베이지안 분위회귀모형을 이용한 청소년과 대학생의 스트레스 및 자살충동에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대인에게 스트레스와 자살은 신문과 뉴스를 통해 끊임없이 듣게 되는 단어이자, 개인 또는 사회적 문제를 야기할 수 있는 원인으로 자리 잡았다. 스트레스는 개인의 내부 또는 외부의 자극으로 인한 변화에서 나타나는 증상으로 정의할 수 있고 크게 좋은 스트레스와 나쁜 스트레스로 구분할 수 있다. 자살은 자신의 목숨을 스스로 끊는 행위를 일컫는 말로, 개인의 심리적 상태의 변화에 의해서 일어날 수 있으며, 2003년 이후로 대한민국이 OECD가입 국가 중 자살률이 가장 높다는 통계가 발표되기도 했다. 본 논문에서는 2012년 만 13∼24세 청소년과 대학생의 스트레스정도와 자살충동에 관련한 베이지안 분위회귀분석를 수행한다. 일반적인 회귀분석이 반응변수의 ‘평균적’ 결정요인만을 추정하는데 비해 분위회귀분석은 반응변수의 분포별 결정요인이 다른 경우들을 살펴볼 수 있는 장점이 있다. 특히 본 논문에서는 베이지안 기법을 적용한 분위회귀분석을 통해 회귀계수들의 사후 추정치를 살펴본다. 본 논문에서는 심리학적 접근을 통해 구조화된 조사가 아닌 매년 통계청에서 시행되는 사회조사를 통해서 스트레스정도와 자살충동에 영향을 주는 설명변수를 파악하고 영향의 정도를 추정하는데 목적이 있다. 또한 스트레스와 자살충동에 관련하여 설명변수들의 추정된 회귀계수들을 파악하고 비교하며, 또 청소년과 대학생의 차이를 비교해본다.;Recently, stress and suicide have been important social issues in Korea. The stresses are defined as symptoms manifested by changes from personal interior or exterior stimulation, and can be classified as good things and bad things. People who commit suicide deliberately kill themselves that is occurred by psychological changes. It is reported that South Korea had recorded the highest rates of suicide among member nations of the OECD since 2003. This paper conducts Bayesian quantile regression analysis on stress and suicidal impulse among teenagers and college students based on social survey data collected in 2012. The quantile regression models can provide more comprehensive information on the distribution of the response variable, compared with typical mean regression models. The analysis results show wild variation in the effects of explanatory variables for different quantiles. A notable finding from the analysis is that high risk(stress) group is not affected by environmental factors while low risk group is affected by relationships with family and friends.
