탈부착 방식에 의한 가변적 니트웨어 디자인 연구

Abstract

최첨단 정보화 시대로 편리성, 복합성을 수반한 디자인에 현대인들의 관심이 높아져 가고 있다. 또한 다양한 라이프스타일로 인한 개성과 차별성의 욕구상승, 빠른 기호 감성에 따라 고정관념에서 탈피한 새로운 시각의 디자인의 접근방법의 변화가 이루어지고 있다. 다용도 다목적에 관심이 높아지는 가운데 가변적 패션은 착용자의 의도와 감각에 따라 다양한 스타일링으로 변화를 주어 표현할 수 있기에 가치가 높아지고 있으며, 또한 기술의 발달에 비례한 인간본연의 회귀본능에 따른 본연의 삶의 중요도의 상승에 감성과 예술성에 대한 가치관의 변화로 니트웨어의 수요가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 탈부착 방식에 사용되는 지퍼의 가변적 요소를 북유럽 전통 니트 문양과 접목함으로써 니트 소재의 활용범위와 표현영역을 확대시키고 다양한 니트 패션 디자인을 제시하는데 있다. 가변적 패션디자인의 표현방법 중 패스닝 시스템의 탈부착 방법인 지퍼를 이용하여 북유럽 전통 니트 문양을 니트 소재에 결합하고 새롭고 독창적인 니트 패션 디자인으로 창출하고자 하였다. 패스닝 시스템의 패스너인 지퍼의 선들과 북유럽 전통 니트 문양의 다양한 기하학적인 문양들의 결합이 심미적으로 잘 어울리도록 문양들을 분석하고 가변성을 고려하여 지퍼의 위치를 정하였다. 연구 내용 및 방법으로는 북유럽 전통 니트 문양에 관한 이론적 배경으로 북유럽 전통 니트의 발생과 정의, 문양의 종류와 특징을 분석하고 이를 응용한 디자인 사례를 조사하였으며 이를 위하여 선행연구와 국·내외 문헌, 인터넷 검색을 토대로 조사 및 수집, 분석을 하였다. 탈부착 방식에 의한 가변적 패션디자인의 관한 이론적 배경으로 가변적 패션 디자인의 정의와 특성, 유형을 분석하여 탈부착 방식의 종류를 분류하고 현대 패션에 나타난 디자인 사례를 조사하였다. 작품제작에 있어서는 패스닝 시스템의 탈부착 방법에 사용되는 지퍼를 이용한 가변적 디자인의 요소와 북유럽 전통 니트 문양중 대표적인 아란, 페어아일, 노르딕, 로피 문양을 접목하여 니트 소재에 표현하였다. 적용된 편직 기법은 기계니팅에서는 CABLE FISHERMAN (5GG, SES 124CS), Tubular Jacquard (3GG.7GG, SES 122CS)를 사용하였고, 핸드니팅에서는 홀가먼트 기법을 사용하였다. 이론적 배경을 토대로 작품 제작 결과를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가변적 디자인의 표현방법 사례를 분석한 결과 레이어드와 리버시블, 패스닝 시스템이 가장 많이 사용되고 있었고, 그 중 패스닝 시스템 중 패스너인 지퍼가 좀 더 손쉽게 탈부착이 가능하고 가장 많이 응용되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 니트 자카드 기계 편직 중 튜블러 자카드(Tubular Jacquard) 2도와 4도를 3GG로 사용하여 리버시블의 효과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 두께감과 무게감도 있어 코트 디자인으로 적합하였다. 셋째, 지퍼를 활용한 가변적 디자인을 할 경우 가로선의 지퍼보다 세로의 지퍼선이 더 많은 가변적 디자인을 표현할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 패스닝 시스템에 의해 분리된 니트웨어의 각 파트들을 다양한 방법으로 재결합함으로써 여러 가지 새로운 형태의 디자인 연출이 가능하였다. 본 연구에서는 패스닝 시스템의 탈부착 방식을 북유럽 전통 니트 문양과 결합하여 니트 소재에 표현함으로써 고정관념에서 벗어난 다양한 니트 디자인을 제시하여 확대시킴에 의의가 있다. 이를 바탕으로 새롭고 차별화된 다양한 니트 디자인의 연구와 시도가 앞으로 계속 됨으로써 니트 패션의 발전을 기대한다.;Today, in the world of high technology, modern consumers’ desire for complex design is soaring up. Meanwhile, consumers in pursuit of unique lifestyle and personality seek for fashion different from others. In order to satiate the needs of their fast-changing preferences and sensibility, fashion industries are making new attempts and approaches, to think outside of the box. Today, many industries are introducing multi-purpose products with creative edge, and fashion industries in turn are introducing designs that enable diverse styling. Consumers, nowadays, express themselves by imbuing special meaning and sensation to fashion. High-technology enables convenience in people’s lives yet their instincts remind them of the significance of life itself and necessity to return to the past to highlight the emotional and aesthetic value of life. Many consumers are seeking for those values especially in knitwear which causes rise in demand of knitwear today. The objective of the study is to suggest diverse designs of knitwear by expanding the scope of the use and application of knit fabric with the combination of the diversity given by the zipper used in attachable and detachable method and the traditional knit patterns representative of North Europe. Through the use of the zipper, used in the attachable and detachable method of fastening system which is one of the ways of contributing diversity to fashion design, and the combination of North European traditional knit patterns with knit fabric, new and unique knit styling can be created. The location of the zipper was determined after a thorough analysis of the patterns and diversity in consideration of aesthetic value created from the combination of zipper lines, the fastener of the fastening system, and geometric feature of North European traditional knit patterns. The content of the research focuses on the history and definition of North European traditional knitwear based on the analysis of theoretical background, types and characteristics of the knit patterns and the observation of the case studies showing the application of knit patterns. The methods of the study used are preceding research along with research, collection, and analysis of data and information from Korean and foreign literature and Internet websites. In order to observe the theoretical background of diverse fashion design using attachable and detachable method, the definition, characteristics and types of diverse fashion designs were observed; the types of attachable and detachable method were categorized; and case studies observing modern design with attachable and detachable method were studied. In the production of work, zipper, used in attachable and detachable method of fastening system, was used to give diversity to the design and the fabric of knit was created with the combination of the four traditional knit patterns representative of North Europe, Aran, Fair Isle, Nordic, and Lopi. The knitting techniques applied are CABLE FISHERMAN (5GG, SES 124CS) and Tubular Jacquard (3GG.7GG, SES 122CS) for knitting machinery, and the technique of whole garment for hand knitting. The conclusion from the production of work based on the theoretical background of knit patterns is as follows. First, the result of observing case studies of applying diverse designs showed that methods of “layered,” “reversible” and fastening system were most commonly used. The zipper, the fastener of the fastening system, is easily attached and detached and found out to be used most often. Second, the Tubular Jacquard, the Jacquard knitting technique, was knitted with threads of color mix 2 and 4 degrees at 3GG, which showed reversible effect. The produced fabric turned out to be heavy and thick enough to be suitable for coat design. Third, it was found out that diverse designs were expressed more explicitly when the zipper line was vertical rather than horizontal. Fourth, various and new types of design were created after recombining pieces of knitwear that were separated by the fastening system. This study showed the significance of thinking outside the box by suggesting diverse knit designs using the combination of attachable and detachable method of the fastening system and North European traditional knit patterns. Further studies and attempts to create new and unique knit design may contribute to the development and future of the industry of knitwear.
