아츠 프로펠(Arts PROPEL)을 적용한 중학교 1학년 국악감상 지도안 개발

Abstract

현대 사회는 창의적이며, 자주적인 사고와 문화적 소양을 지닌 인재를 요구한다. 하지만 현재 학교에서 이루어지는 교육은 대학 입시 위주의 주입식, 암기식 교육으로 진행되고 있는 실정이다. 마찬가지로 음악교과 역시 이론위주의 수업을 중심으로 학습되고 있는데, 음악 교육은 특성상 예술성과 창의력이 중요시된다. 이러한 점을 중점으로 음악교과의 교수법을 활용한 국악 감상지도안을 개발하는 것이 본 논문의 취지이다. 본 지도안은 하워드 가드너(H. Gardner)가 개발한 교수법인 아츠 프로펠(Arts PROPEL)을 적용하였다. 이에 본 연구에서 필자는 국악감상 수업에 아츠 프로펠을 적용하여 총 4차시로 구성된 지도안을 개발하였다. 이전에 비해 국악교육 비중이 증가하였지만 여전히 국악의 비중은 낮은 편이다. 학생들은 국악을 배우며 음악을 통해 우리 문화를 이해할 수 있고, 문화에 대한 이해는 자국민으로서 올바른 가치관을 심어줄 수 있기 때문에 올바른 국악 학습이 필요하다. 본 지도안의 제재곡은 2009 개정 중학교 음악교과서 17종에서 최다로 수록된 곡과 동시에 역사적으로 의미가 있는 수제천과 대취타를 선정하였다. 이론적 배경에서는 아츠 프로펠에 대한 개념, 아츠 프로펠의 2가지 교육도구, 아츠 프로펠을 활용한 음악 교수 · 학습, 2009 개정 음악 교육과정과 아츠 프로펠의 적용점 및 감상 수업에 대해 고찰하였다. 또한 본 논문의 지도안 제재곡 선정 이유 및 제재곡인 수제천과 대취타에 대한 내용도 포함하였다. 연구의 내용은 아츠 프로펠을 적용한 국악 감상 제재곡 두곡을 선정하여 각각 2차시로 구성하여 작성하였고, 각 차시마다 아츠 프로펠 이론에 근거한 포트폴리오(Portfolio)를 직접 구상하였다. 지도안은 전반적으로 학습자가 쉽고 흥미롭게 국악을 감상하고 이해할 수 있도록 설계하였고, 다양한 방법으로 감상을 시도하였다. 또한 본 연구의 타당도 검증을 위해 10년 이상의 경력을 지닌 현직 교사 3 명을 직접 방문하여 설문조사를 하였고, 이를 바탕으로 지도안을 수정하고 보완하였다. 본 연구는 다소 낯설고 어렵게 느껴질 수 있는 국악을 가드너가 고안한 아츠 프로펠이라는 예술 교과를 위한 교수법을 활용하여 친근하게 접근하고, 다양한 지능과 연관된 활동을 통해 음악적 사고와 창의적인 생각을 개발할 수 있는 지도안을 제시함에 그 목적이 있다.;Modern society requires people with a creative and independent mind, and who has cultural knowledge. However, the reality of education in school nowadays relies on grinding and memorizing classes centered on university entrance exams. Similarly, while education of music requires emphasis on artistry and creativity, music classes are also centered on theoretical lectures. The purpose of this study is to develop a Korean traditional music listening guide by applying teaching methods used in music classes. This guide plan applies Arts PROPEL developed by Howard Gardner. In this study, I have utilized Arts PROPEL to develop a 4-stage Korean traditional music listening guide. Compared to the past, the importance of Korean traditional music has increased, but it is still low. Students can have a better understanding of our culture by learning Korean traditional music, and understanding our culture can inculcate proper value as a citizen. Therefore, proper education regarding Korean traditional music is needed. Selected songs for this guide are Sujecheon and Daechwita, as they have historical meaning, and also are the most frequently included songs in the 17 revised textbooks of 2009. In the theoretical background section, I have investigated the concept of Arts PROPEL, the two educational tools of Arts PROPEL, teaching-learning methods utilizing Arts PROPEL, the revised music education curriculum of 2009 and the point of application of Arts PROPEL, and music listening classes. Additional contents include the reason for selecting Sujecheon and Daechwita, and explanation of what they are. The contents of this study are made out of 2 selected Korean traditional songs for listening applying Arts PROPEL, and is composed into 2 stages. I composed portfolios based on Arts PROPEL theory for each stage. The teaching guide is constructed by trying out various ways of listening so that the student can be interested and easily listen and understand Korean traditional music. 3 teachers with 10 or more years of experience where surveyed to test the validity of this study, and modifications where made based on the results. The purpose of this study lies in presenting a teaching guide that applies Arts PROPEL, a teaching-learning method for artistic subjects developed by Gardner, to familiarize Korean traditional music that can feel unfamiliar and complicated, and that can develop musical and creative thinking through activities related to multiple intelligence.
