중학교 음악교과와 역사교과의 통합수업 지도방안 연구

Abstract

음악은 시대의 주요한 역사적 현상을 담아내고 있기 때문에 음악을 이해하려면 한 시대의 역사를 함께 알아야만 한다. 다시 말해서 국악은 우리나라의 정치‧경제‧사회‧문화와 긴밀하게 연관되어있으므로 우리음악에 대한 총체적이며 수평적인 이해를 위해서는 역사와 함께 맞물려 생각해 보아야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 음악교과와 역사교과를 통합한 창의적인 수업지도안을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 먼저 개발하게 될 지도안의 통합유형‧통합모형을 설정하기 위해 통합교육의 이론에 대해 고찰하면서 인그램(Ingram)의 기여형 통합유형과 포가티(Fogarrty)의 계열형 통합모형을 선정하게 되었다. 그리고 음악교육 관점에서 통합교육이 어떻게 이루어질 수 있는지 모색한 뒤, 선행연구를 검토를 통해 지도안의 구성과 방향에 대해 탐색하였다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 2009 개정 교육과정에 따라 중학생을 대상으로 한 상고시대부터 고려시대까지의 국악사를 4차시에 걸쳐 지도안을 개발하였다. 통합 수업을 위한 학습주제 및 학습내용의 선정을 위해 2009 개정 교육과정에 따라 새롭게 출판된 중학교 음악과 역사교과서를 분석하였고, 그 결과 두 교과에서 공통적으로 등장하는 사건을 중심으로 학습주제를 선택하고, 학습 주제에 따라 가장 주목할 만한 음악적 특징과 역사적 배경을 학습내용으로 선택하였다. 그리고 선정된 학습주제 및 학습내용을 분석하면서 학생들의 수업내용의 이해를 돕기 위한 적합한 자료를 수집하게 되어 보다 흥미롭고 다채로운 4차시의 수업지도안이 개발될 수 있었다. 이러한 연구의 결과물은 1차시는 상고시대부터 삼국시대 중 고구려의 음악을, 2차시는 삼국시대 중 백제와 신라의 음악을, 3차시는 통일신라시대 음악을, 4차시는 고려시대 음악으로 연계되어 구성되어 있고, 여기에 각 차시마다 PPT를 만들고 모둠학습지와 개별학습지를 구성하였다. 완성된 지도안의 내용타당도 검증을 위해 전문가 4인의 수업지도안 평가뿐만 아니라 실제 수업 현장에도 적용하여 수업에 참여한 24인의 학생들에게도 수업만족도 평가를 실시하도록 하였다. 그 결과 리커트(Likert) 척도의 5점 만점으로 한 전문가의 조사 결과는 평균 4.72를 나타내었고, 학생의 조사 결과는 평균 4.29를 나타내어 두 결과의 총 평균이 4.50으로 높은 평가를 얻었다. 그리고 두 결과 모두 1차시에 비해 2차시가 낮게 측정되었으나 다시 3차시에서 점차 상승하여 4차시에서 가장 높은 평점을 받은 점을 볼 때 실제 교육 현장에서도 적용이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 음악과 역사교과의 통합지도안을 개발함으로써 학생들에게 역사와 함께 발전해 온 우리음악의 발자취를 학습하게 하여 국악 전반에 대한 총체적인 이해와 수평적인 사고를 도모하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 역동적이면서도 현장감 있는 수업이 가능해지고 이를 통해 폭 넓은 시대적 이해와 안목을 가지게 하여 음악문화를 통해 올바른 역사관을 배울 수 있다는 데에 의의가 있다.;Music contains important historical phenomena. Thus, in order for one to understand the music of an era, one must also know the history of the era. In other words, classical Korean music is intimately related to Korea’s politics, economics, society, and culture, so to have a total and horizontal understanding, one must relate to history. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop a creative teaching plan that integrated music and history curriculums. First of all, Ingram’s contribution style integrative type and Fogarrty’s series style integrative model were selected while investigating theories for integrative education in order to establish the integrative type and model of the instruction plan to be developed. Next, I looked for ways to apply integrative education from the perspective of musical education, and then searched for the composition and direction of the curriculum by looking into prior studies. Based on this background, this study attempted to provide a 4 course teaching curriculum for Korean classical music history, ranging from the ancient period to Koryo period, for middle school students according to the 2009 revised national curriculum. In order to select the education topic and contents for the integrative lessons, music and history textbooks that were newly published according to the 2009 revised national curriculum were analyzed. As a result, education topics were selected focused on events appearing in both subjects, and the most noticeable musical features and historical backgrounds related to the subjects were selected as education contents. Afterwards, by obtaining suitable material, that will help students better understand the lessons, while analyzing the selected education topic and contents, an interesting and variegated 4 course teaching plan was developed. The result of this study is constructed of 4 integrated courses. The first course includes music from the ancient period to Koguryŏ during the Three Kingdoms period, the second course deals with music of Baekje and Silla during the Three Kingdoms period, the third course involves music from the unified Silla period, and the fourth course teaches music from the Koryo period. In each course, presentation, group, and individual materials were organized. For the verification of content validity, not only the evaluation of 4 professionals, but also class evaluations from the students who have attended the classes were used. The evaluation results from the professionals scored an average of 4.71 out of the 5-point Likert scale, and the average of the students’ evaluations was 4.29. The combined average was 4.50, which is a high score. Moreover, considering that both evaluation scores dropped between the first and second courses, but rose for the third and scored highest in the forth course, it was possible to verify that it could be applied to the actual education field. Through the development of an integrative teaching plan for music and history curriculums, I attempted to give students a total understanding and horizontal thinking of Korean classical music by teaching them the footsteps or our music which has developed through history. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it makes dynamic and realistic classes possible where students can obtain a broad historical understanding and sight, and learn a proper view of history through music.
