불임여성을 위한 여성주의 애도 목회상담 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 한국 불임여성의 경험을 상실의 관점에서 이해하고 이들을 위한 애도 목회상담의 이론과 실제를 제시하였다. 한국 사회는 급증하는 불임 인구와 유례없는 출산율 저하의 문제로 불임에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있으나 불임여성을 위한 상담은 불임시술에 관련한 정보전달에 치중되어 있거나 서구의 심리사회적 프로그램을 도입해서 실시하는 정도에 머무르고 있는 실정이다. 불임은 여성의 몸과 관련된 신체적인 문제뿐만 아니라 우울이나 불안과 같은 심리적 상실의 문제 그리고 삶의 의미와 신에 대한 이미지 변형을 가져오는 다차원적인 영역의 위기와 상실의 경험이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 불임여성의 경험을 상실로 전제하고 이를 사회문화적·목회신학적·심리학적 측면에서 이해하고, 상실의 아픔을 치유하기 위한 애도 목회상담을 재구성하기 위해 상실과 애도에 대한 심층적 이해를 시도하였다. 1장에서는 본 논문의 동기와 목적을 서술하고 그동안의 선행연구를 비판적 고찰을 통해 분석하고 문제제기를 통해 연구의 필요성을 제시하였다. 그리고 연구방법과 연구에 대한 전체적인 개관을 서술하였다. 2장에서는 한국 불임 문제와 정책적 배경의 이론적 고찰을 통해 불임문제의 사회문화적 배경과 불임여성들의 삶의 자리에 대해 고찰하였다. 그리고 그동안 침묵되었던 불임여성들의 목소리를 살리고자 직접면담을 시도하였고 사례분석을 통해 이들의 경험을 분석하였다. 3장에서는 한국 불임여성의 경험을 상실이라는 관점에서 접근하여 사회문화적, 목회신학적, 심리학적 이해를 시도하였다. 사회문화적 관점에서는 가부장적, 혈연중심 사회의 문화구조에서 불임을 겪고 있는 한국 여성의 경험의 특수성에 초점을 맞추고 불임 경험을 모성상실로서 이해하였다. 목회신학적 관점에서는 불임이 하나님의 계획 및 섭리의 공간 상실과 하나님 축복의 상실의 의미로 이해되었던 성서의 이해를 살펴보기 위해 성서 시대의 여성의 삶과 불임에 대한 이해를 살펴보는 것과 동시에 불임시술에 대한 기독교의 논의에 대한 신학적 고찰을 시도하였다. 그리고 재생산에 대한 성서의 가부장적인 목소리를 해체하고 성서의 본래적인 의미를 해석하고자 하였다. 심리학적 관점에서는 불임여성들의 심리적 고충과 아픔을 탐색하면서, 불임경험을 자기 상실의 한으로서 이해하였다. 4장에서는 불임여성 경험에 나타난 구체적 상실경험을 살펴보고 이로 인한 자아의 고통에 대한 이론적 고찰과 더불어 상실의 근원과 유형에 대한 정신분석학적 연구를 시도했다. 그리고 상실의 슬픔을 치유할 수 있는 자원을 애도로 규정하고 상실과 애도에 대한 정신분석학적 이해를 살펴보았다. 5장에서는 여성주의 관점에서 애도를 통한 불임의 상실 돌봄의 방법론을 제시하였다. 불임여성의 애도를 위한 목회적 상담은 캐리 도링의 세 단계의 돌봄 방법과 상실과 애도에 대한 이론적 개념과 중요성을 언급한 정신분석학적 자원을 재구성하여 불임여성을 위한 애도목회상담 방법론을 구성하였다. 6장 결론에서는 그동안의 연구를 정리하고 연구의 의의와 한계에 대해 정리한 후 추후 과제에서 수행되어야 할 연구과제에 대해 제언하였다. 불임은 인류역사에서 오랫동안 여성에게 요구되어져온 모성과 재생산의 어려움을 의미하는 것이므로 불임으로 인한 상실의 아픔은 더 클 수밖에 없다. 불임여성들이 자신의 아픔을 이야기하고 여성들과 함께 연대하여 애도하는 과정을 경험할 때 지금 여기에 자신의 삶에 주어진 좋은 것들을 인식하며 새로운 삶으로 전환할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 전환적 경험은 불임여성들로 하여금 주체적인 자아를 가지게 할 뿐 아니라 모성적 보살핌의 체험을 사회적 보살핌을 위한 차원으로 확장시켜 나갈 수 있도록 힘을 줄 것이다.;The purpose of this study is to understand the experience of loss of infertile women from a perspective of loss and to propose a theory and practice of loss and mourning through pastoral counseling of mourning. It is true that psychological counseling has not been offered, but due to the rapid growth of the infertile population and unprecedented drop in birth rates in Korean society, interest in infertility counseling has increased. Most studies have analyzed and described infertile women as passive objects excluding their real stories and voices. There has been no concrete research on understanding infertile women in spite of a variety of their experiences. This study raises the voice of infertile women keeping silent by interviewing them in person, by understanding their various experiences from a feminist perspective, by analyzing their experiences from a perspective of loss, and by undertaking psychoanalytical research on loss and mourning. The study also attempted to propose a methodology of pastoral counseling of mourning through rich resources in the area of pastoral counseling and psychoanalysis. Chapter 1 described the motive and purpose of this paper, made an analysis through critical review of precedent studies and proposed the need of this study by raising questions of research methods and research in itself was provided. Chapter 2 examined the sociocultural backgrounds of infertility problems and the situations of sterile women in their lives through theoretical study of the infertility problems in Korean society and political backgrounds. In-person interviews were made with infertile women who kept silent in order to reveal their true voices and analyze their experiences through case analysis. Chapter 3 attempted a sociocultural, pastoral theological, and psychological understanding by approaching the experience of Korean infertile women from a perspective of loss. The sociocultural perspective understood the infertility experience as maternity loss, the perspective of pastoral counseling understood infertility as loss of God’s plan, loss of space of divine providence and loss of God's blessing, and the psychological perspective understood the infertility experience as a lamentation arising from loss of self-examining the infertile women's psychological distress and pain. Chapter 4 defined resources to heal grief of loss as condolences and investigated psychoanalytic understandings of loss and condolences. Chapter 5 proposed a methodology of loss caring of infertility through mourning. For pastoral counseling for infertile women's mourning, a methodology was constructed for pastoral counseling of mourning for them by reconstructing Carrie Doehring's caring methods of three stages and psychoanalytical resources of addressing the theoretical concepts and significance of loss and mourning. A pastoral counseling of mourning for infertile women should be based on their true experiences. As their key experiences are defined as loss that they come to have in the patriarchal social system, it's necessary to understand the concrete experience of loss they go through from a feminist perspective. Since infertility refers to difficulties of motherhood and reproduction which have been required of women for a long time in human history, the type and pain of loss arising from infertility can be more serious than anything else. Infertile women need to be provided care with which they can tell their painful stories and go towards a new way to transform their lives in solidarity with other women. Feminist pastoral counseling of mourning suggests that their stories must not be ignored and their life experiences can be reconstructed newly through a process by telling and mourning their stories for themselves. It will allow for their transformative experience by growth and maturity through loss.
