어머니와의 상호작용이 낳은 자아존중감의 조형표현

Abstract

한 인간의 독립된 자아가 형성되기까지 많은 사람들과 시간을 보내면서 여러 가지 정서를 경험하게 된다. 삶에 만족하고 이를 긍정적으로 받아들이면서 살아가는 사람들은 정신적, 육체적으로 건강한 삶을 살 수 있다. 그 중에서도 자기 자신에 대해 만족하며 긍정적으로 인식하면서 살아간다는 것은 한 사회의 구성원으로 성장하는데 있어 중요한 요소이다. 인간이 사회의 한 구성원으로 성장 발달하기까지 무수히 많은 환경의 영향을 받게 된다. 특히 자신과 타인 그리고 사회적인 상호작용의 초기경험 시기인 유아기는 자기 자신을 이해, 수용, 조절하는 능력을 기른다. 또한 다른 사람을 이해하며 공감하는 사회를 갖는 것은 유아기 사회적응에 매우 중요하다. 에릭슨(Erickson)은 인간의 성격형성이 사회, 환경적 요인 중에서도 가정환경에 의해서 많은 영향을 받는다고 하였다. 가정은 태어나서 가장 처음 경험하는 환경이며, 유아는 가정 내에서의 다양한 경험을 통해 인간관계의 기초를 배우고 인간으로서의 인격형성의 틀을 마련한다. 가정이 유아의 인격형성을 위한 가장 기초적인 곳이라고 볼 때 가정환경은 그 무엇보다도 중요하다고 말할 수 있다. 본 연구는 가정환경이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 종합적으로 알아보고자 정서, 애착이 유아기에 차지하는 중요성과 부모 특히 어머니의 양육태도가 주요 변인으로 작용하는 자아존중감에 대한 학술적 사례를 근거로 하여 예술적 표현 특성에 대해 연구를 수행하는데 목적을 둔다, 또한 반복적 형태가 예술영역에서 갖는 조형적 특성과 이러한 요소들을 포함한 작품들을 살펴보고 시간의 흐름을 표현하기 위해 반복적인 기법 또는 시간에 관계된 주제를 토대로 연구한 작가들의 작품을 조사하여 연구하고자 한다. 이를 바탕으로 총 9개의 작품을 제작하였으며 이 작품들은 스테이플러 심을 소재로 반복이라는 표현기법을 이용하여 조형적 이미지를 표현하였으며 시간의 흐름을 시각적으로 표현하기 위해 부식의 기법을 통해 시각화하고자 하였다. 작품의 주된 이미지는 실타래 형상을 하고 있으며, 실타래는 어머니가 연구자에게 바라는 ‘장수와 건강한 삶’을 기원하는 매개체이다. 다양한 실타래의 형상은 연구자의 자존감을 표현하고 있으며, 부식된 스테이플러 심은 쇠퇴되어가는 어머니의 외향적 형상들을 의미한다. 연구자의 자존감은 혼자서는 만들어질 수 없고, 어머니와의 상호작용을 통해서 형성된 만큼 어머니의 역할은 크다. 본 연구를 통해 연구자는 가정의 정서적 환경이 자아존중감 형성에 미치는 영향을 종합적으로 분석하고 이에 따라 연구자가 현재의 자아를 구축하게 된 환경적 영향을 학술적으로 서술하고자 한다. 이는 후속연구의 방향성을 긍정적으로 제시하는 계기가 될 것 이다.;To form an independent identity, individuals should have various emotional experiences with people and be through time. The people who have satisfied and positive toward their lives are mentally physically healthy. Living with satisfaction and positive characteristics are the important factors and people are also affected by innumerable environmental influences to be a member of a society. Throughout infancy, the early developing stage, individuals learn social interactions and have relationships among people. Those social skills are the component that develops one's self-esteem, and in which people establish some personal skills like understanding, acceptance, and controlling themselves, as well. Erickson emphasized that one's family background is the powerful influence to form characteristics of a child. A home is the first environment in which children experience and learn the basics of human relationship and they start personality development. Therefore, one's home is the very basic place but is also important environment to develop one's personality. This study will show the importance of a home environment and nurturing that would affect to build high self-esteem through scientific examples and explain it with the concept of formative techniques. The formative characteristics of repetitive forms in artistic area by the passage of time will be examined through some art works and case study, as well. Nine works describe the formative images using repetitive expression technique and the corrosion in staple work visualizes the passage of time. Researcher's main theme is skein of threads. The skein of threads symbolize long live and healthy life that bonds a child and a mother and represents maternal affection. Various skeins express the ego of researcher and the rusty of staples mean the aging of my mother. High self-esteem can be established interactions between a child and a healthy maternal relationship and proper nurturing can be the important factor. This study shows the influence of nurturing environment and try to describe personal experience on one's self-esteem establishment throughout overall analysis and artworks. It will show a new area of artistic relationship between self-esteem and art works and suggest positive researches to the new direction of post studies.
