a demographic characterization of the subjects. Primary statistical methodology for data analysis were principle component analysis, one-way ANOVA, and regression analysis. The results of this study were as following; First, it was shown that the golf career among individual characteristics was significantly influenced to the unsatisfying factor. Specifically, the people having the one year plus of experience in golf were the most unsatisfied with the gold relay broadcasting, but the others having less than one year of experience were less unsatisfied with it. Overall, the more they had the golf career, the more they were unsatisfied. That is because they had the broad perspective and keen insight into the golf relay broadcasting after they had more golf career and increased interest and experience. Second, the preferred time for watching was significantly influenced into the information acquisition and programming among the unsatisfying factors. Especially, the people who had the preferred time between 4 to 7 am, were the most unsatisfied with the gold relay broadcasting. Based on that, the broadcaster will lead the effort to add the contents diversely and have the ability of specialized programing. Third, among the image of broadcasters, the novelty and reliability of SBS Golf and the novelty of J Golf were significantly influenced into the unsatisfying factor. Generally, it was concluded that the images of broadcasters have a large impact on the satisfaction of watching. It is shown that the broadcasters can attract their attention and improve viewers satisfaction by means of the new and reliable planning ability. Forth, the images of four commentators were significantly influenced into the unsatisfying factor. In other words, the representative commentators of SBS Golf and J Golf, Hyungjoong Won, Duckho Ko, Byungwook Lee, and Kyungbin Lim, had the direct impact on the satisfaction. Therefore, in order to improve the satisfaction, the commentators should make an effort to cultivate professionalism and capacity of commentary Finally, it was considered that the opinion of viewers give the direction for the golf relay broadcasting. First, they should provide a variety of information about professional golfers, such as training method, and episode. Second, the commentators try their best to have the ability of commentary and expertise. They need to consider how they give the information about the golf relay broadcasting from the viewer point of view. Third, the broadcaster should diversify and differentiate their program related to the golf relay broadcasting. Irrespective of the channels, they included the similar programs in a similar ways. They should develop the new programs and provide various program at the levels of viewers to attract their attention. Based on this study, it is necessary that the scope of viewers which was limited to Seoul and Kyunggi-do, will be broaden to the whole nation. The follow-up study will be done from the view of broadcaster after adding the objective investigation. Also, the study on the training of commentators will be dealt with the follow-up study. It is desirable for this follow-up study to provide the academic information to commentators, viewers, and golfers.;본 연구의 목적은 골프 중계방송 시청저하에 미치는 요인에 대해 분석하여 TV 골프 중계방송의 문제점을 알고, 개선을 돕기 위해 진행되었다. 본 연구의 연구 대상은 300명의 서울 및 경기도에 소재하는 20세 이상 70세 미만의 골프 중계방송 시청자들로 선정하였으며, 설문을 실시한 총 300부 중 결측치를 제외한 281 부만을 결과 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 조사 대상자의 인구통계학적 특성을 알아보기 위해 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 결과 분석을 위해서 주성분분석, 일원분산분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 골프 중계방송 시청저하에 미치는 요인에 대해 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개인적 특성 중에서는 골프 경력만이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로는 1년 이상의 골프 경력을 가진 사람들의 시청 불만족도가 가장 높았으며 1년 미만의 골프 경력을 가진 사람들의 불만족도가 가장 낮았다. 전반적인 추이를 볼 때 골프 경력이 높아질수록 골프 중계방송에 대한 불만족도 역시 높아지게 된다는 결론을 알 수 있다. 이는 골프 경력이 높아질수록 골프에 대한 관심이 높아지게 되고 실력이 향상됨에 따라 골프 중계방송을 보는 시각이 다양해지고 예리해지기 때문으로 분석된다. 둘째, 시청 선호 시간의 경우 시청 불만족 요인 중 정보 습득과 진행에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 새벽 4시에서 7시 사이의 시간을 선호하는 시청자의 경우 다른 시간에 비해 큰 불만족을 표시하였다. 이를 토대로 보았을 때 각 골프채널에서는 새벽시간대 방송에 좀 더 다양한 내용을 추가하며 전문화 된 진행 능력을 갖출 수 있게 노력해야 한다. 셋째, 방송사 이미지의 경우 SBS골프의 참신성과 신뢰성, J골프의 신뢰성이 시청 불만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 봤을 때, 방송사의 이미지가 시청 불만족에 큰 영향을 미친다는 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 각 매체는 신뢰성 있고 참신한 기획력을 통해 시청자들의 만족도를 높이고 나아가 골프에 대한 관심 증가를 유도할 것이라고 보여 진다. 넷째, 네 명의 해설위원의 이미지는 모두 시청 불만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다시 말해 각 채널의 대표 해설 위원인 A, B, C, D 해설위원의 경우 이들의 이미지가 시청자들의 만족도에 직접적인 영향을 줄 수 있다고 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 시청자들의 만족도를 높이기 위해서는 각 해설위원들은 이미지와 직결되는 전문성과 해설능력을 배양할 수 있게 노력해야 한다. 마지막으로 골프 중계방송이 나아갈 방향은 시청자들의 의견으로부터 생각해 볼 수 있다. 먼저 골프 중계방송은 선수들의 정보나 훈련방법, 에피소드 소개 등 선수에 관련된 다양한 정보를 제공할 수 있게 노력해야 한다. 두 번째로 골프 중계방송 해설자의 전문지식 배양과 진행방법의 고찰을 들 수 있다. 각 채널의 해설위원들은 전문가의 시각이 아닌 시청자의 시각에서 정보를 어떻게 전달할지를 고찰할 필요가 있다. 세 번째로 골프 중계방송과 관련된 프로그램을 다양화하고 차별화 시켜야 할 것이다. 현재 방송되고 있는 프로그램은 채널에 관계없이 비슷한 내용을 비슷하게 다루고 있는 경우가 많다. 새로운 프로그램을 개발하고 시청자들의 눈높이에 맞는 다양한 프로그램을 선보인다면 시청자들의 주목을 더 끌 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 골프 중계방송 자체를 평가하기보다는 골프채널 시청자들의 설문을 통하여 골프 중계방송에 대한 시청자들의 불만족을 알아보는 것을 중점으로 연구가 진행되었기 때문에 주관적인 결과가 강하게 반영될 수 있으므로 그에 따른 후속연구에 대한 제안은 방송을 보고 느끼는 시청자의 입장을 분석하기에는 적합한 연구이므로 추후에 서울, 경기에 제한되었던 연구대상자의 폭을 전국으로 넓히고, 또한 방송사의 시각에 대한 연구를 진행하는 것도 의미가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 또한, 본 연구는 골프 중계방송의 해설자에 대한 영향이 시청자에게 실제로 영향을 주었고, 불만족 요인을 가지고 있는 것을 규명하였다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있고, 이와 관련된 후속 연구로 골프 중계방송 해설자의 교육에 대한 필요성이 대두되는 바, 해설자의 양성 및 기존 해설자의 재교육에 대한 연구의 필요성이 나타났다. 이에 관련한 연구는 골프 중계방송의 해설자 및 시청자, 즉, 골프선수 및 골프동호인에게 다양한 학문적 결과들을 제공해 줄 수 있는 측면에서 바람직한 후속연구 방법이 될 것으로 기대된다.
