데이터 마이닝 기법을 이용한 특성화고등학교 교육성과 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 초·중등 교육정보 공시를 통하여 전국 특성화고등학교의 학교단위별 자료(2012년도)인 학교현황, 교육활동, 학생현황, 교원현황, 재정현황을 파악한 후 데이터 마이닝 기법을 활용해 교육성과에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 여기서 특성화고등학교의 교육성과를 판단하는 지표는 취업률, 진학률, 기능경기대회 입상성적으로 정했다. 첫 번째 연구문제는 학교의 일반적 특성에 따라 교육성과에 유의한 차이가 있는지를 파악하는 것이다. 두 번째 연구문제는 교육성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구 분석을 위한 도구는 SPSS statistics 18 과 WEKA 3.6 , SPSS modeler 15를 사용하였다. 각 연구문제에 적합한 알고리즘을 적용하고 분석도구별 도출된 결과 비교를 통해 공통적 요인을 탐색하여 특성화고등학교의 긍정적인 교육성과를 위해 유의한 지식을 찾아냈다. 먼저 특성화고등학교의 일반적 특성에 따라 교육성과에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는지에 대한 분석 결과, 취업률은 여학교와 사립 형태의 학교에서 유의한 차이를 보이며 높은 성과를 나타냈다. 진학률은 사립 형태의 학교에서 유의한 차이를 보이며 높은 성과를 나타났다. 마지막으로 기능경기대회 입상성적은 광역시 지역, 공업계열, 공립, 남학교의 형태에서 유의한 차이를 보이며 높은 성과를 나타냈다. 다음으로 교육성과에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 탐색한 결과, 취업률에는 ‘수준별 수업’과 ‘1학년 공통과정’이 영향력 있는 변인들로 탐색되었다. 또한 진학률에서는 ‘1학년 공통과정’과 ‘전문교과교원 비율’이 가장 영향력 있는 변인이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 기능경기대회 입상성적에 가장 영향력 있는 요인들은 ‘전교생 수’(학교 규모), ‘전문교과교원 비율’, ‘여교원 비율’로 발견되었다. 이와 같이 데이터 마이닝을 활용해 도출된 결과는 현재 특성화고등학교 학교단위별 교육성과에 대한 연구에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 더불어 추후 특성화고등학교의 발전 및 개선 방향을 추진하는데 긍정적인 참고 자료로 활용될 수 있겠다.;This study reviewed the all specialized vocational high school across the nation, their educational activities, their current states of possessing students and teachers, and their current finance state through the data per school in the Elementary, Middle & High Schools information system(2012), and carried out an analysis on the specialized vocational high school’s educational outcomes in using the data mining technique. Here, the educational outcomes of specialized vocational high schools were defined as the employment rate, the university entrance rate, the aware records in various vocational techniques contests. As the first research question, this study investigate whether there was any significant differences in educational outcomes depending on school's general characteristics. And as the second research question, this study explored the factors influencing on educational outcome. For statistically analyzing the data, this study used the SPSS statistics 18 and the WEKA 3.6, and the SPSS modeler 15. First of all, as the result from analyzing the data in order to find out any significant differences in educational outcomes depending on specialized vocational high school’s general characteristics, it was found that the employment generated some significant differences in the school types of women high schools and private high schools. The university entrance rate showed significant differences, showing that the type of private high school showed higher outcomes. Finally, in terms of the award record in vocational techniques contests, the school type located in metropolitan cities, the technical high school type and the men high school type generated some significant differences, showing higher outcomes. Next, as the result from exploring the influential factors on educational outcomes, it was found that the influential variables in terms of employment rate were the level class, the freshman's common curriculum. Additionally, this study could identify that the most influential variables in the university entrance rate were the freshman's common curriculum and the ratio of profession subjects teachers. Finally, the most influential factors on the award records in vocational techniques contests were appeared as the number of total students in a school (school size), the ratio of professional subjects teachers, the ratio of female teachers. The results drawn out in utilizing the data mining technique like that will help researches about the educational outcomes of specialized vocational high schools by school unit. Besides, the results will be utilized as some positive reference data in promoting the development and improvement direction of specialized vocational high schools in future.
