프랙탈 원리를 활용한 텍스타일 디자인

Abstract

우리가 살고 있는 환경과 자연은 ‘자연’ 단어 그대로 자연스럽게 구성되어있다. 그러나 그 자연 속에는 복잡한 현상 중에도 일정한 규칙이 있다는 ‘프랙탈(fractal)’ 이라는 조형원리가 있다. 프랙탈은 작은 구조가 전체 구조와 비슷한 형태로 끝없이 되풀이 되는 구조로 수학·과학·공학에서 주로 쓰이는 이론이다. 오늘날 융합의 시대가 도래 하였고 그로인해 과학의 새로운 시각과 예술의 창조성이 융합되어 기존의 예술과는 다른 프랙탈 아트가 탄생되었다. 프랙탈 아트는 독특한 형태와 화려한 색상이 그 이미지의 다양성과 심미성만으로도 예술 작품으로서의 충분한 가치가 있다. 또한 프랙탈은 우리 주변에서 쉽게 볼 수 있는 자연에서도 그 패턴을 발견 할 수 있으며 그 이미지들 역시 예술 작품으로 발전시킬 수 있는 가치를 가지는 소재로 주목 받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구자는 프랙탈 원리를 텍스타일에 접목시켜 독창적인 텍스타일 디자인을 구성해보았다. 디자인 컨셉과 모티프는 자연 속의 프랙탈인 통계학적 프랙탈에서 선정하고, 그 모티프를 통계적인 자기유사성의 원리를 통해 텍스타일 디자인으로 표현함으로써 우리가 쉽게 인지하지 못했던 자연 속에 내재되어 있는 프랙탈의 예술성을 표현하였다. 본 연구는 프랙탈 원리를 활용한 텍스타일 디자인으로써 스카프 디자인을 위한 예술성 있는 텍스타일 디자인을 제시하는데 궁극적인 목적이 있다.;The age of convergence and fusion has arrived today and as a result of converged new vision of scientists and creativity of art, a completely different art from existing art form, the fractal art, was created. Fractal art is valuable enough as an art work just by its distinctive form, gorgeous colors, diverse images, and its aesthetics. Also, we can find the pattern of fractal even from nature around us that we easily encounter everyday. and is receiving attention as a valuable material that can develop these images into artwork. Therefore, the researcher grafted the fractal theory onto textile and composed an inventive textile design. The design concept and motif were selected from statistical fractal in nature, and expressed artistic value of fractal inherent in nature that we were not aware of by expressing the motif into the textile design through statistical self-similarity theory. The ultimate objective of this study is to suggest the textile design with great artistic value for scarf design using the fractal theory as a textile designer.
