Minimum weights and self-duality of cyclic codes over a finite ring Rk

Abstract

Dougherty et al. classify one-generator cyclic codes over the ring R_k and give the upper bound of their minimum Lee weights. They also characterize self-dual codes over R_k of length 1 or 2. We find an upper bound of minimum Lee weights of one-generator cyclic codes over R_k, which completes the missing case of the previous work by Dougherty et al., and provide an improvement in some cases. We find some instances that our bound meets the actual minimum Lee weights of some one-generator cyclic codes. Also, we classify one-generator self-dual cyclic codes of length 3 over R_2, and study such codes over R_k as well. We find some sufficient conditions for one-generator cyclic codes over R_k to be self-dual, where k is a positive integer. Furthermore, in the case of length 3, we find some necessary conditions for one-generator cyclic codes over R_k to be self-dual, where k is a positive integer greater than 2.;R_k라는 환 위에서의 단일 생성원 순환 코드의 최소 Lee 무게의 상한과 코드의 길이가 1 또는 2인 자기 쌍대 코드의 특성화는 선행 연구자들에 의해 연구되었다. 본 논문에서는 단일 생성원 순환 코드의 최소 Lee 무게 상한을 향상시켜 선행 연구자들의 연구에서 얻어진 상한으로 값을 얻을 수 없는 경우를 보완하였고, 더 나아가 값을 얻을 수 있는 경우라도 본 논문의 상한이 더 좋은 결과를 보이는 예제들을 수록하였다. 더욱이 본 논문에서 제시된 상한이 실제로 관측하여야 하는 최소 Lee 무게를 만족시키는 경우를 예제를 통해 제시하였다. 또한, 환 R_2위에서의 코드길이 3을 가진 단일 생성원 자기 쌍대 순환 코드를 모두 분류하였고, k라는 임의의 양의 정수에 대하여 환 R_k 위에서 단일 생성원 순환 코드가 자기 쌍대성을 갖기 위한 충분조건을 제안하였다. 특히 3보다 큰 양의 정수 k에 대하여는, 환 R_k 위에서의 코드 길이 3를 가진 단일 생성원 순환 코드에 대해서는 자기 쌍대성을 갖기 위한 필요 조건 또한 제시하였다.
